Overall just okay ... I went with a group of 8, one being a toddler. We started with pigs in a blanket, pork belly, calamari, and shrimp tempura. All were tasty but portion sizes were small. Calamari seemed really small sized as well. Drinks were good but very slow. We were told someone was training on the bar, but apps were out before drinks arrived. We asked for lemon a few times in a cocktail and it never came, we were told a sazerac cocktail was sold out but weren't told which ingredient was out and it seemed like standard ingredients for a bar to have. Steak frites was okay, it was hard to cut with the regular knife and needed more seasoning. Ribeye needed a lot of love in the seasoning department and also was very hard to cut without a steak knife. Frites was supposed to have special fries with it, though were identical to the kids meal fries my daughter got. Over all the food was just fine. Hot chicken sandwich was really just a buffalo chicken sandwich. Not something I'm eager to go back to, but I've had worse meals. The server was also just fine ... he didn't give us specials until we asked. We're pretty sure he forgot to ring in our shrimp tempura based on how long it came to come after the rest of our apps. Hollow Pine was such a refreshing departure from the usual Thai Table Restaurant Group concept. Instead of a seafood-focused menu, they offer a really diverse selection with something for everyone--great sandwiches, steaks, pastas, and creative appetizers. We started with the spicy salmon crispy rice, a chopped Caesar salad, and mozzarella sticks with vodka sauce. The Caesar salad was outstanding--freshly chopped, homemade dressing (we opted for no anchovies), all served over an oversized garlic bread crouton that was incredible. The spicy salmon crispy rice was fresh, flavorful, and had subtle hints of cilantro that really elevated it. For our entrées, we split the burger, which was solid but not the standout of the meal. My daughter absolutely devoured the gnocchi with pesto and artichokes, and my husband loved the pork chop with fingerling potatoes--it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We were too full for dessert, but everything on the menu sounded tempting for next time. The atmosphere is what really sets Hollow Pine apart. The interior feels like something you'd find in Vermont, with a warm, rustic ski lodge aesthetic that's both elegant and inviting. Outside, there's a standalone bar, live music, cornhole, and they even welcomed dogs on the patio, which was a huge bonus. This is such a fantastic addition to the area, and we'll absolutely be back. West Creek NJ 5 Star Restaurant? What a great place. Walked in about 5:30 on Friday night, table for 2 (wait 30 mins, not horrible!) Ended up, upstairs at the bar, ended up having dinner at the bar. Great drinks, amazing food, and FAST service! Had the grilled oysters & pibecracker shrimp which both were fantastic. Then skirt steak, and cooper sharp cheese burger with no bun- and we shared side salad & grilled broccoli. Our meal was sensational- cooked to perfection, great flavor.... Our server was prompt and courteous. The ambiance is great. This is a spacious restaurant with a beautiful bar area. We walked around and checked out the duckpin bowling lanes. Most importantly our lunches were delicious. The French dip sandwich and the burger( medium) were perfectly cooked. Our side salads were fresh and dressings were good. The $8.00 charge for a bottle of Saratoga still water was excessive so I would check their other beverage charges before ordering one.... But we had a great lunch. read more

The duckpin bowling bartender, Mike, was very friendly and allowed me to discard my garbage rather than putting it on the ground. Winter farro salad needs to be renamed Winter quinoa salad since there was way more quinoa than farro in it and barely any feta. We all said we would not try this place again. read more

Went for lunch. The place is very nice. Bar looked awesome. Visually the restaurant is beautiful. Started with the garlic wings. They were very good. I had the hot chicken sandwich. Absolutely awful. Looked and tasted like the ends of chicken all scooped up and piled on a bun. Stringy and impossible to chew. Couldn't eat it. Terrible. The wife had the short rib. Dry and overcooked. Didn't the management ever hear, it's what the customer needs and wants, not what management thinks is a logical policy??? A beautiful place and decent food. Unfortunately, not a positive impression. Meals were delivered to our table but not the meals we ordered. While paying for our check was told by the waiter you don't need to respond to the questions, I'm busy. In fairness, when the meals were served they were very good-but don't order the calamari. Went downstairs and sat down to have an after dinner drink. Ordered a glass of wine but didn't need a glass covered in lipstick. When I brought it to the servers attention she apologized and took it back. The bartender proceeded to wipe the lipstick off the glass to return it me. I got up, went to the bar and said no way. She then poured the wine into another glass as if that was ok. When I told her no way she stated "that's what we do here". I asked to speak to a manager and she told me was the manager. I hope this establishment does well, but they certainly have some staffing issues that need to be addressed. read more

Highly recommend!!!! Hollow Pines is the best addition to West Creek! The building inside & out is absolutely stunning! Atmosphere and food was amazing! We got the pull apart pigs in a blanket, homemade mozz sticks, the short rib parpadelle, a burger and a few different drinks. Everything, delicious! We ordered food and drinks and sat at the high tables in the back. Food and drinks were good. Spent $400 for 4 people. About 10 minutes after we paid we were finishing drinks and a lady from the front came up and said "how was everything? We have quite the wait, so it's about that time. Time to go." The restaurant interior and the grounds with fire pits and outside bar were great. The bowling alley was very cool. Service was pleasant. Drinks were good and wings and grilled oysters were delicious. The oysters were very small though and probably not worth the price. The dinners were Not up to par though. I had the fish sandwich. It was saturated in grease and the fish was mushy. Very disappointing when I compare the quality to Tide Table's other restaurants. There is only one burger offered and my wife wasn't thrilled with it. Ate half and didn't take the other half home. Another person in our party had the salmon which she said was good. I'll give it another try someday for happy hour because the place is very nice to have a couple drinks at. But I'll hold off on another dinner for a while. read more

We came for lunch with a party of three. The building and grounds are very nice. The bar is amazing to look at. We started with veggie fries. Greasy and overbaked, with virtually no zucchini inside. The large pretzel was the best part of the meal. The hot chicken sandwich. Absolutely awful. Looked and tasted like the ends of chicken, if you could find any chicken with a microscope. The Lasagna sounded great with homemade noodles and venison. The cheese on top was so thick and overcooked that I removed it, leaving hardly any lasagna. The portion of potato gnocchi was small and had burnt Brussels sprouts bits mixed in. We came hungry and looking forward to a good meal. We left hungry and disappointed in the poor quality of food and the overpriced menu. As locals, we will not be back. read more

The place is absolutely beautiful inside, but if you're coming here for good food, don't bother. Went there for the first time and was very disappointed in every aspect. The prices are pretty high, probably to pay off the brand new building. That would be acceptable if the food was fantastic, which it is not. We got two appetizers, the calamari, and the pork belly. It was The smallest calamari appetizer I have ever seen in my life, and it was not very good tasting at all. Overcooked and rubbery. As far as the pork belly, two minuscule tiny pieces of pork belly that were burnt. As far as the entrées, the fish and chips was just a tad under being burned, the steak frites a tiny portion, and also very overcooked. The burger was the only thing in our group of people that was decent. I had the duck with ham hock, and the duck was overcooked and very dry, there was no ham hock, just tiny little pieces mixed in with the duck. as far as the flavor goes, there isn't any. I don't know who they have running the kitchen, but they should probably fire them and get new people who know how to season food and cook it properly. I don't see this place lasting very long unless they can survive on selling drinks only. read more
