His customer service skills were second to none...I did not understand that the scaffolding was priced by section, so when I asked Jarrett about it, he gave me the lower price without Hesitation and without attitude...that's a rarity today for most businesses...Northside is too notch! Rented a 28" chainsaw from Frank Davis at the Buckhead location. He gave me the chainsaw, chainsaw oil and a full can of gas telling me to make sure I brought back the gas can because there was a $10 charge if it was missing. I extended my hand and we shook. Upon returning the equipment he asked me for the plastic bottle that the chainsaw oil was in. I asked him what he needed it for as it was just a standard plastic disposable quart bottle that held oil. Fortunately, I had the empty bottle in the back of the truck and I gave it to him. This did not sit well with me. Again this is a standard DISPOSABLE plastic bottle that anyone would throw away. While in the store, I again asked me why he needed the empty disposable plastic bottle and he said that they buy chainsaw oil wholesale and refill them. I told him the bottle I received was brand new and he sheepishly tried to tell me they refill them in the back and I just got lucky by getting a brand new bottle. This was pure B.S. I was so glad that I had extended my hand and shook his when I picked up the equipment. I didn't extend my hand to shake his upon leaving and he knew that he was being a total scumbag. People, there is a $12 dollar surcharge if the cheap, disposable bottle is not returned! This is more than the surcharge for a missing gas can and the gas can is not disposable! Why wouldn't they bother to buy cases of quart bottles wholesale to give to their customers? Apparently these people have figured out that it is better to milk the customer for everything you can than it is to get their repeat business. That the line item to return the chainsaw oil is on the sales contract is immaterial. When I rent a chainsaw, I shouldn't have to bring a lawyer or be on guard for fear of getting ripped off! Why didn't he give me a verbal to return the chainsaw oil bottle as he did with the gasoline can? I will also mention that they will add every option to your sales contract they can as if you had requested it. If there is something you don't want to pay for you have to ask them to take it off. I guess it is more profitable to be a dirt bag that to be a customer oriented businessman. Buyer beware! Be on guard when you do business with these people. They are more interested in hosing you for everything they can instead of trying to earn your repeat business! read more

Had a need for a pressure washer & was able to reserve on-line with a simple submission. When I arrived - the equipment was ready, Hugh quickly accepted payment & advised me that I did not need any additional cleaning solutions. 5 Stars for not selling me something that I would have easily purchased - Kudos for these guys having the customers best interest in mind. I have been using NTR since the early 80's and I continue to get the same great service today. I have cheated on them occasionally with Home Depot but HD has terrible service, takes forever to rent something, the equipment usually has problems and I always kick myself for using them. Frank and Alden are always helpful and if they don't have something in their store they find who has one and locks it in for me. If there is ever a problem with any equipment they swap it out immediately. Problems are a rarity since they have full time mechanics on staff and they fix any problem when it comes in. Home Depot just throws it back on the shelf so when the next person rents it the problem still exists. Don't go anywhere else! read more

I rented a carpet vacuum. The gentleman on the phone (who's name I remember but won't mention) was courteous enough and seemed helpful. I was excited at the time to find a local shop that I could rent a carpet vaccum from rather than from Home Depot (who had poor reviews for their machine) and Ace Hardware (who was out of rentals). Plus, I like to support local businesses... I ended up picking up a behemoth (both in size and weight) of a machine that looked straight from the 70's...why I bothered to even take it home is my fault, but despite my optimism and trust in this company..."of course they wouldnt rent me a poor quality machine". IT DIDN'T CLEAN DIDLY SQUAT. I'm really going off here, but the machine even required you to boil you're own hot water to make it work...I mean really????? The tank could hold 1/2 a bath-tubs worth; how the heck are you going to heat up that much water. I could go on, but I don't want to be too terrible in my review. I guess the disappointment was the fact that they seemed like nice guys who would be honest; but what the service was so lame, cheap, and incredibly inconvenient. How can they even pass this for service? I felt like they wasted so much of my time---from getting the massive machine into my car, to hauling it home, hauling it into the house, heating up tons of water to get it to work, go through the trouble of moving my furniture around to clean the actual carpet, only to find that it wouldn't pick up any dirt....The carpet looked ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENT, even after we went over it maybe 5x...verrrryyyy slowwwwwlllyyyy tooo. And had it worked, because it was so huge, it would have taken the whole weekend. Ok, im done iwth my vent :) (Forgot to add, we explained all this to the same gentleman when returning and asked for a refund of some sort, but were declined...) read more
