We had heard so much about their food there. We decided to order and give it a shot. We realize that there was one closer to us on 43rd street as there are 2 locations, the other 1 being in town of tioga. Got there 5 minutes early as I wasn't sure the location. Set when I got there of course. My order wasn't ready. It was supposed to be ready at 6 o'clock. Wasn't ready for another 15 minutes. That's the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. The staff was friendly. Food was amazing, Very fresh, the bourbon glaze on our salmon was amazing. Definitely will be going back.

For some reason I often forget this place has delicious seafood in town whenever I'm craving it. Most likely because it's a seafood market with a walk up counter for placing prepared meal orders with a couple of counters and outdoor tables for quick dining. Even though it's primarily a market, this place knows how to cook some great food! Their options are super fresh and favorable. I especially enjoy their grilled shrimp with the right amount of what seems to be blackening seasoning- perfect tenderness, too. Highly recommend.

Seafood lovers, unite! More than just a fish market, Northwest Seafood is home to some delicious options fresh from the sea and the kitchen! Focusing on the market side of the biz, the team at NW Seafood offers a wide range of fresh fish and shellfish to bag up for your dinner at home! Don't want to prep your bounty by yourself? No worries - the team at Northwest Seafood has got you covered! They offer the option of having your seafood steamed or fried in-house, taking the work out of it for you, and leaving your only task left is to enjoy! Prepping at home? There's also a wide range of spices, sauces, local goods, and more all-you chefs out there! Looking for a quick meal option to go? Check out their daily specials! Fish Fridays are my fave, a good portion of fish prepped how you like it + fresh & yummy Hushpuppies, sweet Coleslaw, and my fave - buttery grits to pair with my Fried Fish! Can't beat it!

I walked into a building and it smelled great. A guy told me he had bought lunch from this place so I gave it a try. I thought this was solely a fish market. I tried the special for the day and it was amazing. The grilled shrimp was perfect. The plantains were perfect because I love sweet bananas with a charred surface. Definitely worth the price. The staff were nice and the order arrived sooner than the estimated time that I was given.

Beautiful fresh seafood displayed from bones to make stock to amazing fresh seafood available for you to take home and prepare or have it steamed or fried there with sides available. They have a few seats inside to dine and a few outside to dine as well. We chose to dine at home. It took us a while to be served which I didn't like but eventually someone helped us. There was a 45 minute wait to have the food steamed so we went and ran some other errands and came back an hour late and still hadn't received a call until we were parking. The shrimp were steamed perfectly. The fried plantains were great. Some were a little too bitter but the good ones were delicious. The humongous lobster tail was the best thing I've eaten the entire trip. It was so tender and delicious. I've found a new love for lobster cooked right. They offer samples of dips in the store. They also offer sample cups of the two soups of the day. They had a Scallop and Gnocchi Bisque that I decided to try on the way out the door and had to turn around and go right back in there and buy a cup it was delicious as hell. I'd eat that every single day if I could.

After reading all the fantastic reviews I thought I'd try this place.....I ordered a grouper sandwich to go. The man brought it curbside and put in the backseat. When I got back to my hotel I looked at this tiny piece of grouper, an average grocery store bun, and fries. But no utensils, ketchup, Mayo, tartar sauce or napkins. Maybe that's okay for 7.99 but it was $17.99! I drive past a Miller's Ale House. I'll try that tomorrow. Maybe it was just a fluke. But with tax it was a very lousy $20 dinner.

Can you tell how big our sandwich was?!?

I'm usually just here for the purchase of a whole salmon. Which is of great quality btw! Today my husband and I decided to have lunch since we were waiting on the fish to be cut. The salmon sandwich was a solid 5 from my husband! It was a perfectly juicy fried piece. Huge and satisfying. Next time we're going to ask for the skin to be left on if possible. I had the cod sandwich. Was also a huge portion and cooked perfectly! Can't wait to get some more!! Thanks for the "fresh from the sea goodness!"

The parking lot can get a little hectic, especially during busy hours, but once I got inside everything moved quickly. The service was fast and I really appreciated that everything is fried fresh to order, you can taste the difference. I got the wings and shrimp combo and added hush puppies. The wing batter was amazing: not greasy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly better than Popeyes or even KFC. A lot of places give you more batter than chicken, but here the chicken was moist and a good portion. The hush puppies were also surprisingly moist and flavorful, some of the best I've had since they're usually dry elsewhere. My find and I split the order and since we eat small portion we think that was a good portion for us and also had leftovers. Everything was so good I didn't even need sauce, and I'm a sauce girl through and through. Overall, great experience and I'd definitely come back when I'm craving something fresh, crispy, and satisfying.

Gainesville Seafood, out on the Eastern end of town, is that place. It may not be the easiest spot to stumble upon, but that's part of its charm. This is the kind of hidden gem that loyal regulars keep quietly to themselves, the sort of place that feels like a reward for those willing to seek it out. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, the kind of no-frills setting that lets the food do all the talking. I went for a seafood platter, which was shrimp and fish with fries. They have a variety of different kinds of fish available that you can pick from, which is a nice touch. It gives the meal a sense of personalization that you don't always find at casual seafood spots. I went with the flounder, and it turned out to be an easy choice to feel good about. The platter was generously portioned, the kind of meal that leaves you satisfied without the need to contemplate dessert. All of it was excellent. The flounder was light and flaky on the inside, with a crisp golden crust that had clearly seen well-seasoned oil and confident hands in the kitchen. The shrimp were equally well-executed. They were plump, tender, and fried just right, without any of the rubbery disappointment that lesser seafood joints often deliver. Even the fries held their own, providing a solid, starchy counterpoint to all that seafood goodness. The wait wasn't at all bad either, which is worth mentioning because a place this good can often mean a crowd. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience moved at a comfortable, easy pace. Whether you're a Gainesville local or just passing through, Gainesville Seafood is the kind of place worth going a little out of your way for, and once you've been, you'll understand why people keep coming back.

No major issues with the store, not the cleanest, brightest or comfortable place to shop, but the prices are reasonable for a meat/seafood market and they have all of the fixins' needed for a Sunday dinner after church! This day, I visited the walk-up window as I was craving a crab tray with all of the works. The woman behind the counter is the same one that's always there. What I've learned is that initially, I'm always underwhelmed by the customer service lol. She'll talk on the phone the entire order BUT she will get that order! I appreciate that the few times I have completed an order with her, she does give me a big smile and salutations and it truly goes a long way so I won't say that the service is beyond poor at all. The woman taking my order informed me that there were no more crabs which was understandable because I visited 30min before closing. I decided on a full Garlic Shrimp tray and 2 pieces of corn, 2 potatoes and 1 sausage (Heads Up: they are NOT included in the trays!!) I waited about 15 min or less and my order was ready, not a terrible wait in my eyes for seafood. I loved the sauce (although I'm regretting all of that butter today) and loved the corn & potatoes which are pretty hard to mess up. (I will say that those TWO potatoes = two slices of a potato, which is essentially 1/4th of a full potato... they should work on that math because the portion was beyond disappointing.) Both the sausage and the shrimp all tasted like they had been under a burner for hours, as they were overcooked like crazy. The full tray comes with 10 Shrimp but it seems that they gave me a little extra which I appreciate, but I only ate about 4 of them because they were so chewy. :( There's an art to Shrimp and that goes out of the window if they're not fresh or simply being reheated. I truly wish there were more seafood options in the city or I wouldn't have felt so desperate to go here! I appreciate the store, the available options and the smiles, but I don't think I will be coming back for another tray.
