I went to kings because of how they treated my granddaughter 6 months ago when I helped her buy a car. very patient with my multiple test drives of numerous options. however, the last 24 hrs of our experience - from final test drive, decision, to driving it off the lot was rather chaotic and confusing as we were shuffled from Dean to Mark to Greg and finally back to Dean again! The fact that we got many varied answers as to why the shuffle was happening only added to the confusion & chaos. He apologized sincerely and profusely, had a meeting with the team, contacted Mazda Financial and had the situation taken care of. He asked us to pick up the vehicle and told us he would make it right, which he did. Our daughter's car was waiting for us in the showroom with a large bow. Both the Sales Manager, Jared and Sales Person, Derrin greeted us and apologized profusely for the entire ordeal. They even presented our Daughter with a Thank You card and a couple of gift cards as a way to make amends. Our daughter was extremely happy, (as the initial experience had left her severely discouraged). Kings Mazda even made the process smooth and painless, as we were provided a different Finance Manager, Madison, who explained everything. She explained everything thoroughly, answered all of our questions and empowered our daughter to make the best choices. I purchased a certified vehicle in September and I have noticed several issues. If you purchase certified it should help alleviate some of your concerns when buying a used car. This place you want to thoroughly check the car interior (animal hair) , look for cracks and dings in the mirrors (side mirrors), lights, make sure the system is updated (because they may try to charge you for updates that should have been done), the windows aren't making funny noises (motor needed replaced) and everything in between. Once you sign the papers certified or not those issues are now your concern. I probably would have came out better warranty and all by going elsewhere. Be careful when you buy these big dealerships are ripping you off just like buy here pay here. read more

I purchased an Audi A5 from Kings Mazda that I saw online in October. The price was slightly high and it was listed with a clean Carfax. The also are supposed to come with a 21 point inspection. Upon taking it to my mechanic which I highly recommend you do before you purchase a car from Kings Mazda I was told that the left front quarter panel had been replaced and that there were tale, tale signs because the screws to put the panel on did not belong to the car! I brought this up to the General Manager Richard Ryan and Salesman Tom Ziegler and they offered no real explanation as to why their 21 inspection mechanics would miss that! My mechanic saw it the moment he opened the hood! The bottom line is you can't trust Kings Mazda their Mechanics or the worthless Carfax report that they give free for review! read more

This was the first dealership I sat down at to work on some numbers, and was seriously ready to leave that night in my new car... The Car Dealership Gods thought something else... Dave was nice enough, didn't tag along on the test drive, listened to what we liked and didn't like, and was knowledgeable enough. We sat down to work numbers and after he got all our information and went to the financing office, we sat there in his cubicle for over 45 minutes!! with not even a "this is taking a bit" or a check back to see how we were doing.. nothing. We just sat and sat, and I'm pretty sure we could have left and no one would have noticed. What I did notice as i went out to the car to grab my purse and a water bottle, was that he was sitting down to paperwork with some other guy!! If he was coming back that's great, you don't have to hold their hand through paperwork all the time. Get a manager to help out Jeez.... I would have given this place a straight up 2 or 3 stars, but the fact that when he finally got back to me with the payment the next evening, the payment was $40 more a month than what i figured it out to be based off the sticker price, before trade-ins, down payment, and rebate! Absolutely wonderful staff and dealership. I went here to buy my 2020 Mazda CX-5 after another local dealership fell through on their deal. I was able to take the paperwork for my exact deal here and they were able to meet it dollar for dollar. The whole buying process took me a total of 4 hours across two days and the vehicle delivered has never disappointed. Since then I have also used their service department for my car maintenance needs. Absolutely wonderful experience! Took my CX-5 in for its 5K oil change and the process could not have been easier. I arrived exactly at the time of my service, was pulled into the bay, checked in, given an hour wait time, and was out in about 45 minutes. They also tried to play cheap tricks in hopes to make me buy immediately without thinking it over. The price the offered was very competitive, but overall experience is extremely bad. In the middle of August my husband and I went to Kings Mazda because we saw a car that fit what we wanted. As a Mazda family (we now own 2 and our daughter owns 1) we had been looking for several months, and it was time to bite the bullet. First, I called and spoke with Tom to make sure the used Mazda 3 was still on the lot. We drove a little over an hour to view and test drive the vehicle. Tom was polite, as well as the finance guy. There were a couple of things that were put onto a "we owe" bill such as repair of leather seats, and all weather floor mats (the car didn't have any at all to start). We spent 5 hours purchasing a car, and I had to resign papers two other times due to typo errors. We had been pre-approved at a certain rate, and we told the salesman before he even brought out the offer. We go to finance and were given a rate that was 2.59% higher than our pre approval rate, and after letting finance know, he dropped the rate if we signed up for GAP (which I believe is a necessity) and a protection package for wheels, keys, etc. which my husband wanted to have. We signed, and drove off. I returned at one point, because the front tire kept leaking, and after inspection of the tire there seemed to be no problem. Again staff, mechanics, and others were polite and helpful. This is when I discovered problems, some of which couldn't be seen at purchase. 1) the undercarriage shield has a hole the size of cantaloupe. Whomever owned this before hit something. . . HARD. I asked at the time how much it was to repair, and was told "it's expensive." and brushed off. 2) I also noticed paint "touch ups" on the front right fender near the bottom, that were less than adequate . 3) The four tires don't match, which makes the car ride strange. When we went to check out, I asked for the vehicle history list. This list shows multiple repairs for paint, repairs done to a bumper guard, and wheel repair. They also put new rear brakes on (according to Carfax). Most of these oversites are my fault, however, it is not possible to crawl under a Mazda 3 and inspect, nor would they have allowed us to put it on a rack for inspection. Today topped it for me though. After the rain over the last week, and crud on the car, I went through the car wash. The sun hit my windshield just right and I noticed a chip/crack. It's not in my field of vision, but I stopped at a glass repair, and asked for cost to fill/replace. It had already been filled! Again, not on the carfax, so was this done while in King's possession, or by the previous owner? I'm frustrated because I went to King's for a reason...their 4.8 google review to start. My husband used to sell Mazda's for a competitor, and also agreed King's was the best. I would like to say I would have purchased a car from King's, just not this one, but then again I feel taken advantage of. They had the car on their lot/possession for two weeks and didn't think it appropriate to either a) fix all the issues appropriately or b) notify/disclose to us these problems. Will we stay a Mazda family? Yes! We will remain a member of the King's Mazda family? I can't say with any certainty that we will. read more

Last month, we went to visit Kings Mazda to do some research, test drive a car or two, and try to figure out what we want to buy. Salesman Mark Malone helped us get through it. It turned out that we weren't quite ready to buy so we parted ways, to do more research and sure up our finances. Today, we've done our research, we know exactly what we want and what we feel is a fair price. It just so happened that Kings Mazda had the car for us, at a price we would consider. I called ahead to make an appointment to view the car. Miranda Jiggins was the first to respond so I made plans to meet her. As soon as we walk in the door we find Miranda, greet each other, and sit down to talk about the car. Mark Malone swoops in to instantly pull her aside to proclaim that we're JUST here to joyride and likely won't buy (seemingly still butthurt about the fact that we didn't buy from him last month - even though we clearly stated we weren't ready at the time). He went as far to say we never called him back, as if it's our responsibility to give him a sale despite the month long gap in communication. God forbid we do some diligent research as responsible consumers. Besides starting off on the wrong foot there, the car was now listed at $1,500 more than advertised price that I saw when I made the appointment. Apparently, and seemingly conveniently for them, one of the advertised incentives just ended the day before. I'm still skeptical. Nevertheless, Miranda -now doubting our seriousness about buying... thanks to Mark- didn't really try to make a deal with us. We left with all our money, quite disappointed. I'm sure that another dealer in the area will be willing take the extra steps to make a sale. My advice to anyone thinking about visiting Kings Mazda: avoid Mark Malone like the plague. His childish antics cost his company a sale, and likely any future sale from me. Disrespectful and Immature. It's a good thing that Halloween only comes once a year. Boy, did I get screwed at Kings Mazda! My key broke off in the ignition of a Miata. I had the car towed to Kings Mazda and they quoted me $400. I arrived to pick up the car and the bill was over $800.00. How can it cost $800 for a switch? They insisted the bill was correct and I paid them. The switch came with 2 new keys. Neither fits the doors nor the trunk. It's a good thing I had a second old key. I needed a brake job. They quoted $2,000 for a brake job. My son and I will do this ourselves. We have done this brake job before. I found out when I arrived home that the dashboard had been destroyed in the process of repairing the ignition switch. They didn't tell me about this. So, what do you think? I'm 80 years old. Bought a CX-5 from them and all was great, until I got home and read the paperwork. They were supposed to deduct an extra $1,000 allowance for my trade-in, which would have reduced my payments by $28 a month. I had been there about 6.5 hours, hadn't had breakfast or lunch, and needed to leave to babysit my grandkids, and somehow read the payments transposed when I signed the contract. When I went back to talk to them about it, the salesman couldn't recall saying that, and their excuse was, well, you signed the paperwork. I know it is my fault, but it just amazes me that for some reason, nobody there can remember that they were supposed to reduce the car price by $1,000. I screwed myself out of $1k and they just said, too bad. I put the down payment on my Amex card, thinking about denying the charges, but since I signed the paperwork, I guess I'm screwed. I was blatantly lied to. Yet another dealership service department that will tell a bold-faced lie in order to steal money from you. Very disappointed. Beware. I recently had my Mazda in for some recall work. Just a few days before in an unrelated incident from the recall work, part of the console below the stereo had come out a bit. It was just slightly ajar, but wedged due to the cigarette ashtray part below it. Nothing was broken on the panel, it was just simply slightly pulled out and ajar if you will. I hadn't gotten around to googling how to fix it yet, but it looked easy enough to fix. So I thought, "hey, let's see if they do a bit of customer service and fix it for me; it should be a quick fix for them" (mind you I purchased my Mazda at King's). I waited in the waiting area since the recall work would only take about an hour. While I waited, I did a quick google search on how to fix that issue. Apparently it's pretty common. A youtube poster showed how the most novice of people can easily fix it in 3-5 minutes. You pop up the center console piece, which lets you pop up the console piece around the shifter, which lets you pop off the piece to the ashtray, which allows you to reset the console piece below the stereo. Super simple and nothing complex whatsoever. So, my car is finished and the service manager informs me that the piece is "unrepairable" (funny since nothing needed to actually be "repaired") and they'd need to install a whole other piece and it would run me $80. I just laughed and said "um no I'm not doing that. I just looked it up and it's so easy your guy could have done it in 2 minutes." He just looked at me like I hadn't even said anything and asked me to sign for the recall work. Carried a demeanor of complete lack of care that I just caught him in a lie. I was livid but held my tongue. I've had other dealerships pull moves like this on me, and others I know, and it saddened me that Kings Mazda is no different. By the way, I was so upset and ready to prove him wrong that I went home and "fixed" it myself. It took me exactly 6 minutes. There wasn't a single clip or piece broken or "unrepairable". Again, nothing was actually needing to be repaired; nothing was "wrong" with it. It's service departments at dealerships like this that should make all of you leery of just believing what they tell you. Hear what they have to say and get a second opinion and even check online to see if what they say matches what you find out. They often over-exaggerate how dire a situation/issue is. read more

We found a used car at Kings Mazda for what appeared to be great condition for less than what we had been seeing at other small used dealerships. It was a great find -- the mechanics of the car seemed sound and both the interior were in very good condition. We felt better about going to a "big" dealership because the small guys seemed like they had less experience, less business, and less ability to get us financing quickly. That being said, in the end, I was dissatisfied with them and felt a little bamboozled. The salesperson seemed nice and normal. He wasn't overly clingy or too heavy handed. That was appreciated. But I wish he had followed through on some things I had said during the test drive. I feel really regretful I was not more insistent on checking on every little thing. He also did not seem to know much about the specific car itself or the model. I knew more from researching it online than he could tell me. We discovered some issues that we feel the dealer should have or did know about. First, they quibbled over a few hundred dollars and tried to convince us it was no big deal because that's just a few bucks a month. Okay; I'm not an idiot, and I went to college. The total price does make a difference. This quibbling over a few hundred bucks is what really annoyed me after I found out the following. 1) The car did not have more than one key. Getting additional keys made was more money ($300) than what they quibbled over. 2) The car did not come with any rugs. That was another $200 out of pocket that I had to pay for after the fact. 3) I had mentioned how bad the brakes felt, how much I had to push to get it to stop. Turns out, they were rusted fused and we need all new brakes ($800). 4) There was also a hole in the muffler and that was another $700 replacement. 5) I failed to notice a long dent on the passenger side. That was my fault. I am not going to pay to get it taken out. So basically, this car is costing me off the bat another $2000. read more

Wow, just scheduling with these folks is just the most excruciating thing ever. The online service portal does not update properly, so it thinks I have 8 different Mazdas, all with different mileage. Using their "chat" option was a rabbit hole of unending mundane questions that got me no closer to booking a thing. Yikes - sounds like I'm one of the only Yelpers who had a positive experience at Kings Mazda! I have been leasing a 2016 CX-5 since November 2015 and have had nothing but a great experience. They worked with me on accommodating my budget and even put the *only* white CX-5 aside for me until I finally pulled the trigger on leasing. I love the fact that I get complimentary oil changes every 5,000 miles (not sure if this is standard for leasing since this is my first time doing so)! Their service area associate, Pat Gallagher, is always very kind and helpful. I recommend scheduling your service appointment for after 5 p.m., as it can take a tad bit longer during normal working hours. Overall I am very pleased with Kings Mazda and will most likely re-lease once my current lease is up! read more

Out of the dealer ships that we went to this one was OK. We were looking for a car for my girl but the salesman was talking to me more that to her. She did do a couple of test drives and found out she liked the Rio. We sat down to get a price and to see what the monthly rate we could get and we sat there for almost an hour waiting. Our salesman it turns out was showing a car to other people. When he came back he didn't even know anything about the payments or anything and blamed it on being after five o'clock and the banks weren't open. I work for a bank and know better than this. He then said that he would give us a call the next day. He did call us back but we were already looking somewhere else. The customer service is awful! The service department worked on my daughter's car, supposedly did a full circle inspection. The next week she started having issues and hearing a terrible noise. The service advisor, Josh Quigg, told me to have my daughter have the car looked at near the college she was attending. We find out from another Mazda Dealership in NE Ohio that she needs another $909.00 worth of work after spending $1200.00 at Kings Mazda. The general manager was not willing to work with us! I bought a new 'used' car here. I did a lot of research - Consumer Reports, Autotrader.com, cargurus.com, etc. - so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and what was a good deal. I worked with Ethan, who kept things simple and straight. I'd text him about cars, send him stock numbers, he'd get them ready for me to drive. We worked together. Eventually, it came time to deal and Kings gave me a good price and then didn't try - like some other local dealers - to gouge you on "fees." I ended up buying a "used" Mazda 3, but it was a 2018 that had been used only as the service loaner. The finance lady tried to sell me some service contracts but I just said no, and we finalized it. (There was some glitch that forced me to come back the next day to finish paying. Also the fob battery was dead, but they fixed that right away for free.) Ethan also helped set up the iPhone/car connection stuff for me, since that was all new to me. read more

I call Kings the next day and let them know we will do one last look at other dealers and then decide. They tell me come in right now for another $500 off. We come in, look again at the car, and start getting paperwork prepared. Then get told they CANNOT honor the price we discussed on the phone. Then the Kings complain how they don't even want to do the $2500 off sticker even though it is still advertised on their website. I leave and get the deal I want from another dealer. The Kings oil change for life is good, and the location is good given different car dealers close by. Otherwise I would NOT recommend Kings Mazda. read more

The worst service experience, ever. They were inaccurate with their diagnosis, the cost, and the time it would take for the repair. They didn't have the parts in stock, even though I had made an appointment for the repair a week earlier. My vehicle was finally "finished". I went to pick it up. After I paid my bill, and even though it was listed as done, I was informed that they had forgotten to do one of my requested services. And they didn't have the part. They could order it and I could bring my car back in a week. Really? read more

Buyer Beware! Bait and Switch. After working with Jason Baker for about 10 days, I negotiated a price with Kris Miller, his sales manager, for a 2016 CX-5 demo through email. We came to an agreement on 12/15/16 for an out-the-door price with 0% financing. I emailed Kris and Jason that we would be in on Sunday, 12/18/16 to pick up the car and sign the papers. Kris replied "Sounds good. We will have the car cleaned and ready. See you at 12:30 on Sunday". I emailed Kris back and copied Jason and asked if he needed anything from us before Sunday. Neither person replied. When we showed up on Sunday, we were greeted by another manager who told us he had sold our car, but he would provide us with another car for only $200 more. After looking at the offer, the car was actually almost $500 more and did not include the $475 in accessories that we had negotiated with the original car. Needless to say, we will never buy a car from this dishonest and conniving dealership. read more
