She looked through historic records and showed me what had been going on in my neck so I understood the treatment plan. At times I was in tears because I didn't know if the cyst was going to show malignancy; fortunately it did not. She was calming and kind, answering all my questions and then some. I had such a great experience with her. Why? *Dr. Nguyen is kind, patient, knowledgeable, and empathetic. *She and her team are very organized, and my appointments have all been on time. * Even if she has difficult news to share, she is still genuine and compassionate. *She informed me of risks and let me know honestly when some pain might be involved. Jeff, her medical assistant, is truly a gem. Every time I interact with him he's extremely pleasant and compassionate, and helpful as anyone could be. No worries about getting information I need, he's got a copy ready for me. His manner is also calm and kind, and I can imagine his patients adore him; he's that kind of person. If you need an ENT, I definitely recommend Dr. Nguyen and Jeff, too; they made a difficult situation manageable with as little worry and pain as possible.

I think of what I had done - seems to me quite minor compared to the work this group performs more broadly - and am grateful they take on "smaller" projects. The lip lift left my entire upper lip (from nasal, down and around the lip and inside the lip) PERMANENTLY numb. I don't know if most people can recognize the consequences of this. The lip is always dry, chapped, peels a lot and very tight no matter how much chapstick I use. The area above my lip is white because of the numbness. I can't feel if my nose is running or bleeding, which it does frequently. It always feels like a "fat lip". Upper bleph: I have permanent eyeliner that was very expensive. He cut right through the eyeliner instead of going above it like on the other eye. I've spent $500 trying to get it fixed to no avail. The eyeliner will forever be uneven from side to side and look weird on one side. The laser: I have a small widows peak. He lasered that peak off. I lived through the growing back which was very awkward. Now the hair won't grow very long and has a mind of its own. It doesn't behave the way it used to and because it's always short, it's very hard to control. These may seem like small things but I mention them because he was very cavalier and arrogant when I came back in a year later. A good plastic surgeon pays attention to these small details.
