Now, while as many of its colleagues, it too could benefit from an extremely thorough pressure washing, the station is generally clean and void of debris. Finally, while I don't frequent Belmont after midnight, the times I've been here during the day or late evening, I've not encountered any unsavory characters. Thus, while not immune from some problems and quirks, Belmont is one of the better stations on the El.

Of course, there's other stuff here too. Get off here to go to the Adler Planetarium, Field Museum, and Shedd Aquarium, along with other less known museums. There's also buses that take you right there. Better than driving. There's also no paying for parking. Here you can walk over to many attractions. It's best known for being close to Soldier Field and museums. There's buses for those not wanting to do as much walking.

When I'm in Chicago, this is the CTA line that serves me most since it stretches the furthest from north to south. I stayed in Lakeview on my last trip, so hopping down to the Near North, the Loop and Chinatown was a cinch. It sure helps to know that the Red Line is open 24 hours a day with no more than fifteen minutes between trains. This is my public transportation of choice since I'm a cheap so-and-so and willing to risk some airborne germs to get where I need to go. Man, that screeching noise between North/Clybourn and Clark/Division really drives me crazy in the winter. So crazy that... When I was just a baby, my mama told me - "Son, Always be a good boy, don't ever play with guns. But I shoved a nun at Berwyn just to watch her cry Now ev'ry time I hear that whistle, I hang my head and sigh... Guess it helps me to know the Red Line will be waitin' for me now that I'm servin' time in Folsom.

It was just $2.50 per person and the orange line goes directly to Midway. This is the last stop on the line. Plus, we got there at least 15 minutes earlier than the UBER/Lyft ETA. There is Hope. Interesting to see the suicide & crisis lifeline information at the station. Call, chat or text 988 if you need help. A shocking murder-suicide in Houston earlier this week, this sign really made me think. On this Mother's Day, hug your mom, your children, your grandparents a little tighter.

An efficient station that will connect you to sights within downtown Chicago like Grant Park, The Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, and even the Historic Route 66 Begin Sign; the iconic Historic Route 66 Begin Sign which is located downstairs of this elevated platform. At this station you can also transfer to other lines like green, pink, purple, orange, and brown. Opened by Lake Street Elevated Railroad in 1896 before being incorporated into Charles Yerkes's Union Loop in October 1897. From back then to now, the station has had its share of renovations and makeovers. It is well-maintained, yet with some clear signs of cracked paint and rust on its interior frame. And I also could not ignore the faded out social distancing signs which will forever remind us of covid-19 in the years to come. I have to say that my visits to-and-from CTA - Adams/Wabash have been very pleasant, thankfully! It took me almost no time to check in and get through security then get to my gate because the signage is posted up well. There are several food courts throughout the place too so it's easy to find a place to eat. I really had no trouble, and the bathrooms were fairly clean too. Compared to some other big/hub airports that really have a lot of issues (e.g. the Vegas Airport), O'Hare is actually doing a pretty good job.
