I took my 2012 Infiniti G37 to his shop on July 26th, 2014 to have some thin pinstripes removed from the vehicle (approximately $125.00 in labor charges according to the owner), and despite assurances from Gary Hassler (the owner) that the stripes could be easily removed with wet sanding (which would not damage the paint or the clear coat), one of his employees used an abrasion wheel instead to remove the stripes which destroyed the paint job on the car. They even sanded down to the bare metal in several places, resulting in damages of $4000.00. Mr. Hassler avoided my calls and text messages for almost an entire week before I was able to catch him in person at his shop to confront him about the matter. All I received were excuses and feet-dragging. On top of this, when they took the car out of the garage they parked it in the lawn, running into a metal park bench which did damage to the front bumper. When repeatedly asked why they continued to damage the entire vehicle when it was apparent they were damaging it when they started on the rear quarter panel, all I received was an "I don't know". Mr. Hassler has stated that he simply does not have the money to pay me, which according to his now former office manager is completely false. I've also checked with the City of Merriam, and he does not have a valid business license. After confronting him with 3 quotes from local shops to repair the damages, he confessed he does not carry any insurance either. I ended up having to pay the money out of pocket to have virtually the entire car repainted due to their negligence. I filed suit in Johnson County Small Claims Court (http://jococourts.org - do a search for Gary Hassler under the Civil category for proof), and was awarded a default judgment of $4000.00 plus interest on September 5th, 2014 because he didn't even bother to show up for court. After reviewing public court records, he has also done this in the past. As of November 14th, 2014 he has failed to submit a statement of assets to the Johnson County Court Clerks office so that a garnishment and collections can take place.

The tip of the rear door was striking the tip of the forward door and there a lot of wind noise at highway speed. My car was immediately addressed upon my appointment and while I waited the rear door was adjusted diagonally to cure the strike problem and inward to fix the wind noise. I was out in just a few minutes with no more striking or noise problems. Makes the car so much more enjoyable on a long highway trip. Can't complain about the cost. The technician and service manager even wiped the fingerprints off my car. I'm pleased that the same professionalism and friendliness that I get at the service shop also exists at the body shop. I know of friends who have gone to other body shops with similar problems and have never really have their problem fully cured.

Owner refuses to be accountable for a vehicle in his possession. So basically your vehicle is not secure here, and if it is stolen it will be your fault somehow. AVOID at all costs, trust me it is not worth it. Got my truck back from impound lot with $4000 plus damage, I am still trying to put it back together.

And by the way, we live in South Johnson County, so it is quite a haul to get there, but it is so worth it. Was hoping I would never have to deal with a body shop, but due to an accident I landed on Tanners…read more Tanner's was highly recommended by other people with the same make and model in a private Facebook group. Yet, just because people state something - I still had to do my own research, and I got multiple estimates from different shops. Based on what I was told - I honestly liked what and how things were being replaced. Through out the repair process - they kept me updated via multiple e-mails every other day or so. They were actually sent the wrong body part early in the repair process and even sent me a picture of it, just so I knew they weren't making it up. After my vehicle was repaired and I needed further documentation - they still kept me updated even though they had already been paid by the insurance company - and had nothing to gain. I also actually spoke to the insurance company in the beginning - and they informed me 'Tanner was a good guy.' Now you can dismiss that - but the fact the insurance company is on personable terms with the body shop - that's a win/win for me. It may sound weird, but I'm actually glad I was in an accident as Tanner's made my vehicle look better than before they got it.
