The unprofessionalism and lieing is astounding. Difficult to express how damaging this entire experience has been. I was a referral from my primary Dentist and I thought I would be in trusting caring hands "Dear Monica, I was referred to Robert J.Ryan DDS by my primary dentist David J. Bohm, DDS to receive an expert opinion on a faint small gray area of my tooth. My intent was to keep my tooth and not have it extracted because I was not in pain. However, after asking Dr. Ryan if there was any possible way to save my tooth, his response was: "Nope it's a goner". After my tooth was extracted and with my face still numb Dr. Ryan mentioned building up the area with bone. I responded: "do what you need to do" regarding my tooth extraction. That was the extent of my consultation that morning. Regarding your letter dated October 12, 2023 is a complete fabrication of events. When you called me prior to my appointment for June 6th of 2023 I asked you if that appointment was a consultation or the procedure? To which you replied: " No, that is for the procedure" My reply "I should probably meet with Dr. Ryan first since I'v never met him prior to the procedure" and you reassured me "that wouldn't be necessary and that I could speak with him for a few minutes before the procedure". I agreed to the appointment because I was referred to Prospect Periodontal & Implant Center by Dr Bohm. Your comment about me "refusing the offer of a separate consult" is false and unfounded , you never extended such an offer. Regarding paragraph 2 of your letter. You never emailed me any options to review. I checked my spam and junk folders to be certain. When I arrived you never once asked me if I had reviewed your emails, because you didn't send them. Regardless, you did not sit down with me to discuss any of these options beforehand, nor did anyone else. Paragraph 5 of your letter regarding "reached out to you on numerous occasions" only after I called several times, emailed your office including on FaceBook's messenger. When I missed your calls I would immediately call back both your office numbers several times to only receive voice mail. Considering the fact that you never answer the phone. What difference would it have made leaving a voice message on Sunday verses your regular business hours, you do not pick up and answer the phone. "Due to the unpleasant incident with you, these courtesies extended to you" What courtesies, your dishonesty. You specifically talked me out of a prior consultation when I had asked you about one. I barely spoke with you when I came in for my appointment. Your speculation that my last voice message "demonstrates a disingenuous attempt in resolving this problem" is snarky and unprofessional. If I had no desire to resolve this issue I would've never bothered to reply. Instead I desperately tried reaching out to your office via phone, email and now by post. I was not threatening to use social media, I am planning on posting my reviews to warn others of my experience. In your letter you falsify events and attack my character, yet, you would like for me to call you to "bring this to a mutually acceptable conclusion" all within the same paragraph. Whom's disingenuous here! At this point there is nothing further to discuss. In my last voice message I asked you to recalculate the charges to a self pay option since you knew from the beginning that Prospect Periodontal & Implant Center was not in my Dental insurance network and would only cover the extraction. I would be willing to pay the difference if there is a remaining balance. Regards,"

After years of dental care---failed fillings, failed root-canals, failed-crowns, implants, bone…read moreloss, failed-implants, not to mention the 10's of thousands of dollars spent and huge "dental-anxiety," I had the great fortune to be introduced to Dr. S. Khan of "Epic Periodontics and Implants." Admittedly, I was skeptical but, went for a consultation. Dr. Khan explained in detail each quadrant of the care and cost of my dental needs. Quite pricey! When she was done, she asked if I was familiar with the "All on Four Implant" system. She went into great detail explaining this system, answered all of my questions and "calmed my fears." In comparing the cost of my necessary repairs and of the "All on Four Implants," it was a no-brainer! I was tired of my many trips to the dentist and made this choice. I feel I need to tell people that this choice is not a "quick-fix", it is a commitment. I had my usual dental-anxiety on surgery day and I am still amazed I had not a single bit of pain. I followed the after care medications to a tee and again, after a lot of prior experiences of terrible pain, I assure you I had none! You do, of course, have to wait through the healing process and are put in temporaries after surgery (same day) which appear as "real-teeth" so, no issues there. You are never "without teeth." Dr. Khan and staff walked me through every single step of my procedures. I knew what to expect and when. I was kept involved in shade choice and several other "tweaks." My phone calls were always returned and I was treated so well!! As I said, this is not a "quick-fix," it's a process and one well-worth having. A new, beautiful and shining smile was the result! So happy I found Dr. Khan and had this procedure--no more tooth pain ever for me!! My only regret is not meeting with her sooner to have this procedure!!

Sent out all the paperwork again and even called. Never received a call. I have been requesting money for the anesthesia that I got billed for two hours and I only had anesthesia for 45 minutes. That's $600.00 an hour. So that's a big chunk of money to charge me for. So they fully know that they owe you money, but they refuse to do the honorable thing and give it back to you, which is probably why they have six offices. This is horrible practice and I don't know how they sleep at night screwing patients over. Apparently no one had any conscience at this place. Each step was explained thoroughly, with plenty of time for questions. Dr DeGroot followed up with me after each procedure, and made sure I was healing with no complications. The process is long, and I couldn't wait for it to be over, but I was very happy with how I was treated and how everything turned out in the end. Doc Romano is not only a great dentist/periodontist but he's a good man and his daughter who joined the practice turned out to be great people too! The admin staff seem okay but had a habit of not returning calls for 3 or so days which I was not a fan of in terms of service level. Loved Siena (dentist daughter) she was very cool and fun to chat with... her Dad was alright but seemed to over-explain basic dental procedures which made me think the demographics of clients were not critical thinkers... This is the…read moredental practice where you can go in, get your teeth cleaned or a cavity filled and actually fall asleep in the dental chair. I know because I've done it. They are that gentle. Dr. Tom seems to have the latest dental technology that can really help catch cavities early. He has a new x-ray machine that makes x-rays a lot more comfortable than those old bite wings. Another technology he has used that really benefited me was the ability to avoid using a crown in certain situations. A few years ago, I had a cavity in a tooth right next to where I previously had a silver filling from long ago. He really needed to drill a lot to get the filling out and to repair that new cavity. This is the type of thing that normally he would need to use a crown. However Dr. Tom explained to me that he had a machine where he could essentially make a 3d puzzle piece for the hole and put it in if I had a little extra time. We could do it in one visit instead of two and it was actually less expensive than a traditional crown. I agreed and have had no issues with his solution. I went in yesterday for a cavity repair and received exactly the same treatment as in the past. I didn't even feel the needle with the numbing medicine. They use a topical to make you comfortable. The staff also make sure to tell you what to expect before they do it. Everyone is friendly and genuinely interested in you and your dental health. They are located near Wolf Circle and very close to a bus and train station. There is ample street and lot parking near the office.

Recommended a procedure that was unnecessary but could also be harmful (per both my regular dentist…read moreand the periodontist I saw after this). Dr. Silc missed the real issue completely. Furthermore, they do not take insurance and make you pay up front. Well my insurance accidentally sent the reimbursement check to them instead of me, and instead of forwarding it to me (like they said they would) I never heard from them and they cashed the check! Four months later I had to call them when I realized I still never received the check- had I never called they would have made twice the cost of the exam (I paid them, and insurance also paid them).
