I showed up to check progress and discovered they sanded down the rear window trim which was new and I just had powder coated. They also didn't cover my interior and it was filled with dust, that even after vacuuming many times has left my black interior dark grey. When I displayed my displeasure, the manager, Tony, basically told me to take my car elsewhere, which at this point was impossible. I immediately apologized and started kissing his a** to keep the project going. I left and hoped for the best. When I came to pick up the car, the paint job was average at best and you could see lots of swirl marks in the paint. There were also "crows feet" in the roof that weren't here before and a large crack on the right side (See Pics). The door was aligned properly but when I got home I discovered they put a screw in the middle of the door panel in an attempt to fasten it. Absolutely unprofessional! Total cost for my $800 repair was $3300.

Upon further inspection done by the shop they discovered several other issues and worked seamlessly with my insurance company to adjust the claim accordingly. Tony, the manager, kept me in the loop the entire time and ensured the process was as smooth as possible. In addition to fixing the front end, they also took care of some scratches and dings l accumulated over the years from the kids bikes and balls. The cost for these additional repairs were very reasonable. When I picked up the truck, it looked great and was pleasantly surprised that they detailed the interior! I called the insurance company and voiced my concern about finding another shop and they were against that and even said I could have to pay a restocking fee for the parts, so I reluctantly left my vehicle there. A few weeks go by and no one called or contacted us to give any kind of update unless we called and complained about how slow the work was being done. Last week they said it would be ready on Friday provided that the sensor came in for the repair to be complet, so today I was shocked to find out that Carstar actually called and told my wife that the vehicle would not be ready due to a cable kit being needed and it would be wednesday this following week. the insurance company has paid for a rental up until the 9th of this month so it has been an inconvenience for us only having one vehicle for the last two weeks so by the time I will actually get my vehicle back it will have been 44-45 days to me this seems a bit excessive. I don't have money floating around to pay for a rental for 18 days. needless to say this is my way of letting others know not to take your vehicle to the riverside Mo Carstar if it is not drivable they only have one lift and it will take a while if anyone is in front of you to get service. I live in NC and my Mother until last week lived in Weston Missouri. She has gone on and on about…read morethis family and how wonderful they have been to her. Before we found this business, she was taking her Blazer to a dealership. I had transported that vehicle from San Francisco 5 years ago when my sister passed away. She wanted only the best for that car. Between us we had, over time, spent 6K with that dealership. When it became overwhelming for us financially, she decided to look elsewhere and found Knightons. They have kept that vehicle in perfect running condition for about 3 years now. They have always been honest with her and worked things within her budget. They have treated her incredibly well and always only done what needed to be done and never, have they ever tried to sell her anything that wasn't needed at each visit. Recently my Mother was diagnosed with Cancer. She has had to move to NC with me as of last week. She had taken the car to them for a check up so that my husband could go pack her up and bring her here. As she left the lot to get a hitch receiver to bring to them for installation, someone came through a stop light and hit that vehicle. Believe it or not, they came on the scene to tow her vehicle to their shop and even took her home so that she could get there safely. Her vehicle looks just like it did before it was hit and let me tell you, there was plenty of damage. It was totaled by the insurance company, but since the vehicle belonged to my sister, she decided to keep it and they fixed it in time for my husband to fly to NC to get her. I lived in KC all of my life. I have never, ever known a more honest group of people when it has come to mechanics and now extensive body work. They have done a AMAZING job. My Mom misses them terribly and doesn't want anyone else to touch that vehicle. I can see why!! If you need ANY kind of mechanics or body work, if you live within a hundred miles of this shop, it would be worth your time to let them do your work. This is a very talented group of mechanics, body work people. unbelievable... honestly. I work for a transport company and many of my clients transport older vehicles to body shops, several states away just to ensure that they get quality work. I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know in the KC area and even around the country. I am extremely particular in every way with any product or service I use, these people are kind, friendly and amazingly talented.
