I began going to Moody Dental a couple of years ago because I would pass it whenever I sat with my great nephew Kobe. I loved how they would intrigue me with their Marquee. It Always has a Biblical scripture or saying. Today I made an appointment to just kinda follow up from having had 3 extractions & a root removed in June following our Family Cruise. All The Dentist I 've seen have been Amazing; they identify each other by their 1st names (interesting) but I like it. Today I had the Pleasure to be seen by Dr. Sara or Susan . Moody dental is a great clean dentist office. I've been going here since March last year. It feels very futuristic when you walk to the back. Their staff is extremely friendly and nice and accommodating. I especially like the front desk lady with the brown hair and glasses. She is phenomenal. She is on top of it! I'm only rating 4 stars because when I went in to get my filling at first, I had the Doctor Who had a busted blood vessel in his left eye. He seemed to be under stress. When he did my tooth it looked like SpongeBob. It went by quickly he seemed to be in a rush to get me out of there. Being an advocate of my health, I did request for him to shorten it some more because my tooth was clearly wider and larger than the left tooth. He did just that. And asked me to bite down, I bit but my bite felt different. He said that my bite should adjust. So I went along that weekend and I tried to eat later that day, and it was very hard for me to eat. I tried to speak and say certain words, but my mouth couldn't form it. This is just from two teeth getting done. It was uncomfortable. I called them and complained because there was too much composite on my teeth and I couldn't function properly. So I went back in the following week and Dr. Hannah took care of me. They shaved down my teeth some more so that my mouth could close properly. It worked! I have been extremely pleased since then. I am happy they were able to see me again and fix everything. All in all if the doctors are under stress, they shouldn't be at work and they should never try to rush people out of there. I appreciate the doctors that I've had there that take their time and accommodate me patiently. read more

He did chip my front tooth, when I was getting a cosmetic filling put in the middle 2 teeth. He definitely is too rushed when working. That is why he makes mistakes. What is the rush? Saw Dr. Saweres who is a newer dentist here -- experience was 11/10! Very kind, patient, conservative and experienced. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly which helped ease procedural anxiety. I LOVE this place. I take my daughter there and have had amazing experiences. She was nervous and they made her so comfortable and relaxed about it every time. Don't do it! I thought this office would be a good fit because of their hours and full range of services, but it was a huge mistake. Not only do they try to upsell unnecessary dental work, i.e., crowns, Dr. S performed shoddy work that I can only classify as malpractice. Three out of three teeth that she drilled and filled broke within a month. I had no prior issues with these teeth; she said they had cavities and I trusted her. Not only that, she ground the side off a tooth next to one she worked on, resulting in a gap between my teeth. The Bible verses out front drew me in, everyone now having to pay $100 ahead of time in order to make each and every appointment drew me out. (I have always paid my bill on the spot). After getting a second opinion recently, which I have never done until now, showed me that I have to concur with others that unnecessary dental work has been offered. After being established as Dr. Moody's patient I got switched to another dentist in the office, without any communication and one that did not have my trust as he appeared at times unconfident. There was no recourse but to go through the trial of searching for another office. Dr. Moody is competent, without question. The staff is less than personable. My hygienist was a bright spot and I thought she was the best part. This is a busy office with numerous chairs, they will be fine. read more

Some people not friendly at all and every time you go they come with the tale that you need some new work and every estimate is very expensive. Today they could't find my appointment although I have an appointment card and because I protested they gave me what I call a ghost cleaning on 20 minutes total when they take one hour normally. I went to Moody Dental because I was having trouble controlling my blood sugar and was informed that oral problems could be a contributing factor and I did have a rotting tooth so I went and after the exam, I was told that three teeth opposite side the rotting tooth needed to be removed nothing about the rotting tooth needless to say I was astounded as I haven't had a problem with that side of my mouth but this was to be my dentist and I had to trust them what a fool I was. I affirm that Moody Dental is or at least with me has participated in predatory practices by lying and telling me that I needed services that I don't believe I needed lying and telling me that the procedures would be covered by my insurance i.e., teeth cleaning and teeth extractions things that I would never have had done if I was aware of the hidden charges and I believe with every ounce of my being that the staff at Moody Dental knew this and consciously decided to keep that from me now looking at some of the negative reviews online this appears to be a pattern with Moody dental of scamming people I know that's how I feel I trusted them like I trust all of the medical team that have treated me and my many illnesses and have always been forthcoming, especially about my finances Now fast forward 2.6 years later I received the first bill I never knew existed for $654.00 in March of 2024 all this started in May of 2021 so not only did they have the audacity to send me a bill that I never knew or thought would exist I'm met with threats of more aggressive actions against me if I don't pay quick, fast, and in a hurry a bill that they took years to produce Even if they didn't lie in May of 2021 they knew in April of 2022 for sure even then I was better equipped financially to handle this bill at this time I don't think I should be responsible sure they offered to take off 15% and I did nothing wrong I paid everything they said I needed to pay before service I shouldn't have to pay 85% at the very least Moody Dental should eat 75% of this bill, after all, it was their lack of business ethics that got us here. read more

I recently got my wisdom teeth done at this facility and they told me I was covered that insurance would pay for it. I even called them for nearly 3 months before and rescheduled my appointment Just to make sure I was covered. I payed my part of the fee which was about 900. They told me after the procedure that my insurance wouldn't cover any of it. I ended up getting billed 1000 dollars. This places cares more about money then the service they provide. read more

They charge the full price up front and don't reimburse you when the insurance pays them out. My wife had a root canal and crown performed. The way the surgery was performed it was done incorrectly and the tooth had to be pulled but we didn't know this until the crown fell off 3 times and we finally went to a different dentist. They did not offer compensation or reimbursement. We went back to moody to have the tooth pulled and got charged 1000 up front. I went to schedule an extraction for myself and was told it could be performed on a Friday or Saturday. I had to call back due to bad service on the phone about a. Hour later and I was told by someone else who didn't seem to speak English very well that I could set up an exam appointment but not an extraction. I told this person that someone spoke to earlier told me otherwise. She then told me in a very rude way that I should call back tomorrow morning to speak with the other person and then she hung up on me. I'll tell you the way that this disorganized place is it's a shame that I would even want to go here, but due to it being one of the only places that can get a quick procedure done. It's hard to not go here. :( read more

Got there today 12-22-2022 at 9:55 for a 10 am appointment. remember pulled teeth is what the appointment was made for! They what to do crowns, not what I need but does cost more then pulling, after X-rays the dentist not the one I had my appointment with came in to say , they can't take care of my teeth today Because they have to see to many patients before the snow. Please DO NOT let Dr. Moody to do your crowns! I have been struggling for 3 years since he redid 4 of my front teeth. Biggest regret thinking that new high tech office can make you happy and your smile perfect! Poor installation led to extreme inflammation of the gums around the crowns he blamed on gingivitis and bounced me around between the hygienist and a few periodontal specialists. ALL OF THEM confirmed there was no gum disease and the reason of my discomfort and unhealthy look are the crowns he did! I also went to root canal specialist and another crown specialist on my own, just to be sure! On my offer to him to fix them I first was told I am out of his comfort zone, then he finally agreed to redo them for astronomical price. Not only he wants to double charge me for what I already paid for, he for some reason added 2 more teeth to that treatment plan that are perfect and do not need to be touched. Do not waste your time to go to the manager. Worthless. He doesn't know what he is doing or even talking about. If you already made that mistake go straight to attorney for medical negligence. Today was my first visit at Moody Dental ( Schererville location) and I had an amazing experience! The entire staff is very friendly and made me feel welcome. As someone who gets anxiety at the dentist due to bad experiences in the past, they made sure I was comfortable the entire visit. Check in was quick and easy and the hygienist did a great job with cleaning and explaining what services I was getting and how much it would be. I needed to have 2 fillings done and even though they were busy, the Doctor was able to do it during my visit. So I didn't need to make another appointment, which I appreciated so much. The place is clean and welcoming. I also appreciate the music playlist. So much better than the previous place I went to. Highly recommend! read more

Went in for a implant on my front tooth. From the beginning communication was definitely horrible. To conclude the mess- Dr put my implant in knowing it was the wrong shape/color showed me in the mirror very fast and sent me on my way, when I got in the car I noticed the color first thing thought maybe because they just made it it needed some time. Two hours go by and no change I was so upset I called and they said oh you'll have to come back and we'll have to remake it. CONSUMER BEWARE!! Not once were bite strips used for my fillings. I had complaints that my tooth was in pain after multiple fillings, instead of taking the time to find that tooth, Dr Moody grinded the whole right side of my mouth. Thanks to that my bite will never be the same. Tons of careless mistakes! I should not leave the office with two teeth fused together after a filling. My experience with Moody Dental is not long, but the people there are very nice to be serviced by and the dental work is excellent. If your treatment is not covered by dental insurance they will work with you to try and set up payment options. It is a good feeling to be in such a good treatment center. read more

I recently had my bottom wisdom teeth removed here. The staff was all extremely friendly and pleasant, as usual. However, they failed to provide me with the pre-operative instructions (such as no food or drink 8 hr prior to appointment). While I did receive a call 2 days before the appointment to confirm the time and my driver (and the needs of my driver such as snacks and water), she failed to mention any pre-operative instructions.. so I showed up to my appointment with a full tummy. Luckily there were no complications with the surgery but this is an easily avoidable situation. I did receive the pre operative instructions once I arrived for my appointment... not too helpful. read more

I was told my 6 year old son had three cavities in December...after having none 6 months before and without having any new x-rays taken. When I asked what we could do to prevent more, I was told there was nothing we could do...that he just had naturally deep grooves in his teeth that were prone to cavities and if we wanted, we could have his teeth sealed but insurance wouldn't cover it. For multiple reasons, this didn't sit right with me so I took him to another dentist for a second opinion. As I thought, this second dentist said his teeth looked great...no cavities at all. I truly feel that Moody only told me that to make more money...at the expense of a 6 year old. Not only will I be asking for my family's records, but also for an explanation as to how they could have possibly been so wrong. read more

He is the most caring Dentist I have ever had, while he was in California attending transplant classes, I had a very BIG problem he accepted my phone call, follow thru with a local dentist until he returned home. This Dr is someone who really does care about his patients, he truly is remarkable. Always learning and keeping up on new dental technology. I just left the Schererville office and it's was the first time I went to the dentist is 10 years. I do not like dentists. They changed my mind today. They took their time and explained what they were doing and if I wasn't comfortable they didn't push. I went to Moody dental 3 times. Each time I had a very good experience. The staff was very professional and nice. They made sure that my experience wasn't stressful. They also use some pretty high tech equipment which was nice to see. Dr. Moody was very easy going. I was getting 2 wisdom teeth taken out by him so he made sure that I was as comfortable as I could be throughout the whole procedure. The 3rd time going in I went and got my teeth cleaned. Again, I had a very good experience there with the staff and the dental hygienist. She was very thorough and made sure the experience wasn't stressful. I would recommend anyone to go see Dr. Moody and his staff. They know what they're doing and they make sure the experience is good. read more

I called to have a broken tooth pulled. Everything seemed fine and honest, but it was not. To get me in the office they lied about the cost. When asking about cost, each person, all very nice, did not seem to know. They would leave the room and return with higher and higher fiqures. I was told what the cost was when I called, and THEY LIED JUST TO GET ME IN THE OFFICE!!! I ended up leaving, without work on my tooth because they had raised the cost by $500.00! No one cares that they lied and I was charged for just sitting in there office. I should have not paid, but I was so upset with their dishonesty I paid their $175.00 just to be in their presence. If you do not have dental insurace, or have won the lottery, avoid these people. They screw you with a big smile on their face! read more
