Funny story, online it showed as one of the view points for sunset. Headed out armed with to- go dinner only to realize its a sunRISE park ... but, the park itself did not disappoint, it has a very welcome vibe to it with several nets, and teenagers playing volleyball, beachball and just having fun......., it made me soo happy to see these traditional team sports on a cool summer evening ..... reminded me of my own growing days.... There is a water front too and people were fishing and a whole lot of ducks were on their evening flying routine..... Its a small park, with considerable parking. Its adjacent to the Boat House, so that is another sport to engage in with family or friends. You can even bring your own paddle boats. A Happy Park overall. read more

This is such a beautiful park, and anytime I visit, I wish we would come here more often. My only complaint would be that it gets very busy and crowded, but I've only come on the weekend, so maybe it's less crowded on the weekdays? I'm not sure. There's usually a nice breeze because its right off the water and they have ample parking and picnic tables. The playground is a good size and lots of fun. read more

An amazing park. Huge playground and picnic area. If you're into nature it's a nice area to walk and to see the ducks. The ducks are so friendly. It's recommend not to feed them but they'll come up to you if they think you have food. It's clean and they also have concerts on Sundays I'm told. Over all a great place if you're searching for parks or just need somewhere new for you and the kiddos. Plus there is a lake view! They also have bathrooms which were clean. read more

Hands-down our favorite park. Whether we want to take a stroll with the kiddo, walk the dogs, or launch a kayak, this is our go-to. The grounds are well kept, the ducks & geese love to hang out here, and the views are stellar. Beautiful & picturesque. It was very nice walking around the surrounding business and homes little over 4 miles of a paved loop that you could easily venture off and enjoy time browsing or having a bite or drink with a friend. read more

Why 5 stars? Because this is the closest thing to Florida that we've found. --- --- -- I was recently browsing the top-rated places in The Woodlands and stumbled upon this, which was pretty much the only non food or drink "business" in the top 100 or so. The photos looked great, so we decided to plan an outing around coming here. We moved to the area last year from Tampa and have definitely missed the tropical vibes of Florida. But this park certainly felt very similar to one in downtown Tampa that's also on the water. There are multiple playgrounds here, some for younger kids and some for bigger ones. There are pavilions, open fields and picnic tables on the water. There's something called the Boat House and there are people paddle boarding in the water. Even the bathrooms are nice for a park. I'm sure we didn't even see everything because our child prevented us from leisurely checking everything out. But we loved our experience here. The only negative is that parking was tough -- we had to drive around the lot for a while until we found someone who was leaving. And it was even more chaotic when we left with people fighting over ever spot that was opening. The perfect weather probably had something to do with that. read more

This park has a scenic advantage as it's on the lake. Within the park, there is a playground, volleyball area and picnic areas. It has restrooms and water fountains too. The park is enjoyable for families and pets! Husband & I enjoyed walking the trails within the park & along the road. Highly recommend! read more

Excellent location for an evening stroll with the kids. Great photo ops! There's so many chilled things to do here. Walk along the lake & watch the paddle boarders. Sit on the boardwalk with a picnic. People watch. Stop at Restaurants bars along the way. Lots of people, great atmosphere. read more

Enjoyed this park since our kids were babies many years ago. It was recently redone and is great for families, volleyballers, grillers, paddlers and generally anyone. Good boat launch for electric power trailer boats, sail boats and anything you can paddle. Many miles of bike trails and inexpensive mobikes for rent from app. Great to see so many kayaks, SUPs, canoes, sailboats etc. read more

North shore park is beautiful. There's a play area for kids with swings, rock climbing, jungle gyms, slides, etc. There are also trails for walking, a TON of ducks to watch, and a few exercise stations scattered throughout the park. The place is well maintained and has plenty of options for all of your families needs. read more

Just a nice place, not too far from home, to sit down, look at the ducks, look out over the water and CHILL. Kinda has the Lake Balboa vibe in LA, but without the smog. Boy, this is a great park! And the neighborhood certainly knows it! At around 4p on a Saturday, this place was absolutely mobbed. But my little boy still had a great time, so that's all that matters, right? I think his favorite part was feeding the ducks and pigeons at the lake (even though there's a sign not to do so, EVERYONE is doing it. Someone gave us their left-over bread). And don't worry about that lake - there's a gate surround the playground so your little ones aren't likely to make a fast escape to the water. I love that they have those swings that are meant for parent and child - an adult swing on one side and a supportive swing for baby that move together. But on a busy day, expect a wait as there are only two of these. I think hubby was most impressed with the "elevator" for the kids. There's a pole with a small platform to stand on that they can ride from the second level back down to the ground. You can't ride it back up, but when it's empty it moves back up on it's own for the next child. There's a section that I think is meant for slightly older kids. It looked like an awesome spider web/ropes course. If I weren't huge and pregnant, I would've been trying it out myself!! read more

The park itself is somewhat small, but it has great views of Lake Woodlands. I also love that it has a trail which will connect you to Southshore Park. The trail has lots of trees which provide a barrier between you and some of the busier streets. There are also some really nice views. read more

Our family love Northshore park! Such a beautiful, peaceful and excellent location for this park. It is merely a 5 minute drive from home. Perfect to come here for an evening of walking the trails, have the kids enjoy the playground or watch the ducks. We will for sure be back again! read more

A fantastic place to spend a relaxing afternoon. I came here for an event but the hundreds of people milling around didn't detract from what this park had to offer. Great open spaces for fun and games, a body of water which always ads to the serenity of a place and a very creative play area. I was especially impressed by the mini rock climbing wall that was there for the kids to play on. Add a concert stage, clean facilities and seating options and you have a wonderful place to get away with friends and family. read more

This is a beautiful park in the Woodlands. It is pretty large and offers some good site seeing and they even do concerts every week during the good weather season. I would give it a five but I have other parks in The Woodlands that I and my kids enjoy even more. They playground is pretty big and you can always find people there with their family as well. If you live close by, I highly recommend that you check them out! read more

Northshore park is a great place to have a picnic, or bring your kids to play. It loses a star because there are barely any walking or biking paths. There are free concerts on Sunday nights throughout the year, we may have to come back and check one out! There are also places to launch your kayak into the adjacent Lake Woodlands. read more

This park has it all. We came here on a very beautiful Saturday afternoon to celebrate my son's. When we arrived, It was extremely crowded and I expected not to even find a picnic table or BBQ pit for our burgers. We did eventually find one that was surrounded by a lot of trees and right next to the lake. Their is so much you can do at this park. To start, they have a nice size playground for the little kids. Then there's a pretty good size grass-field where the bigger kids can play football, soccer, frisbee and much more. We saw several people pulling up with their kayaks and putting them in the water, some were fishing. Like I said this park has it all. Even my dogs had fun. :) read more

This is what parks should be. A nice big boat ramp and dock to fish off if your parents dont trust you with a boat (like me). Huge play equipment which I think gets upgraded every year (seriously, my generation of woodlands kids got shafted). This place hosts occasional concerts and has several grill areas to accommodate the amount of people that go there all the time. If you want to play football, ultimate frisbee, ect. this is the place to go. It has the largest open field in all of the Woodlands (except maybe the Falcon Wing soccer fields). Either way, best park in the woodlands! read more

What an amazing Park. We love to visit the ducks, walk the paths, watch the kayaking and our boys love playing in the play yard. They also have 2 volleyball courts. A gazebo and picnic benches. We love the concerts in the park when they have them. We love riding our bikes here. read more

Plenty of parking, great location and family friendly. They have free live music from time to time and I've always had a great time here. It's ok for a quick day trip if you live close. The lake is decent to paddle on but don't expect to see anything too interesting. It can get pretty crowded too. Especially near the short waterway to the boathouse. Overall it's decent. The only real complaint I have is how rude the rowing club leader is. read more

I initially thought they were closed because the gate had the lock still on it (in a locked position) but luckily, someone advised me that they were actually open. So, don't go by appearances and actually tug on the door! There are two relatively small parking lots that fill up quickly but there is also street parking available.

This one has a beautiful lake with a waterfall which cascades over a bridge walkway. The meandering shape of the lake is just so graceful and relaxing to look upon. Some cool features are the fact you can walk down to the waters edge and just take in the beauty of the water gently splashing up on the grassy shores with big Texas shade trees and baby ducks sleeping in the grassy areas. Sit on the walkway wall right above the waterfall and watch the waterfall as you drift away daydreaming mindlessly without a care in the world. Catch and release fishing. You can ride your bike up to the waters edge or drive your car and just park on the side. There use to be many large wild ducks and geese which would walk across Cochrans Crossing and hold up traffic. Don't seem to see the big wild ones anymore. If you do and are new to this park don't feed them. They'll come running fast after you and will ATTACK. I've been chased out by them snapping at the bottom of my jeans. I even had to throw pine cones on the ground to deter them letting them think it was food to escape. Anyway it seems like the LARGE WILD ATTACK DUCKS have moved on and the park is back to a more ZEN feeling.
