I oily bring my car s here. Body w ork to oil chances. I have been going here for over ten years.

The work was done correctly and the price was fair but it took way too long. I wanted a lot of work done. Drain and flush the radiator, install a new catalytic converter, replace the spark plugs, oil change, new oil filter, new engine air filter and a new cabin air filter. It took two visits because of the cat being on back order. The first visit was three days. The second one was two days. They didn't drain and flush the radiator. The work was done right but I need my car and really expected that it should have been two visits. The first one should have been two days and the second one should have been one day. the work should have been completed. read more

Had a fender bender with my truck. Ken looked at the damage, identified what was needed and quoted a fair price. He called back when the parts were in and arranged the service. When they pulled the bumper they identified additional repairs needed and called to get authorization to do the repairs. Got the truck back and it looks great. I appreciate they use OEM parts and not aftermarket. read more

First of all, I'd give this zero stars if I could, I went to Kurek Bros. the other day to get a simple estimate on fixing a botched car repair that someone else had done. Instead what I got was this goofy guy with grey hair who goes by the name of Ron Kurek ( the owner) who tried to sell me instead on his expertise.. He appeared to be drunk as he was talking to me in kind of a stupid way, grilling me on who did it and where I got it done at, etc etc. All the while I'm thinking, am I really in the mood for a guy with a condescending attitude asking me all of these questions on one of the hottest days of the year? I don't think so! But what really pissed me off was when I asked him for an estimate in writing about fixing it he balked saying we don't get involved in that sort of thing! What? I said don't you have to give estimates in writing? He shook his head and kept on saying No No No laughing in that goofball way of his. What an idiot! I guess he's not familiar with the IL Repair Act. I'm thinking of filing a complaint against him. Will never go to this place again!. . read more

Crushed my tire in a pothole. Son called Kureks for a tow. Arrived in 45 minutes, great tow driver. Took car back to shop and had new set of tires installed. People were friendly and took care of the job next day. Tires will last till next car. read more

I read a review by Josh from a few years ago, and it made me laugh enough to post this. I called and asked for a jump start two blocks from their shop. Whoever answered said "we really don't do jump starts anymore." I told him I called because one time they did it for me when I left my lights on in front of St Christina Church Then he told me "$65 for a jump start". I called Mt Greenwood Automotive at 103rd and Kedzie, and the guy said $10, be there in about an hour. I gave him $20 after he got my car started. Hey Josh..bite me. They provide fair and accurate assessment of the damage and are happy to answer all of your questions. When we got our vehicle back it looked as if it just rolled off of the showroom floor... and it was made in 1998! Paint color matched original, all seams and panels lined up perfectly, and OEM parts were used. VERY IMPRESSIVE WORK! They have been our first choice for auto repair for years. I had a VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE with Kurek and I wouldn't go anywhere else! My daughter's 2002 Ford Escape rusted underneath and her tire fell off while she was driving. We had the car taken to Kurek and I was dreading the diagnosis and the quote for repair. Instead, I recieved a call from Ron Kurek who told me that he did a little investigating and found that my daughter's car was part of a recall with Ford for that very issue. Furthermore, the cost for repair was going to be covered 100% by Ford. Ron towed the car to McCarthy Ford and long story short, the car was repaired and is now safe for my daughter to drive. When I think about the way Kurek went out of their way to help us, I'm astounded. They had nothing to gain, really, except a satisfied customer. Thank you Ron. Don't bother going anywhere else on the southside for auto repairs. These guys are knowledgeable, easy to deal with, friendly, and most importantly - trustworthy. Been here three times over the last few years and they always give me affordable solutions for my various car problems. They were honest, very thorough and did an excellent job fixing my car. I agree with the other reviewer that they are friendly and reasonable. I just had a terrific experience with Kurek Brothers. My car was making a weird noise. I brought it in and the guys made me feel right at home. Through a spectacular sound effect show and re-enacting what I might have been hearing, they diagnosed the sound was a brake censor. It turned out I needed rear brakes (which was mis-diagnosed at another large conglomerate who's initials are PEP BOYS). They fixed them for a fair price and rather quickly. They are fun to do business with and even threw in a couple of other quick repairs at no additional price. I will never go anywhere else for auto repairs. Shop Local, my friends. read more

They deal with every color of the rainbow in attitudes and people. Treat them as you'd like to be treated and they will treat you the same. I've personally know Ron Jr. (Minnow) and his family for over 15 years and they are the warmest most welcoming and hard working family and group of people on this planet. They will not steer you wrong with service. They will not BS you into service you don't need. If the service will cost more than the car is worth, they will be brutally honest and tell you. January 2016 - My car stalled one block away from Kurek Bros. I called and asked how much was a tow. $80.00 local. Ok I then asked where do I need to get may car to gentleman stated bring it to the lot. I got my car onto the apron of their parking lot. They had a large tow truck in the way of the garage. While I was inside talking to "Ed" two neighbors that helped me get my car to the lot were being treated snotty because my car was in an undesirable place on the lot. Near other tow trucks. Ed told me that I needed to get the car in front of the garage. I am a 35 yr. old female that lives in the neighborhood. I then asked when I get my car to the front of the garage how will you get my car in the garage? Ed stated they would push it. I was confused because he first told me all I had to do get my car to the lot. Now I have to get it to a certain spot in the lot? My car wont start. He then began telling me different excuses why I had to push my car. They didn't have enough staff then he had health issues then he just didn't feel like taking Kurek Bros. customer service to the next level. I guess I was going to have to fix my own car while I was there too??? If he can push it into the garage why cant they push the car from the end of the parking lot to the garage? As Ed and I were uncovering why they would not help me. A man wheeled himself from a chair in an office to the lobby in front of several other customers and stated that there was another mechanic across the street. I then got my car of the lot. And my 14 year old son and 37 yr old husband managed to push the car across the street. Complete Auto Car fixed may car same day was very customer service oriented and made $700 off my repairs that day. Why bother with Kurek Brothers when you can go right across the street they seem to have enough business. read more
