Amazing Service Experience Yesterday, the screw holding one…read moreof my eyeglasses arms on fell out. Obviously, I can't wear the glasses without the screw in the arm. I tried several repair kits, but none of them had the right-sized screw. I thought perhaps there would be an eyeglass store in Woodinville that might be able to help me. Fortunately, I picked The Optik. I sent an email as well as a text to The Optik. Approximately 20 minutes later, I got an email back from an associate named Lilly. Her email was very pleasant and inviting, so I drove over. A sign on the door indicated that they were short of staff and there might be a wait, but I didn't have to. Lilly was sitting right at the desk. She recognized me as I walked in. She took my glasses and said Please sit down and make yourself comfortable. I'll be right back. Who does this nowadays? In about 10 minutes, she was back out and said that she wasn't able to find the exact screw, but she did find a screw that she cut and used to repair glasses. Remember this: I had no appointment. I had not purchased my glasses there, and she didn't know me from Jack. I haven't had better service from anyone in the past few years than I received from her. Thank you to Lilly, and thank you to the owners at The Optik, who hire the right people with the right attitude and training. If you need new glasses or a minor repair, like I did, I highly recommend that you go to The Optik.

I also went because I had dry eyes and she looked at my eyes, had me blink, and told me about a treatment they offer (not covered by insurance). I said I would think about it and went home with instructions for home care, recommended eye drops and antibacterial eye wipes, and a follow up appointment. At the follow up, Dr. Walker put in eyedrops to check my tear film, examined my eyes, and told me about their treatment offering. I asked if the home therapy had been helping and she replied that she didn't know, she had not put in the drops last time. Since I thought the purpose of the follow up was to see how the home treatment was going, I left a bit surprised. Please note that 3 stars isn't bad. Yelp defines 3 stars as "ok."

The test were basic, the communication was lacking, but I said ok, maybe I am expecting too much. I do have dry eye symptoms and the doctor suggested I come for a different appointment, especially to do the tests for dry eye. At this new dry eye appointment she did some tests but she did not have the special paper to do the tear production test (Schirmer test), so she asked me to come again another time. I asked and have been told that I will not have to pay for a new visit. Fast forward to my bill and YES, this is a new visit, new payment necessary. I called to get answers and I have been told that "this is an extra test that I requested" so it costs extra. Really? I whole appointment dedicated to dry eye and it DOESN'T include a test to see if I produce enough tears?!? Plus the deceit of having been told differently in the beginning. No thank you, I am taking my business elsewhere. Dr Walker just lost herself 4 patients.

We were not thoroughly briefed before the appointment that staff would not be allowed to assist him with the contacts, and that parents weren't supposed to be in the room while he was trying them on. This was a traumatic experience for our son (the contact got stuck in his eye and the doctor had to use a small plunger to pull it out after I begged them to) but especially traumatic as parents watching our child struggle while the staff did...nothing. I hate leaving negative reviews but parents need to be told EXACTLY what to expect so this situation doesn't happen again. No, we will not use this business again nor can we recommend it.

Now that I'm in a place I'll be for a while, I wanted to find someplace to keep coming back to and get familiar with. After looking around, I decided on Bella Vision. Each and every one of the staff was kind and helpful. I interacted with four or five of them. I brought in my new patient form and they were pleasantly surprised I had been prepared. Some places in the past would get annoyed if you weren't, but here they were fully prepared to help you get started. I got the rest of the paperwork from one girl, and handed it to another once I finished- who were both just soft and polite. I was early, so I took a look at the frames while I waited and was helped by another woman to pick out a different color in my selection. She was totally willing and ready to look at each and every color if I wanted. So grateful for their patience. I saved her some time and asked what the blue ones were and got that picked out before I was called back. The beginning tests were quick, and the woman doing them was just as kind as the rest. Finally I went back to see the doctor. All-in-all I was running on time, so I was happy, but my high recommendation polishes off because this was the first doctor to really sit down and tell me what was wrong with my eyes. The first Walmart doctor I had gone to had said it looked bad, but barely explained the full extent. So, for years I went around not knowing how scarred my eye is, and thinking it was just bad astigmatism. I'm so glad to feel like I really know what's going on with my vision and feel like the whole staff cares.

I would strongly encourage you to find another company other than Bella Vision in Bothell for all your vision needs. If you are strictly looking for frames, they are not refundable; there are no signs stating that anywhere in the store. It is also not mentioned when you are checking out. Nikki, the store manager at Bothell Bella Vision requested that I fill out a form the day I bought the $200 Ray Ban frames. I didn't feel it was necessary so Nikki stated "I did not have to fill it out"; it was never mentioned that it was a warranty. When I called two days later to return the frames, I was informed because I didn't sign the paperwork, the warranty was "NULL and VOID". There was a day break from the time I bought the frames before Thanksgiving, and they were closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday. I stayed in town for the weekend to physically stop by on Monday to discuss the frames I bought; they were too big. I told The optical rep, not Nikki, there are no signs anywhere stating frames are not refundable. She said "we tell everybody". I said you didn't tell me! She asked me if I wanted to buy another pair of glasses. Really, another pair of nonrefundable frames. I asked if that made sense to her; she said, "yes". I requested a copy of the alleged warranty paperwork; the sales assistant refused to cooperate. There is no such warranty documentation because I went to another Bella Vision store in the local area and requested the warranty form; it does not exist. It is simply a form to get your name, address, email and phone number possibly for future business. The form is for them not to benefit you. This is how Bella Vision makes money and stays in business by deceiving customers. They tell you after you buy the frames there is no warranty. Unless you get your eye exam, frames, contacts and glasses there, it will not be covered under warranty. I recommend you read the reviews before doing business with this company. Bella Vision in Bothell lied about telling me the frames are not refundable and lied about a warranty for frames. BY THE WAY - the best way to tell customers THERE ARE NO JREFUNDS ON FRAMES is to display signs stating "NO REFUNDS ON FRAMES". There should be a law that a sign displays NO REFUNDS. Be mindful to ask the right questions before you do business with Bella Vision of Bothell. The fact that frames aren't refundable I can live with; however, the dishonesty, lying, deception and unethical business practices is unbelievable! I wish I had read the reviews before going there. He is so pleasant, kind, understanding, professional, and very thorough. We drive from Leavenworth just to see him and he makes it well worth the time and effort and so appreciative as we are of him.
