This gym has potential but needs many updates. Also, the gym needs a thorough cleaning. There are not alot of classes in the evenings. Their management that is there mainly stay in their offices and stare at their computers. They need to oversee what is going on and put people to work and clean for starters. At this time there are children there that yell and scream and run all over the place. No proper communication skills, no compassion - she was a very rude individual. I am very much debating on canceling my membership after that interaction. Do better. read more

Love this Y. It's like a family, been coming for over a year now. Staff is friendly, and dedicated. Childcare is amazing, staff being consistent and always doing crafts and such. I'm sorry, but the head of the volleyball is so frustrating. She has changed my girls practice 3 times and 2 different locations, practices are double booked, couldn't find us a coach, not sure she tried too much. She doesn't respond to everyone's emails, and when she does, it doesn't really help with our question or concern. It's really frustrating. The schedules should be set before the season. read more

I have been a member for a month, I do not recommend this gym at all. I have been moved and kicked off of machines by trainers and classes they hold on the gym floor. What is upsetting is there are two classrooms for the staff to host exercise classes, yet they still run other classes during peak training times in the small over crowded gym area on equipment members need to use. This gym is truly one of the worst I have been to, as it regularly fails to provide a space for members who have limited time and need an area to work out, lift weights, enjoy an uninterrupted work out in. Easy fix: stop having classes on the gym floor! It is too small and space is limited. read more

We are in tee ball for my son. We signed up 3 months before the season started. I keep waiting and waiting to get assigned to a team and coach. I found out the season was about to start and had no information. So I called and emailed a few people trying to get help, and nothing no response. So, I waited a few days. Then tried again, then finally someone called me. He said sorry we start tomorrow. My son just turned 5, and I told him I want 5-6yr old tee ball. So the next day I look and he signed me up for 3-4 yr old tee ball and I'm coaching. I like coaching and I don't mind but, why 3-4 yr olds. So I called again and no answer. Two days later I finally get a call from the commissioner and he said well I need a coach for 3-4 yr olds. I told him my concerns ( about my son being 5 and pretty big kid) and he said it will be ok stay with 3-4. So after some convincing I finally agreed and he says ok here's your team, and we have a coaching meeting tonight and you need to practice tomorrow because games start this weekend. I said what why am I just now getting all this information. So, on top of all of this mess, I am three weeks into the season and just now got my jerseys and hats and was told I should have them a month ago. Just the most unorganized program I've ever been to and we will never be back after this, for nothing. Horrible customer service, and absolutely no communication. If the commissioner has to much on his plate I get it, but ask for help or find a different way to run things. Zero stars read more

The Y basketball sports from this location has verbally abusive parents and rude kids towards other teams. Belittling others kids is poor parenting and showing your own kids that being a bully is acceptable. Being in Y sports is also for beginners and should never be yelled at or called racial names just because you think your team or kid plays better. The director of the Y was notified, but he didn't provide any follow up to the complaining parents on resolution or responded to parents emails. AJ is useless in his role! Just a low class sports facility with zero sportsmanship rules for players or ignorant parents! read more

When I picked up my daughter on Tuesday they just told me that another kid pulled her bow. When changing her realized a big bruise on her arm. I spoke with them and they told me she was sitting by a new boy that's kind of gruff with the rest of the kids, that maybe he bit her. So I don't know why they were not keeping a close eye on this kid. My daughter was wearing long sleeve and there's also a scratch, don't know how this happen. Also a red spot on her forehead and a torn nail. One of the ladies at child care squeezing a baby and in a really bad mood. Not Maria, she's great and very kind. read more

Staff is welcoming and the zumba instructor Alvaro actually knows what he is doing i.e. has rhythm, great timing and actually is a dancer so I dont have to frustrate or injure myself and my joints trying to copy messy, off beat foot patterns that make no sense to the music. I almost gave up on zumba because of the low quality and boring instructors. Thank you Northpark for restoring my Zumba fun for exercise and dance. read more

Not too sure why the gym is 45$ a month, let alone almost no discount for residents. I'd rather pay 30$ at the 24 hour fitness on golden triangle which is 10 times the size and way more accommodating. That's a insane price for this gym for the size. No thanks! read more

Worst experience ever!!!! The sports director is incompetent from day one he put 5 players on our team meaning we forfeit every game if one player misses, while all the other teams have at least 8 plus players. After being notified he did nothing. Then we have a team in the league, with 10 year olds playing in an 8 year old league!!! The 10 year olds are also throwing out death threats to the opposing team. Which ended in threats in the parking lot. When the Y was notified they did nothing. read more

Worst experience playing youth sports ever! If your child is an experienced player do your self and your child a favor DO NOT sign them up to play with the NorthPark Y. Club teams are their bread and butter therefore they allow them to bring in multiple teams causing a huge disadvantage to all other players and teams. The director does not care that this is causing new players to quit the sport and leave discouraged. The refs call for these club teams causing an even bigger disadvantage. If you want your player to have a fighting chance steer clear of this place!!!! read more

No childcare when they say they have it, can't use pool in summer unless you want to pay a ton more for classes, cost is just as much if not more for less equipment and run down child care facilities. My family and I love working out here. They have a wonderful child care and an amazing water park equipped with a spiraling slide. Machine wait times are minimal if any. My husband lifts pretty heavy and is pleased with their weight selection. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is free coffee, a towel service, and wifi too :D read more

Great gym facilities and the group fittness classes are great! The staff and members are all incredible friendly. The child watch is wonderful as well- my kids love all the workers there and the activities. I only wish the facility was a little bigger. This YMCA is always clean, never has that "gym" odor and the staff is always very friendly. We haven't used the pool yet, but it looks nice as well. I've never had an issue with equipment being broken or the machine I wanted to use not being available. If you're looking for a place to workout that is kid friendly - this is the place!! I am totally unimpressed with swimming lessons here. The instructors don't introduce themselves to the parents let alone the kids. I am having to intervene multiple times for issues that should be easily handled by the instructors. The lesson got started 4 minutes late today because the teachers had to "put on sunscreen." Clearly there is little training on leadership and social skills. I haven't seen the supervisor since the first day. This has been a waste of $$. We won't be back next year. read more

I joined for the classes however my hubby goes to the gym with a lap pool. The classes are fun with great instructors, staff is friendly. Plenty of free weights and treadmills etc however lacking on the machine weights, first gym I have been a member of with so few machine weights therefore you have to wait as there is just one, meaning one front leg lift, one back leg lift.. more for the arms however not many. If I had children I would have them at this gym. The summer program for the kids looks like so much fun for them and they are well behaved. I don't mind that they are loud or take up room in the bathroom... afterall isn't that what the Y means in YMCA (YOUTH) it is important that children have a place to learn, make friends, grow and thrive. I was impressed last summer at how happy all of the kids seemed and the young guys & gals that worked with the kids during summer break. read more

Nice selection of classes and equipment, but for the serious body builders, this would not be the place. Overall a good place for all ages as they have classes to suit all ages (e.g. yoga, fast pace, senior citizen classes, etc.). The facility is very clean, the A/C is kept low and cool, the facility does not have a smell, they have great after school & summer activities for kids. Facilities are clean, lots of activities and classes to choose from. Customer service needs a LOT of work, though. You can walk in the building and there will be 5-6 employees, including members of management, and not ONE will say hello or greet you. Even when they are scanning your card, you might not get a hello or acknowledgment. When you leave, it's the same thing. Be appreciative of your members, be cordial and kind.
