If you like getting your wisdom tooth pulled with ineffective numbing medicine then this is your place! He rubbed a numbing agent on my gums and then immediately proceeded to shoot me before the numbing medicine started to work. Um. No. You're. Not. I demanded that he stop! The nurse removed the nitrous which wasn't working anyway and I high tailed it out of there. If you're searching for a little shop of horrors office experience then please schedule an appointment. They went above and beyond to make sure They provided me with all of the necessary information (after care instructions, insurance, etc.). My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed here today. She was awake for the entire procedure, told them she was not numb and they proceeded. My daughter has had several surgeries in her life, 3 abdominal major surgeries and always was loopy and silly in recovery. When I walked back to get her, the nurse told me she was "emotional from the meds" My daughter heard her say this and said "No! I am crying from pain just as I told you during the entire procedure I was not numb." I was like wait, you were awake?!! We waited forever for Dr Wolf to come in where he proceeded to tell me, "I gave her a bunch of pain meds at the end, Tordol and Fentanyl" I will tell you this, she was coherent and talking to me all afternoon and I just took her home still awake. She was not given what they said. We paid $2,939 cash for bullshit anesthesia she was not given and was AWAKE for the procedure. Have things changed this much? I remember nothing of my wisdom teeth removal and was feeling NO pain when I woke up! Wish I would have checked reviews before choosing this place and I think additional investigations should be done to see what "anesthesia" they're actually administering!! Also, editing to add, they also sent my daughters prescribed pain pills (only 5) to the wrong pharmacy and left the EKG pads on her body and we removed when we got home. read more

My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed recently from Dr. Wolf. She was awake as well for most of her procedure. She was in tears in the recovery room post procedure. This surprised me seeing that she was in and out so quick 45 min, and she was very coherent. I was told walking back to see her that she was "a little emotional" (exact words) by the staff. Of course she was emotional she could feel the oral surgeon drilling into her jaw and she said that he had to redo her IV in the midst of surgery because obviously he missed the vein the first attempt at which she later developed a very serious cellulitis infection in her arm which was diagnosed nine days later at the emergency room. He was unreachable at the emergency number they gave us and didn't respond for 2.5 hours. He later said this happens with some people unapologetically. When I questioned his actions at her follow up he told me if I wasn't happy with the care my daughter received from him to go elsewhere. I should have read his reviews prior. Reading the other reviews by Shay B. and Kristin W.- I agree.... House of horrors- yep...Lacking bedside manner and care and compassion-yep..Mystery anesthetic- questionable billing practice-sadly I agree. I know mistakes happen but to not take accountability is unacceptable . I was wrong to assume that I would be better going to this jerk thinking he would have more expertise being a seasoned oral surgeon. read more

My husband went here for an impacted wisdom tooth removal. Dr. Wolfe performed the surgery and only prescribed ibuprofen and based the surgery off of dental x-rays that were months old. Husband closely followed the aftercare procedures provided by the doctor. Followed up with the doctor when pain and swelling started to increase, but Dr. Wolfe had gone on vacation. Dr. Mekhail saw my husband the next day (when my husband was severely swollen and couldn't talk) and treated my husband like he was just trying to get pain pills- he then prescribed a pain pill (3 days worth) and an antibiotic. The aftercare instructions clearly stated that if swelling and pain continued to increase to see the doctor. My husband went back in after the weekend due to an increase in swelling, pain and a reaction to the antibiotic. Dr. Mekhail said he "didn't know what antibiotic to prescribe if he (my husband) was just going to be allergic to everything" and refused to give any more pain medicine, but instead jammed a lidocaine strip into the socket and told him to come back in a few days to have it removed. The next day my husband's face was even more swollen so he went to our general dentist where she was horrified at his condition and gave him pain medicine and told him to watch for a fever and to go to a hospital if he had a fever. That night he had a fever of 103 so he went to the ER. After testing, they found an abscess that was the size of a grapefruit and was pushing on his trachea. He had to stay in the ICU and the ENT surgeon thought he would have to be placed on a ventilator or have a temporary trach put in. He was in the hospital for 6 days, and had to have a PICC line placed so he could do antibiotic infusions at home. I can't help but to believe if the care was better by Dr. Wolfe and Mekhail (such as prescribing an antibiotic early or taking x-rays or even taking my husband's concerns seriously) then perhaps he would not have landed in the ICU. Please, find an oral surgeon who will take care of you. I would not wish this lack of care upon anyone. read more

My experience with Northwest Ora Surgeons could not have been better. I had been putting off having implants and decided to finally go for it and Dr Mekhail and staff were excellent! When I had my consult, he was barely in the room 5 minutes, only answered one question, and that was the one my husband asked. The staff kept submitting the wrong codes for my insurance preapproval, so I kept having to waste time straightening that out. The day of the procedure I called to reschedule because my 3 year old threw up. Yeah they told me that they won't reschedule or see me again because I "missed the appointment". Sorry not sorry that my baby got sick at the last minute. So I guess if you wanted to be talked down to, treated with no human decency, and to have to pay them for the privilege then this is the place for you! read more

Dr. Wolf extracted my molar today within less than two minutes, under local anesthetic. I felt no pain- not from the initial shots, not from the extraction. His assistant comforted me during the procedure by rubbing my upper arm, and was very kind to me, bringing me a magazine while I waited. What can I say about the surgeon pulling my tooth out? I admit I was kinda scared beforehand, but I had no reason to be- this man removed the tooth with surgical precision, and did not even pull at my lip once. Dr. Wolf is very talented. Price was also very fair- $145 plus $26 cost of ex-ray. Less than half of the cost of the facility in IL to which my dentist referred me. I am so relieved that I made the right choice and found Northwest Oral Surgeons on my own. Dr. Wolf and his kind staff took an unpleasant experience and made it into a "non-event." He even suggested that I come in tomorrow morning so that he could make sure all was healing right. I am so relieved this is over... read more

I got refereed there so I needed to get them pulled before the end of the year when my insurance was downgrading because of the fabulous "affordable care act". So I went at the beginning of December. They were nice sat me down and you could tell that the techs were a little new because they had a very specific strict things they were doing( for example when the iv was started they pulled my head away so I couldn't see it) just kinda weird. So the drugs start to kick in and I'm looped out of my mind. But I never fell asleep. Never. I was awake the whole time. I remember yelling in pain that he was hurting me. And I remember saying I should be asleep? So I get done and I come out still all happy with the drugs that were not yet worn off yet and I started telling my wife in a drugged state that I was awake the whole time and that I remember everything and the dr caused me pain. So we leave she drops me off at home so she can go get my prescriptions and I'm laying there just starting to hurt more and more. She comes back I take the pills and wait about an hour and the pain is less but still very profound so I look at the dose. He underperscribed me! He gave me the lowest dose you can give. Mind you I'm a big boy about 270lbs just doesn't make sense So I remembered the surgery was not unconscious prob because he didn't give me the right dose of anesthesia and underperscribed the pain medications for after I would not recommend this place they seemed amateur-ish and not well prepared or knowledgable. The reason I gave it one star even tho the people were nice it is a medical facility. They need to have their A-game for when it matters. And they obviously did not. read more

I went to NWOS to have a broken down molar extracted followed by an implant placement in three months. Things could not have gone better. I experienced absolutely no pain during or after the extraction and when I went back for the implant placement I couldn't believe how quickly it was placed with absolutely no pain whatsoever. I would not hesitate a second to schedule an y future oral surgery needs at Northwest Oral Surgeons. The staff was extremely efficient and friendly. Dr. Wolf was the best. read more

Both our teenagers had their wisdom teeth removed here and both experienced pain due to not receiving enough anesthesia. We thought that the second time would be different since we had a different doctor and told him about our concerns, so we were extremely upset when our daughter told us she woke up toward the end of the procedure in pain and had to be given more anesthetic. The doctor told us on the next visit that her procedure took longer than he had expected (no excuse for her to experience pain!). Also, the front desk staff are friendly, but the assistants after the procedure were "all business" and lacking in understanding and compassion. This is not one of the places our dentist recommended but we went because it was cheaper than others. Now we know why! We DO NOT recommend them! read more

The medical staff was awesome, very friendly, the welcoming receptionist was very friendly. The discharge receptionist, first didn't even say hello, did everything go well or nothing!!! She used jargon that I wasn't familiar with, insurance jargon, and even when I asked for her to explain more, she just repeated herself without trying to educate this customer. Her attitude was horrible and she could care less if she was being mean. That discharge lady, which I will get her name when I return for my wisdom teeth extraction, so I can name her personally. read more

What a joke. Had my daughters procedure pre approved. Was told everything was fine. Took 7 months for them to finally bill the insurance right. I spent many hours on the phone. Still ended up being billed $380. This place is incompetent. read more

Beware! Took a $250 deposit for my 6 yr old son's extraction. My insurance denied his plan for treatment. They didn't even call to tell me this. Took 4 weeks to return my phone calls. Never even scheduled an appointmet for his extraction. Dr. Wolf refused to refund my $250 deposit. Just stole my $250 and never even touched my son's mouth!
