I randomly came upon The Cottage one day while driving, I stopped in and was greeted by Dana, the then owner, she was more than happy to give me a tour and introduce me to the teachers each of my children would have. I was instantly in love with the place, it is a school atmosphere, they don't just stick 20 kids in a room and let them go buckwild. Since then The Cottage has been taken over by new owners, Elle and Dustin, who are amazing and very diligent in dealing with any needs or concerns you have. The school has been recently renamed to The Cottage Education and Learning Acadamy, because it is more than just a daycare. Each class has curriculum type schedules, which include Science and Spanish, and parents are always informed of what is being worked on that particular week to keep it going at home. The teachers are amazing and always have the child's best interest at heart. If you are looking for the best school in the area, The Cottage is worth your time to stop and tour. Of course it costs a little more than your average day care, but isn't that the point, it isn't your average daycare! Children remember and learn the most in their youngest years and will carry their experiences with them forever, why not give them the best you can and you will find that at The Cottage!

Cassie and her staff are incredible- not only do they keep you up to date on how your child is adjusting, they actually take the time to learn your child's personality and bond with them. They do art projects with the children and I can honestly say now that our son is with children his own age, he has learned so many new skills. I can't say enough positive things about Cassie and her team!

They focus on play-based learning so there is lots of extra time to play outside and do "centers" inside, which are stations for playing. Kindergarten had plenty of academics as well to balance the play, and they taught Bible as well which I loved. They also offered extra curricular classes like Science and Art Club as well as Gymnastics--all during the school day. I didn't realize my daughter was going to learn Spanish too, which was a nice surprise! We loved Mrs. Cece and Ms. Susan for Kinder! The staff is very loving and caring under Mrs. Donna's leadership.

They even gave me a print out on proper instructions on how to do Corporal punishment. I'm against spanking. If you want your child to be physically restrained and grabbed when he or she is acting out then go here. We hired a professional behavioral specialist to monitor both the teachers and my son while going to the school, she was only allowed to go twice before they expelled him. I ask what are you hiding. They said that they were trained in behavioral Issues in children. My hired professional behavioral Specialist went to this school she stated none of the staff implemented or used any professional tactics against children with behavioral issues. In fact using any forms of violence against children who have behavioral and possible mental illnesses spark and trigger Children to react. We asked all the staff to please not put their hands on our child and they continued all the way up until the day that they expelled him. We are not saying our son is perfect. And we would have never taken our son to the school if they were not trained in behavioral corrections for troubled children. Our son has gotten worse since going here. Beware of the teachers grabbing and forcing children to mind. My son just turned 5.

Because the sisters dont use internet or computers and media as most people do nowadays communication is definitely much slower than one would expect in our day and age. This is in part because the sisters do all the teaching and caring for school grounds etc and they dont hire someone to be secretarty they take turns doing that too so this keeps the cost of the school very affordable. My older daughter seems happy there but she is at the age where the grass is greener on the other side and school is hard. This is normal at this age. I remember going through it as well. She gets along w some of the teachers better than others. Again. Normal. Is the school perfect? No. Are the kids who go their perfect or teachers perfect? No. Theyre human. Most definitely the school is a blessing however challenging it is. Our children nowadays need to learn that they "can do hard things". I wish someone had taken the trouble to teach me this before i became a Mother.
