They had lots of tomato plants, peppers, cabbage, cukes and lettuce all reasonably priced. We passed on the budding flowers -- just too soon in the season, we think. But they had a lot of choices, so we'll be back in mid-May. We also like their indoor store; they have some fresh-grown tomatoes that are tasty and sell some very good locally grown canned and bottled products (try their apple sauce - really yummy). It was my first visit, and I was amazed at the thousands of varieties of stunningly colorful annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, and more. Rows and Rows of beautiful flowers everywhere. We ended up buying four flats of pretty pink and purple perennials @ $2.95/flat. The Raspberry Parfait Dianthus will really beautify our mailbox. They also have a store with all sorts of home decor and furnishings. Note that Coward Farms is open during the year in three distinct time periods - Spring from May 1st - July 3rd, Fall from Sept. 1st - Oct. 31st and Christmas -starting the Friday after Thanksgiving.

There's also a bar type room in back that was dark - maybe formally for paint and sipa? The cashier was really friendly, and answered questions for a plant novice like myself.

There were a wide variety of colorful flowers, all so pretty. There is a small parking lot and great farm stand. They had drinks, candy, soaps, meats, produce, and more. I also purchased some soaps and candies. The people working there were friendly. It's definitely worth a visit!

The flowers were gorgeous and my daughter was incredibly impressed with the customer service and communication! We recently moved to the area and I'm thrilled to have found this gem. The shop has a great assortment of their products as well as other local vendors. I love their gluten free options as a celiac it is challenging to find new options. This was a fun surprise ~ we popped in after leaving White Flower Farm, it's less than 10 minutes…read moreaway. This nursery is sooo much bigger than it appears from the store front. They have a large selection of young trees and plants you would expect to find. We purchased a medium monstera, a baby snake plant, and a small jade plant. The owners were both there and very friendly and each had a different knowledge/specialty set. The biggest surprise was finding a rare horsefly eating plant! I may have to go back and get him another time.

We also purchased fresh cut flowers from her incredible gardens by the bucket then spent the morning of my wedding with my bridesmaids sipping coffee and arranging stems in mason jars for the most perfect centerpieces (and simultaneously created some of my favorite memories of my wedding day in doing so). We are eternally grateful she fit our wedding into her books in a rather short time frame and are still shocked & awed over what she had grown for us every time we look at the photos. We can't thank you enough!

We drop by Moscarillo's several times each year, sometimes finding what we want at the right price,…read moresometimes not so much. This year not so much. A couple of things about this garden shop. First, it's much larger than you might think from the road. There are lots and lots of flowers, veggies and other garden items; no quarreling over the choices to be found here. And for the most part the staff has proven helpful. Mostly. Our main issue is over the prices -- this is not a shop for anyone operating on a budget. And in the spring of 2024, it's pretty expensive here to buy potting plants, perennials, hanging baskets, fertilizer, potting soil, vegetables and the like. You may legitimately argue over whether the likes of Home Depot and Lowes can match the quality here, but they certainly do better when it comes to pricing. Check it out -- you may disagree. But at least you have been cautioned.

We stopped in the Moscarillo's Torrington nursery just because we happened to be driving by on our…read moreway home from visiting White Flower Farm in the Litchfield area. What a pleasant surprise! This place is a lot bigger than it looks. We found the very hard to find Donkey Tail or Burrito succulents! We bought 2 of those, a String of Teardrop, and a tiny String of Pearls. I also found the most beautiful rain gauge there. They had a really nice selection of all landscaping plants and flowers, even a nice sized selection of houseplants. Everything in this store is well taken care of and healthy. Lastly, the prices were very reasonable. I can highly recommend this place.
