With our server Kim leading the way we had a great time! It was a usual Monday night and she was covering the floor solo. She did a magnificent job. We started with the Cowboy Caviar, and it was underwhelming. The chips seemed to be made on-site, but were not fresh and the "Caviar" was a black bean salsa. Which was watery and bland. We ordered the signature food of South Dakota, Chislic which was fried pieces of a delicious steak. Well cooked, nicely presented, and worth a taste. We had a local lager from the Fernson Brewery, a local Sioux Falls Brewery. Overall a great place. Solid "B" with a return again and again vibe. read more

Food is always great and never had issues with the service; until last night. There was a new manager on staff and was very disappointed in her demeanor. She was flirting way too much with the male staff and male patrons and was being very unprofessional! (Felt like I was in a sleezy bar ) She didn't go around and see how the patrons liked their food or to stop by their table and just welcome them. I was very disappointed and hope she's not there to stay as I think she will turn a lot of business away!! read more

Wow, the food was really really good, which really gives the compliment to the service that was even better. The bread pudding was probably the best I have had and I have had bread pudding from coast to coast... But Tanya and the rest of the staff is what makes this place special. May 17th 2026 When out for supper with my daughters and a couple of friends. They were not busy. We waited for over 5 minutes for the waiter to come over and give us menu. I ordered a dinner salad and didn't get it until the main meal came out. The food was barely warm. The service was awful. I ordered the infamous bowl the potato's was nonexistent it was more like a brown gravy corn and cheese soup will chicken bites in it. The other food looked good and they do have big portion. Typlically their food is really good. good pub food. Today I have the chimichang and it was terrible. Apperance looked good. but the meat and rice on the inside want not even warm. There was shredded cheese on the inside that wasn't even melted. The waiter said it was one of his favorites and he highly recommended it even over some of the burgers. he didn't even follow up to see what I thought. Very disappointing!!! read more

HORRIBLE experience We go to eat around 8 pm tonight (Saturday night). They burned our drinks (my Bloody Mary and my husband's Morgan Coke) didn't bring the ice water ordered until half way through meal. "Ruffage" was supposed to come with Ribeye dinner, but was charged $7 for a "house salad" Ribeye was over cooked and served with fries instead of the mashed potatoes it states on the online menu and in-restaurant menu. Server tried taking our appetizer to another table initially. Then a young man from kitchen brought out my house salad. When I brought it to server attention about overcooked ribeye and no mashed potatoes, she asked if I wanted mashed instead. Then asked if gravy ok on it. I said yes. The mashed potatoes and gravy were ice cold. Didn't eat them. My husband said his French Dip was "ok" and he did like his cheese balls. One thing that was really inappropriate imo, another female staff came over with window spray foam and started cleaning the window about 2 feet away from us while I was eating my salad and my husband was eating his appetizer. The spray was blowing in our direction as we breathed in the chemicals and I about gagged! I didn't say anything. I think we were both shocked that she would do that so close to our table while we were eating! Halfway through our meal, a different male from the kitchen tried to serve a side salad. I said I already got my house salad earlier as we were almost done eating I said maybe it belonged to the couple 2 tables away. He said No, it says Table 6. He proceeded to head back to kitchen with it. Server brought our ticket with 2 beers added on it (we didn't even order beer). They did take off the Ribeye and removed the 2 beers after my husband pointed it out. The tab was still $43 and change (for 2 drinks, appetizer, $7 House salad (which should've been no charge or maybe an up charge of a couple dollars from a side salad), and his sandwich Out server did say sorry about the steak and mashed potatoes and gravy. Then proceeded to say, "Yeah it's probably not the best time to come here to eat (8 pm on a Saturday night) that the best time to eat there is lunch time. Wow! Well we probably won't be back ma'am. We were taken here for lunch while working at a customer jobsite. The service was fast and friendly. I was looking for low carb options and this wasn't the place for that. I went with a chef salad and it was better that I would've expected there but not what I was in the mood for either. It was my only option though. The iced tea was also on the weak side. I'm sticking with 4 stars because I can't fault them for not being a place I would've picked on my own. They did what they do well. read more

Amazing place to eat!!! About didn't come here because of the ratings. However super glad we did. Portion size wasn't huge for the price but I walked away stuffed afterwards. The flat fries....YESSSSS!!!! Between a French fry and a kettle chip. Yummmmm!!! Definitely recommend. (Close to the hockey rink too!). Plus we did show up with about 10 kids and 15 adults and they handled it well. read more

The ambiance of this restaurant could use some work. It's a brightly lit sports bar, but the acoustics of the building allow you to hear everyone's conversation. It could use some background music or something to nullify neighboring conversations. The food was middle of the road but service was timely and the boss made sure we had everything we needed. Was seated outside by a staff member and waited over 10 minutes before our server ever showed. Ordered an appetizer and the cheese curds were gross and extremely soggy and greasy. Ordered two beers, a burger, fish, and one additional beer during the meal and bill came to $49! Food itself was average. Patio is loud due to highway traffic. Ordered the Northstar cheeseburger with fries, wife had shrimp basket with fries. Menu is small which can be a good thing. Service was great! Their fries are flat, new to me. I didn't want to like them but I did! Food all around was good, forgot to order the burger med rare and it came well done but had fresh flavor and wasn't dry so I take that as a sign of good beef and a good cook. Dart machines and jukebox, plenty of parking, lunch special and happy hour. Now it's sounding like a paid endorsement but it's not. I would recommend the place for a good meal. read more

Was there recently on a Fri night. 1st impression of the place is that it was very loud at capacity, I don't think they put in hardly any sound proofing/deadening and everyone's voice seemed to bounce off the walls. Food: their cheese curds were amazing as an appetizer. I had a sirloin steak ordered medium, my friends was medium rare. Hers came back looking like it was done medium mine on the other hand was so well done that there was literally no juices running out of it. I knew immediately because you could actually tell that it was well without cutting into it, burnt and dry. I cut into it show the owner who actually had brought out the food and he agreed that it was well done. Steak was sent back for a reorder. 2nd sirloin reorder steak came back rare. It was raw and almost cold in the middle. The owner was no where to be found so I just ate it instead of sending it back to be burnt again. The meat was good, their skills on cooking their meat are definitely lacking. The owner didn't take any responsibility or offer a discount or an apology on his cook's lack of skills in cooking a steak made to order. The "ruffage" apparently is only a house salad i asked if i could get a caesar and they served me a regular house salad doused in caesar dressing in a soup bowl. It wasn't good at all I couldn't finish it. If I go back I'll stick with something that I know they can't mess up like an appetizer. Went Northstar for supper, we had 6 people and were excited to try this new place. It was awful and slow service. We ordered shrimp baskets and they were nasty. We had a chicken wrap with cold tasteless mash potatoes. We ordered a 20+ dollar stake Medium and it came out pretty much raw. Our server told her manager and her manager was yelling at the server behind the bar with all the guest to hear. The manager would not take anything off besides three dollars. Will not be returning to this place and do not recommend. read more

First visit and did not leave disappointed. Happy Hour 4-6 daily was a pleasant surprise. Servers were friendly & attentive. My wife had the Chislic & fries which was done perfectly & very tender. First of all, living in Crooks it nice to have a place close by to grab a bite to eat on those evenings after work when I don't feel like cooking. That being said, I was hoping for some gooooood foooood and that's not what we found. The atmosphere is sports bar. Nice place with plenty of parking and enough seating to serve the location. I don't see a lot of SF folks heading north for the food on the menu. Although the menu sounds delicious! Walleye tacos and great sounding burger choices. Even steak and salad and of course, appetizers. We passed on the apps but enjoyed a couple of brewskis. Nice selection. No liquor license which is fine for the menu choices and atmosphere. I had a Gouda Burger with caramelized onions. The beef is described as fresh ground and charbroiled. The server did not ask how I'd prefer it cooked. So it was well done. Expected that, but didn't expect it to be so dry. It was a thick hearty burger. But too dry. The caramelized onions were skimpy and hidden well under the burger. The Gouda cheese slice was on top and not completely melted. I suggest more onion and more melted cheese if your going to serve a well done burger. The fries presented nicely on the plate next to the burger. Thinly sliced steak fries. I personally think it would be nice to offer them with season salt of some sort. The other meal was fish and chips. Nice white Alaskan Cod breaded and fried. Nothing special about it. A little bland with the unseasoned fries. No lemon wedge but there was tartar sauce. We will be back to try some other menu selections! With such a delicious sounding menu I'm sure there something I'll just live and want to come back for. We ate there last Friday, and I ordered their lunch special which was Pot Roast with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. We also ordered some Chislic and Cheese Curds for the table. The Pot Roast was very good; it was incredibly tender and tasted great. The appetizers were great and reasonably priced for the portion. I also tried someone else's fries, and they were perfectly cooked; I may go back just grab a few orders of fries. read more
