Been wanting to check this place out bc it looks so cute. The outdoor dining is in an old parking lot with cute lights, tables, music. Just a good vibe. Chalk drawings on the driveway pavement it's just fun. Indoors had a 2 man bad playing. We had good drinks and good food. I had really good grilled mahi tacos and my husband really liked his mahi sandwich! Would definitely come back. Perfect for a casual dinner vibe. read more

We stopped in for bar food. Our favorite go to the test the pub is classic wings and nachos. These did not disappoint both. My wife and I absolutely loved the nachos. I really liked the wings. My wife didn't really like the touch of smoky taste, but she's no wing expert. I typically don't like when they have a smoky taste to them, but these wings were fried with a great layer of sauce and just a hint of grill smoke on them. I thought they were Terrific. Definitely gonna try this again server if we're wonderful. The set up was nice a typical style bar use shape with high top seating and standard seating. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT COME HERE. This was one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences I've ever experienced in my whole life. I originally had a reservation for 8:00 PM but emailed to change it to 8:30 PM. The restaurant confirmed the change in writing. Later, when I received a text confirmation showing 8:00 PM, I called to verify the reservation time and was told it was 8:30 PM. I called a second time later that day just to be safe and was again told everything was set for 8:30 PM. We arrived at 8:36 PM expecting to be seated for our 8:30 reservation. Instead, owner Fatima Basit immediately told us that our reservation had been canceled because we had missed the 15-minute grace period for an 8:00 PM reservation. I explained that the reservation had been changed to 8:30 PM, that I had received written confirmation of the change, and that I had called twice to verify it. Rather than acknowledging that there may have been a mistake somewhere, she immediately became argumentative and repeatedly questioned whether what I was saying was true. What bothered me most wasn't the reservation mix-up. Mistakes happen. It was the attitude. There was no attempt to understand what had happened, no apology for the confusion, and no effort to find a solution. The conversation became confrontational almost immediately. At one point she aggressively questioned employees in front of us about whether they had spoken to me on the phone. The employees looked visibly uncomfortable, and the whole interaction felt unnecessarily hostile. We had specifically planned our evening around watching the Knicks game there and were really looking forward to it. Instead, we spent the start of the night arguing over a reservation that had been confirmed for 8:30 PM both by email and over the phone. I've been coming to LBI for decades and was excited to support this business. Unfortunately, after the way we were treated, we left and won't be returning. The reservation error itself was frustrating, but the owner's rude, dismissive, and confrontational behavior is what made this experience so disappointing. read more

We came to this place on the first night of our week in LBI. We were not greeted by a host and there was a sign to seat yourself so we did. We then waited another 10 minutes for a waiter to come over who asked if the host had seated us. Very confusing set up but we were taken care of shortly after that. Wings and spicy shrimp were great for apps. We oddly got only drums. The rest of our table had smash burgers, eggplant parm and salads. Everything was solid but the ambiance is definitely odd. Went to Northside this past weekend and it was a great experience. The food was delicious! We had the pretzels to share for the table and I had the drunken chicken parm. What really made our experience so great was our waitress Sydney. She was attentive , cheerful , funny and came and checked on us the perfect amount of time. Northside Bar & Grille has become our go-to for our first stop once we unpack here at LBI. The drinks here are always delicious and the food is very good. Service is usually great, but can be spotty depending on the time of week/day/summer. I love the feel here because it's just the perfect LBI bar. Today we ordered drinks and appetizers to share. Mango habanero Margaritas, watermelon Margarita, and a Moscow Mule. For appetizers we got the hot pretzels, bang bang calamari, chicken wings, and coconut shrimp. We visited for late lunch to get some draft beer and watch football. There are many TVs, so watching sports is easy. The service was courteous. They were out of several draft beer selections. We had tuna bites to start, and they were very good. I had a chorizo smash burger that was tasty and not very spicy. These fries were good, but unevenly done. We decided to grab a bite and found this place on Yelp . The bartender was really nice and attentive , place is cute and they make good food , we had the smashed burger , drunken clams and Asiago risotto rice balls . The burger and clams were really good , but the rice balls were a bit to small and has no seasoning . The other thing that got me was the fact that half of the staff has no idea about the food on the menu , we asked a few questions and they didn't know the answer :( They have live entertainment but for the short time I was there in all honesty they need to upgrade their music choice cause the guy singing that day was struggling . read more

Edited 8/5/25: I avoid gluten, so I had the peaches and burrata salad, which was quite tasty. Not many GF options on menu (i.e no GF bun). This is a note, not a criticism. The jalapeno poppers were very good. My only real complaint was my drink. A pineapple mule. I love most types of mules because they have a little kick (between the alcohol and the ginger beer) which makes them refreshing on a hot day. This one was very weak. I am editing this to add that the manager reached out to me and took everything very seriously and not only offered a refund (which was NOT what I was looking for) but also invited me back to make things right. I truly appreciate responsive and good business and I always believe in 2nd chances so I suggest you all give it a try. Of note, the place was loud, but it is a beach bar at the Jersey shore soooooo that's kind of on me. Just wanted to give a heads up if you're noise sensitive. This place definitely is chill and casual with a limited but something for everyone and a good place to pick if you need a time out from seafood inclusive restaurants. It's a clean good size space with a cute outdoor area. We had the ahi tuna bites to start. They need to tone down the blackened seasoning a bit, it's overpowering and i could only do one 1/2 pieces because it's HOT! My husband and I both got burgers. I had a simple cheeseburger served on a delicious pretzel bun. That burger was a 10/10. My husband also enjoyed the bbq bacon burger. Fries were soggy but I was too busy enjoying the burger to really care. My concerns: the staff. They all seem on edge or not happy. Our server told us the owner was pushing her to get our order in and get our menus off the table. As the daughter of a restaurant manager this is a horrible practice especially for a vacation spot. Second time visiting here and this time was not as good due to some staff hiccups and some mixups with the drinks and entrees, however what I did like about this place is its a cool beach element and the inside is a lot larger than you would think. The menu here is a collection of sandwiches, seafood and burgers, the burgers are tasty, and what I did like about this place, the management took the time to reach out and thank me for patronizing the eatery and went above and beyond to make sure the staff did better next time, and not only that, they care about the quality of their food. Went here for dinner 2 nights ago. The vibe was very cute--we sat outside; consists of a bunch of picnic tables and small games (I.e. bean bag toss). It was pretty crowded when we got there around 7:30 (on a Sunday night), there were only about 2 tables available. There was live music which we were excited about but I say this with no foul intention...we were very disappointed. The musician was playing the guitar and singing very quietly and slurring his words. He was unpleasant to listen to while eating our meal. As for the food we--a group of 6 of us--had the crab Mac and cheese, lobster roll, chicken tenders, and salads. The drinks (lemonade, root beer, and cocktails) were all very sweet; the soft drinks were definitely from cans or bottles and the cocktails sounded creative but lacked flavor and taste. The food was missing salt and sauce. The fries may have been the worst I have ever eaten. The crab Mac was the best dish but I would say that was only about a 7/10 as the cheese on top was more of a crust and we ended up picking around it. We skipped dessert and won't be coming back. The staff was all very nice and accommodating and the service was quick it just wasn't great food. Bottom line the vibe here was cuteish but not worth wasting a meal on. As a local we surprisingly were here for the first time. Great atmosphere and it was busy but not overly crowded. For post Memorial Day on LBI that's hard to find. Drinks were great. Attentive, personable and a joy to have wait on us! I also sat at the bar a few other times and the bartenders were excellent as well, both the young blonde woman (forgot the name, I apologize) and the young man, Ethan. Drinks and some snacks were fast and service was great again. I look at some of the other reviews and shake my head. I visited The Northside Bar and Grill today with my mom and niece. We were a party of 5 which also included two littles. We arrived around 2pm and were immediately seated and given menus. Our server was Brooke and she was amazing! She was obviously busy with a few tables but always stopped by to make sure we were doing ok. We ordered lots of stuff to share. Coconut shrimp, Hawaiian bbq wings, a chipotle burger, a chicken torta wrap and the kids had linguine marinara. Everyone enjoyed all the food!! The drinks were really really amazing. Raspberry mojitos and a coconut rum painkiller. I was honestly blown away by how delicious these specialty drinks were! I would highly recommend eating here. I really don't know what's with all the negative reviews. We visited on a Saturday night and got a great table outside to watch a beautiful sunset. We ordered and shared a nacho platter, bang, bang, shrimp, peach Barada salad... All were very, very good. This place was the main event of our week trip in Surf City LBI. We went every day for happy hour 1p-4p for drinks and appetizers! Everything was delicious and we tried everything on the happy hour menu! The workers were so sweet and helpful, there was plenty of seating and they even let us move the tables around so we were in the shade! The place is very fun with outdoor games and outdoor bar, loved the ambiance! The onion rings were amazing, the fries were amazing, the wings were crispy and flavorful and we loved the Korean bbq, the lemon pepper and the Hawaiian. I also got the burrata and grilled peaches and it was the freshest burrata I ever tasted and the grilled peaches were juicy and ripe. I tried to avoid this place every time I drive by only because it is always packed and I should have listened to my intuition because I decided to "give it a try" on a Saturday late night and I wished I would have just gotten a slice of pizza instead. We stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes before someone came over and when she finally did , she proceeded to blame the other girl who was supposed to be there but was busy bussing tables. She then scolded the girl right in front of us telling her she couldn't leave the hostess station. Once we finally got sat our server eventually came over and was rushed and seemed like the last place she wanted to be was working. She didn't seem to care one bit and might as well have just said "what do you want?". We placed our order which was terrible and when she came over to check she said everything okay? To which I said not really and she just walked away. Food: As indicated above. It was terrible. I went in with low expectations but didn't expect it to be completely in edible. Our drinks did not taste like what we ordered, And we kept it simple for the food. 2 smash burgers cooked medium well. The burgers were both cooked medium rare at best and the fries tasted like they were from 2 weeks ago. soggy and just not fresh. We asked to see a manager and she took care of the bill. I still reluctantly left a tip for the server only because I used to wait tables in the city back int he day during college and I know that is what servers live off of, but she really didn't deserve it. As a visitor to the area and working in the food industry it's hard for me to ever review an establishment as I am aware things happen that can lead to not a favorable experience. This is not one of those situations. My family and I stop by this establishment yearly when here and I always have good service, food, and drinks. Today, I want to give kudos to an exceptional waitress by the name of Karsyn who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and to make this more of a home style experience. We're from Beach Haven but we went to a craft fair in Harvey Cedars and decided to branch out to a restaurant out of our neighborhood since we so rarely leave our area when dining out. I was blown away. It looks like a fun American light fare bar & restaurant and it is, don't get me wrong. But it's not like most of its kind. The food all feels from scratch. The fries are homemade vs from a frozen bag. The fish tacos were super fresh, the Caesar salad nicely dressed with homemade croutons. It's almost sad how shocked I was to find such good food. The outside atmosphere was great with colorful tables/chairs, a great one man band and attentive servers. I would return, if I could muster up driving 6-7 miles away for lunch. read more
