His caring and attentiveness was obvious from the very start. With an aggressive schedule of therapy (which he thoroughly explained) and use of custom orthotics (which he masterfully crafted) I am virtually pain-free today. I went in for a sprained ankle. They took an x-ray before I even talked to a doctor. Then Dr…read more Hyderi said she couldn't see anything on the x-ray and I needed an MRI. It took no less than 4 texts and phone calls to get them to send the order for the MRI. Meanwhile, she told her assistant to get a brace for me. They just put it on me without discussing it and charged me over $80 for it on my way out. When I went for the follow up, Dr. Hyderi said I had multiple issues with my ankle and I needed to wear a boot for 6 weeks. Again, she sent the assistant to get a boot, they put it on me and charged me $197 for it on my way out. She also wrote me a prescription for an NSAID cream that cost $87 AND was on auto refill for 2 weeks later. She told me I should also consider getting a stem cell injection because it could speed up the healing process (but no guarantees). That would cost $1500 and insurance doesn't cover it. And of course there were office charges on top of all that. Then I got another bill for an additional $40 for the boot because insurance didn't cover it. So I paid $237 for a boot that costs $60 on Amazon. I decided to get a second opinion at Kipferl and I'm SO GLAD I DID. Dr. Steven Kipferl explained the results of my MRI in great detail, said I should wear the boot for 2 weeks, not 6 and concentrate on getting the inflammation down by icing it, applying NSAID cream (OTC for $15) and taking prednisone ($5 prescription). A stem cell injection was not recommended until he could pinpoint what area might need one and if I chose to get one, it would cost about $750, not the $1500 Dr. Hyderi would charge. After 2 weeks, my ankle is 100% better. Foot & Ankle Specialists is all about making money. Kipferl is about taking care of their patients.

Michelle, who was at the front desk, was so nice and welcoming and immediately put me at ease. I was actually a little nervous since I had never been to a podiatrist before. Once I got into the room, a nurse asked me some questions and took an X-ray of the foot that was bothering me. She was very kind and did a great job as well. When Dr. Bochat came in, she had such a great bedside manner and really made me feel comfortable. I am usually the biggest baby when it comes to pain, but given my situation, I asked her what the best course of action would be to get me back to normal as quickly as possible. She recommended a shot in my foot, stretching exercises, and orthotics. Because of the trust she built right away, I said, "Okay, let's do it." And this is coming from someone who has dodged a routine blood test because I am so afraid of needles and pain. She was open and honest and let me know the shot would not be fun, but that it would give me relief. Right now, I am just waiting for them to speak with my insurance to see what will be covered for my orthotics, and I plan to head back as soon as I can to get that process started. I would absolutely recommend this practice to my friends if they ever needed a podiatrist.

I chose him…read moreto perform the surgery because he was very confident in the success of the surgery while others doctors I went to were not. He had a lot of experience and clearly knew his stuff. While he can come off as a bit cocky, I prefer this demeanor from a surgeon. This shows me that they don't accept a failure or mistakes. My surgery went well and recovery wasn't too bad either. For anyone else with sesamoid problems, I highly suggest seeing Dr. Kazmer for such a complex issue. Don't let those other doctors put off your pain too long- as it will only get worse and affect other parts of your foot overtime! Thank you Dr. Kazmer for allowing me to be active again!!

I'm still trust him with my family's foot care. One other piece of feedback, when making shoe recommendations, it would be good to have models or a list of shoe types that are preferred.
