Then we walked down to the lovely tulip field to pick our own tulips. While there are only about 6 rows of tulips, they are absolutely gorgeous. You're also allowed to pick the bulbs and bring them home with you, so I can't wait to try growing my own next year. It's a great way to spent an hour or so picking your own flowers and supporting a local business. I'll def have to come back for if they do other food picking later on in the year!

However, the stars finally aligned this summer after he finally realized two things 1) We eat a ton (not literally...ok maybe literally) of vegetables year round and 2) He saw the diversity of produce one of his co workers' received each week from a CSA at Bishop's Farm last year. CSA programs provide a great opportunity that links the farmer directly to the consumer It's a great way to cut out the middleman, develop a relationship with a local farm and get weekly or or twice monthly fresh produce during the spring and summer growing season. Over the winter we signed up and paid a membership fee to buy "shares" for the spring and summer growing season. These membership fees do vary by farm and depends on things like production costs, what produce you receive, and growing season. Beckett Farm had the option of an early Summer Share and a Regular Summer Share. The early Summer Share ran from May to the end of June. Pick up throughout the entire season was on Mondays from 4-7pm. If they had "left over or extra" we had the option to purchase additional items. From the first week we knew that we had made the right decision - fresh asparagus, lettuce, radishes and beets were filled our first box along with lemon basil - a new to me herb. The difference between fresh picked asparagus cooked on the grill and what you find in the grocery store is like night and day. During the summer we opted for the Summer Share where received a box of produce every other week. We chose this option instead of the weekly share since it is just Mark and I we were not sure 1) how much produce we would get each week and 2) how much of the food that we received we would actually eat and how much would go to waste. I am happy to report that only about 5% or less went to "waste". The rest was happily eaten and some itemzs (like the snap peas and green beans) have been frozen for winter use. The produce varied from week to week depending on what was ripe and ready to be harvested. Some weeks we had a variety of different fruits and vegetables and other weeks we had a lot of the same thing. This was trulely an adventure and definately got Mark and I out of our comfort zone. It forced us to try things (like mustard greens and japanese eggplant) that we would probably not bought on our own. That's one of the beauties of Becktt Farm and CSA program in general - the ability to get fresh fruits and vegetables and a chance to expand your culinary horizons. I also loved the fact that I received an email each Monday before our pick up to let us know what would be in our shares. I can honestly say this was an awesome experience for Mark and I and we can't wait until 2013 to sign up again!

The chef Ryan is so talented and passionate. The whole story as to how this started and how the team came together is so inspiring. The food was fantastic as was the drinks, ambiance and service. Follow them on socials-they do the farm dinners through October and then switch to cafes and coffee shops during the colder months. This meal was truly a highlight of 2026!

They also have other locally made products from around CT including milk, cheeses, honey, jams, maple syrup, pies, ice cream, plants, dog treats, and more! I got a bottle of Chocolate Milk from Hyde's Dairy Farm (located in Franklin, CT) and it was so chocolatey and delicious! The stand is open every day 9AM-6:30PM from Memorial Day through December 31st, and Tuesday-Sunday 10AM-5:30PM from January 2nd to Memorial Day. From November through May, their CT Handmade Gift Shop is open and filled with beautiful creations made by local artists throughout the state. When I went, there was one female employee working behind the counter who was very friendly. Make sure to stop by and check out Killam and Bassette Farmstead!

Who hasn't used Henkel Dial soap? We grew up using the iconic gold bar soap! Honestly, I didn't…read morerealize it is antibacterial until today. I also did not know Dial was the "first ever soap in space" until reading about Dial soap on their website. The Dial bar soap, introduced in the 1940s has morphed into a variety of Dial products including men's shower gel, ladies shower gel, children's shower gel, and liquid hand soaps. The Dial body washes range in varieties from hydrating, sensitive skin, exfoliation, advanced clean and more. It's niice to see Dial offers a foaming hand soap these days, too! Who doesn't love a nice foam soap? Other Henkel products I have used and enjoy/enjoyed are Breck hair care products, Renuzit air freshener and Snuggle fabric softener. I like the Renuzit gel air fresheners and they come in over twelve fragrances. We don't use liquie fabric softeners any more; however, I have used and like the Snuggle liquid fabric softener. Snuggle also offers dryer sheets and scent boosters. Soft Scrub is another Henkel product I have used for decades! Thanks, Henkel!

I called the Henkel Corporation to complain about their Loctite Super Glue that I just opened this…read moremorning. The entire container was hard as a rock and it would not dispense. I called the company and they never called me back. I called again two days later and Kara, in customer service, would not help me. She said it was an older bottle. Well, I just bought it from Amazon. Thank goodness Amazon made good on their promise. Henkel sure does not. I will look for a different superglue company as this one does not back up its products. Very disappointing..like this was my fault?

They also do deliveries even though I'm not in town. I really can't ask for more than that. This fall I bought my first snowblower from John and it's been perfect. Any questions I had before purchasing the machine, while buying it and during delivery were always answered promptly and without judgment. Anything that needs service in the future that's beyond my capabilities will definitely be going to this shop.

We were driving by on our way to another farm and we saw the sign that said .99 for a pound of apples. We decided to check it out and we call to get more information about times and days. It just so happened that a truck was driving by and encouraged us to drive up the road where this lovely lady welcomed us and showed us the way to Apple picking. We were told and observed that they also sell Christmas trees and they have reopened the apple picking this year. Long story short we had an entire orchard just for ourselves and a great time picking Golden delicious and Gala apples. They had more varieties but these were our favorites. Cash only but a great value! We got a bushel of apples for $20! You can't beat that!

It's Home Depot not a nightclub but the plants always seem healthy. Last time I was here there was a confrontation between the police and an Asian gentlemen. I watched for awhile and nothing spectacular came of it. Kinda would say that's the *vibe* for this store. One other time this lady who worked here was rude... I was here right at opening and went to walk in and boy she shut those doors quick. Idk why they were unlocked but I didn't unlock them and thus was a little taken again. Figured that was just a once off. For all of these reasons, 4/5 ... maybe 85/100 if this was a test. We could call it a "B"

They excelled in customer service and inventory. I needed a small section of shelving to replace the warped and bowed pressboard shelf that came with our house. I measured up what we needed, found a suitable replacement (Medium Density Fiberboard) and asked one of their sales associates to cut it to size for me, No problem -zip, zip, zip and it was done. As part of our remodeling initiative we needed a new medicine cabinet, shower light, and some high powered light bulbs for the living room lamps. We were very impressed by the quantity and selection they had on the shelves and we ended up getting everything we wanted. Home Depots are not all alike, We've previously visited their locations in West Hartford, Bloomfield, Torrington, and Southington. And I will look you right in the eye and tell you the Glastonbury store was the very best Home Depot we've ever seen.

Bought a tractor he delivered it and told me he went through it oil, plugs, filters etc. I told him I needed it for snow he told me it runs great and in great condition any problems let him know. I called the local mower shop to have them check it out on 4/24/26 the day after I bought it. He couldn't fit me until 2 weeks later, 2 weeks ( so just about 4 weeks now not quite) the local guy calls me to tell me the tractor was in a fire, the engine swapped out and there is water in the engine oil.Not good so I called True who had several responses, I must have left it out in the rain, he doesn't know anything about it, it is an As is sale. He proceeded to send me a text and wanted to talk to my local guy.my local guy wants nothing to do with him feels he gives small engine repair guys a bad reputation. i wanted him to work with me but he just did want to be accountable and play the blame game.

We had a reply back within an hour and had arranged for them to come pick it up that afternoon. Keep in mind this is just before a snowstorm and they also a plowing service so they were busy. They had it repaired and brought back to us in less than 48 hours and just before another snowstorm coming this weekend. We would highly recommend them and we will be contacting them just before spring to have our lawnmower service.

Our toddlers met Santa and Mrs. Clause, enjoyed delicious hot chocolate and fresh donuts, rode in their barrel train (WITH SANTA), and enjoyed strolling through their indoor market. All staff was SO friendly and nice. Truly felt like I could stay here all day. Toddlers and adults had a fantastic time and are looking forward to coming next winter season.
