This is a great resource for used parts! This was the second time that I have used purchased parts from Northlake. Today's purchase was a transmission for a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. I had called last week to see if the part was still available, it was. They asked me to call before I left to pick it up (I had a 120-mile drive), and they would get it ready When I arrived, I was greeted by Bob who was working at the front counter. He was very friendly and made sure that all of my info was in order to ensure the transmission would work for my needs. After getting a receipt for my payment, he instructed me on where to pick the part up. The transmission was in great shape and ready to go. Northlake Auto Recyclers is hands down the best auto salvage I have ever had the pleasure doing business with,and I've delt with alot. Everyone I delt with there was helpful, professional and knowledgeable. I called ahead and spoke to Debbie, she found me what I needed and sent photos of the item in question since I would be driving 2.5 hours there. The main building is awesome, full of old gas pumps and other automobilia. Don helped me once I was there and Steven helped me load up the truck fir the drive home. What a pleasant surprise. I had been waiting over a month for a part for my VW Atlas from another recycler. I finally gave up and found the part on NAR's website, I ordered it and picked it up a few days later. THey kept communicating with me as I neared the pickup date. NAR wasn't selling something that they didn't have. When the bumper cover was taken from their warehouse and brought to the store, they discovered that there was some slight damage to it. I was contacted, and we discussed the scratches and was offered a better price if I still wanted it. No pressure, just great service. I am in the automotive industry and occasionally we need quality used OEM parts. I was referred to Northlake by a dealer tech and in my time using them I am impressed with their parts selection and customer service. I have priced./sourced parts from rims to transmissions with them and every time I call Dan he is upbeat, friendly and helpful in helping me locate the part no matter how small it is. A big plus is that he will double check to insure the part is a direct fit. They are conveniently located for me and their place of business is very clean, organized and very nicely decorated. Northlake had the lowest price by far for the part I needed so I drove over 3 hours to go get. The price was so good I still saved hundreds even with the long drive. I was helped by Brian who went beyond normal customer service to make sure everything was taken care of. Everyone there was professional, friendly and helpful. I was also blown away by the sales office. Beautiful, clean and classy. I would go out of my way just to show the front desk to a car person. Needed OEM wheel for my wife's 2016 Enclave. Drove over from Fort Wayne and back in six hours. Saved big money. Previously worked with a couple of salvage yards around Fort Wayne that had used wheels, but passed on buying cause of cost. Since the wheel was only curb rashed she decided to love with it. Then the ice that came just before New Year's Day caused an impact with a curb destroying the wheel. Today was my first trip to NAR and I was pleasantly surprised! Debbie too my order, Bob took care of the paperwork and Joe brought out the parts, loaded and helped strap them down. When was the last time you were impressed enough to learn the names of the people at your supplier? These people are very nice professionals. The facility itself is first rate, from the 'man-cave' counter room to the very clean warehouses everything is impressive. It's unlike any yard you have been to before, I guarantee. This was my 3rd time going to Northlake in the past 12 months and they have yet to disappoint. Their parts are always in great shape, especially their "pre-driven" tires. Why buy a brand new set of tires when you can get name brand (used) tires with almost full tread for at minimum, half the price? It's a bit of a hike to get there from Cedar Lake, but well worth the drive. I love the two dogs hanging out behind the counter. One is a sweet Chocolate Lab who will greet you at the top of the counter and the other, a less friendly, big black Mastive. I love to see them both when I go in there! read more

Northlake Auto Recyclers has a customer for life. I needed a spare tire dount for my daughters new used 2016 Elantra. Stan's in St. John suggested I call Northlake and they had what I was looking for. They held the spare and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. The place was super clean the staff was awesome and I the service I received was incredible. I don't shop for auto parts very often but when I need something they will be my first call. I called ahead and the attendant was very helpful and was able to confirm right away that they had the rare part I was looking for (Wheel for 2012 Scion iQ). When I arrived I was waited on immediately and the price was very fair. I really get the impression that this is business as usual for these guys. My Dad came with me and they hooked him up with a mini spare and tire tool kit that would work with his Prius that doesn't come with a spare. It was a great deal on a spare that had never been used. Unbelievable customer service, service and facility. As NAR is over an hour away from me, I was skeptical at first when they said they had my hard to find part in stock as 2 other local salvage yards said they did only to find out the others didn't. However, not only did they say have it but they actually physically confirmed they had it and would fit / work properly before I drove there. I have purchased parts several of times for three of my current autos. Needed an engine for my 03 Impala this time. Bob didn't take my word for the engine, instead cross referenced by my VIN to ensure that I had the correct engine. Engine was delivered the next morning as promised.
