Complete joke of a company! A job that should've taken 2-weeks tops, took 4 months!!! If it was up to me they would've been fired! The communication sucked! Some of the guys they had come were nice and the communication was a tiny bit better. However, they would leave in the middle of the job without letting us know however and be gone for hours. They lost several items and then made us wait weeks to replace. I just don't understand how companies like this stay in business. read more

After being ghosted by another company, Eric came in and orchestrated multiple services to finish the repair after a pipe burst. They were very diligent and accommodated our not so friendly work schedules. Eric was fantastic with communication. I hope I do not need their services again, but if I do, they will be my first call. The contractor did not have good communication with his subcontractors. The subcontractors did a shoddy job and had to come back and fix their work. The contractors rescheduled with me multiple times, often at a moment's notice. Nothing was done on time. The small patch job on my ceiling should have been a maximum of two partial days of work, and yet I had a new subcontractor employee at my house at least 6 times before the project was completed. After asking to reschedule for the umpteenth time, I finally put my foot down and let the general manager of the contracting company (Nic) that I had had enough and they needed to just get the job done. He gave a shallow apology and then proceeded to tell me that I could either be mad or let them get the project finished - as if I didn't have a right to be frustrated by the company's lack of professionalism and I was the one keeping the project from being completed. This company was recommended to us by our insurance company when we had flooding in our home, and I wish I could go back in time and choose a different one. The restoration should have taken less than 2 weeks (based on a similar project we had done by another company a few years ago), but it took OVER TWO MONTHS. During that time there was little communication other than their frequent demands to be paid in full. We were advised by our insurance company not to pay them until after the work was completed to our satisfaction. Once the job was "completed" and furniture was being moved back into the room, mold was discovered on the wall studs. It was reported to the company by the movers, but the company said it was no big deal and recommended that we just spray it. I'm no expert, but isn't mold on the structure of my home one of the main things meant to be prevented by a restoration company? Also, we ended up having to do the majority of the painting, which they said was not their job. I strongly recommend against using NW Restoration. read more

We had a water leak that damaged our kitchen, requiring new cabinets, flooring and counters. Nic and the team at Northwest Restoration communicated very well through the entire process. Everyone was professional and work was done in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

Unethical, negligent, no accountability. I'm currently dealing with this nightmare of a company and I've decided to initiated a CCB complaint after finally coming to the realization that they're incapable of seeing a project through from beginning to end. They spent more time arguing with me about the estimate than they spent in my home a really working towards the rebuild. I read the reviews in the beginning after Allstate sent them to my home and I'll admit, I was skeptical. But trust me when I say, BELIEVE EVERY BAD REVIEW that you read. After months of bending over backwards to accommodate these guys, I finally reached my breaking point when I gave them one final chance to correct issues and finish the project, and the first thing they did was install the cabinets in the wrong configuration, damaged my quartz countertops, and to top it all off, the discovered that the crawlspace that we assumed was complete hadn't even been touched. They still expected me to pay for them to correct those damages and all the charges associated with dragging this project out months past the expected end date. There is so much more, but at this point I'm just exhausted, just look at the photos. They've done more harm that good and enough is enough. This project was supposed to end in June. We're heading into September and not even close to a resolution. I guess this is what the CCB is for... read more

DOES NOT HONOR THEIR OWN 5 YEAR WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY. As if working with them wasn't enough of a nightmare to begin with due to complete lack of project management, zero communication about delays (delays are to be expected in this line of business but so should communicating those delays to the homeowner), stopped answering calls, and utter lack of professionalism, the work doesn't hold up after 1 year let alone 5. It took 3 months of harassing them to complete 6 days worth of worth initially only to find that 1 year later the water damage has occurred in the same place they repaired but they accept no responsibility for it. I had two plumbers come in most recently to assess the damage and determine cause and both said NW Restoration did not use the correct wax ring when installing the toilet yet they refuse to honor their warranty and cover the damage caused by this improper install. Please avoid at all costs unless you love headaches, low quality work, and having to pay for a second set of mitigation and repairs all over again when they refuse to honor their warranty. read more

I do not recommend Northwest Restoration to anyone, but especially if you hope to make any simultaneous improvements to your home rather than just recovering exactly from insurance loss. We suffered a flood in Sept 2021. The input line to our sink abruptly broke and soaked down through to our finished basement. Northwest Restoration was sent by Contractor Connection once our insurance claim started. They arrived promptly, which was a relief in a stressful time. I found it strange that the President, Jim, was making these house calls but maybe others would find it reassuring. In hindsight it may be because he was skilled at pressuring people into agreements. It took him two hours to measure the affected area. They needed two more visits to correctly finish the bid. This first stage is all about getting a fair bid to submit for insurance purposes, with all sides agreeing that it is likely subject to "adjustments". Northwest Restoration, however, didn't even get the basics done in the first two tries, omitting obvious things like complete carpet replacement for the entire downstairs. Then they pressure you to sign their agreement. They make it seem as if they are out all of this effort when in fact it was their fault it took three tries to bid correctly and this is how they run their business; they get free leads from insurance providers. You should have no qualms having them do the bid and then saying goodbye. I signed with them solely because they came highly recommended by my insurance rep. I trusted her. I seriously regret it. DO NOT sign their agreement without getting them to cross out "16.e., Deletions to Work." They establish the right to take 20% of your money even if they don't do the work. Jim promised me verbally that this would not be used against me but they later threatened to use it. I asked for additional improvements (e.g., LVP floors instead of carpet) once they started parading subcontractors through. That is where it all fell apart. Once I saw the bid to do the additional work it was clear we couldn't work together. I have done a full kitchen remodel on my home and incremental improvements on a 100-year old home and so I have a sense of what is right and fair. It felt like they made up the numbers! They later claimed that their markup is 40% (it's defined as such in their contract too; I missed this at first). I'm finding their markup to be over 50% as I contract the work myself. They then held my down payment and insisted to be reimbursed for their time (which is not covered in their contract), taking over and above from the small drywall work they did complete. Even for the small amount of work I did get done with them I had contractors showing up on days I told them I was not available, and not on other agreed-upon days, I had the scope changed on me a dozen different times, I had wild claims such that they would repair unrelated damage free of charge. I was ignored repeatedly as I asked for small-ish things (the lights!) only to be told as we wrapped up, "I wish you told us that." It was a roller coaster ride that I wish I hadn't been on. I was overwhelmed by the gravity of the issue, by the insurance process, and I felt that having an expert on my side who has been through this would help. I thought I would get work done faster, that it would be marginally more expensive but worth the convenience. I understand that concern still but I no longer stand by my assessment. If I had to do it all over I would act as my own general contractor from the start. I encourage you to not sign away the whole scope of the project to them, especially if you want improvements. Perhaps they can do smaller parts to make the place more habitable while you work on controlling the bigger and more expensive pieces yourself. Explore all options other than Northwest Restoration on the timeframe that works for you - you owe them nothing for taking the bidding job. I hope I save just one person from working with Northwest Restoration. read more

They don't pay their sub contractors. Shoddy work. So disappointed. Zero professionalism. Would never recommend this organization.

They did a good job. There are a couple of minor areas that need extra help....the tack job between the bathroom floor and carpet does not meet. read more

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness Poor customer service, terrible communication and professionalism. What began on a high note after my home suffered water damage from a toilet, quickly downward spiraled into a month long nightmare of unresponsiveness. A team came into my home and tore out the flooring, only to leave it that way for the entirety of April and has refused to acknowledge or respond to any of my questions regarding finishing the project. Even now, half way through May, I have heard nothing from anyone, not even Jason Lynn May, the projector manager, who came to my home. read more

We had a broken sewer pipe problem that needed a diagnosis and cleanup. Our Insurance company recommended this company. A previous bid by another restoration company put the cost of cleanup at over 4 times what NWR bid. More importantly, NWR evaluated the extent of the damage as less severe than had been earlier diagnosed. This new assessment was confirmed by 2 plumbers I consulted. The crew at NWR completed the work the day prior to the scheduled repair by the plumbers we hired. The recommended plumbers did an excellent job as well. Sean spent a great deal of time under the house taking photos that he shared with me. They were personable and professional. I am very grateful for their recommendations and efficient work. read more

When a slight stain in our rug proved to be a water leak that had gone on for years and nearly collapsed the floor in our bedroom, our insurance agent recommended Northwest Restoration to scope out what needed to be done and arrange for contractors to create the necessary engineering drawings, structural repairs, and finishing. All of the contractors were top notch, and the work was very well managed. When we were working with the last contractor, Northwest stepped out of the coordination role to reduce our costs. Northwest Restoration hires subpar subcontractors that perform low quality work. The first sub showed up with an ankle monitor on, then told me he just got fired from a job because of a misunderstanding about his license, it didn't take much for me to find out he was fraudulently using his wife's contractor license. The apprentice plumber hooked up my sink and dishwasher wrong, then gave me his apprentice Id# when I asked for his journeyman's license, he lied and said there was a journeyman sitting outside in the van not feeling well the whole time. They inflated the prices on the estimate to my insurance company and billed them for work that was not performed, I will be reporting them for insurance fraud. They lied to me about needing a building permit, I made them get one but they had to remove a portion of my kitchen floor for the inspector to look at the framing. I still haven't been able to get a final inspection done because my kitchen sub floor has actually had pieces break off and fall into the crawlspace leaving sunken holes in the vinyl flooring. read more
