We have been blessed to have Dr Rosie and RayLynn as our family vet clinic for a big orange cat of 17 years and a beautiful perfect golden doodle for her almost 13 years. Their passion for our pets health, their kindness, the empathy and knowledge, excellent surgery skills, their call backs, their being a family business instead of a corporation which changes staff constantly- theres just so much positive here when we want and need a vet for life. I'd clone them if I could. i dont want them to ever retire! we got lucky finding them in Arlington after trials with a few other vet clinics in the city we had lived in when we first got of cat then our dog. read more

TERRIBLE, zero stars!!! I have a cat who was a patient there for 13 years. I adopted her after her first owner died. She had diabetes and detached retinas, neither of which Dr Rosie was aware of when I took her for an exam. Now I find that the wife (front desk person) must have blacklisted this poor cat because (1) they never answer the phone and (2) they never call me back! My cat was unable to pass urine, I left a message at 1:30 (they were at their 2-hour lunch, good grief) and again at 3:15 (when they should have been back from their 2 hour lunch). Never a call back. What kind of person does that knowing I'm desperate for help with this poor cat? I just can't believe that these people are still in business. I wish they would retire and sell the clinic to someone who actually CARES about animals and customer service. Good luck with leaving a message and actually getting a response from Mrs Rosie. She does not represent her husband well. read more

If not for the quality care provided by Dr. Rosie himself, I would have given this business a rating of 1 star. Our problems with Northwest Veterinary Clinic started a little more than a year ago with the receptionist and the frequent lack of responses to our phone messages and blocked attempts to visit the office during business hours. We have experienced dozens of occasions where we have called during business hours, and no one answers the phone. Ever. Because our dog was so sick and was getting good treatment from Dr. Rosie, we put up with it. We were forced to leave messages, only to have them returned oftentimes 24 hours later or, in some cases, more than three days later. About a year ago, we showed up at 1:30 to pick up a prescription for our dog's medication, only to discover that, unbeknownst to us, the receptionist had started closing the office at 1 p.m. for an hour so that she could "catch up on phone messages." That policy is not posted anywhere in their office, and it certainly was never communicated to us during any of our visits. On one other occasion, I arrived at 3:00 p.m. only to find the office was locked again with the receptionist sitting behind the desk. She threw her hands up in the air at me behind the glass door as if I was inconveniencing her. Each trip to that vet is a 30-minute, one-way drive for us -- so I had to sit in my car until she opened the door at 3:15. It's odd that any business would shut down for an hour in the middle of the business day, at 1 p.m. (the lunch hour I could understand). But clearly that policy was applied inconsistently. The receptionist often berated us for silly things, made snarky comments and was generally unpleasant. Her demeanor seems to have changed markedly in the past year or so. Again, we were willing to overlook these indignities and inconveniences in exchange for the quality care we received from the veterinarian. The final straw for us occurred a little more than a week ago when we called to have our dog's life-saving prescription renewed. Again, we left a message and days went by with no response. Our puppy's medicine ran out over the weekend, and he passed away Monday morning. Though no one can ever know for sure if he passed because he didn't have his meds, I have to think it was, at the very least, hastened because of it. About a month ago, I decided to take one of our cats to the Arlington Veterinary Hospital instead. I received excellent care at that facility and was treated with dignity by all of the staff. That's my recommendation for all the readers of this post. read more

First of all I wouldn't even give them a star but I would like to write a review so I have to give them one. I took my dog to get his nails trimmed, because he was fidgety they took him away from me and into the back. Afterward getting home the dog seemed exhausted and was not walking correctly or being his normal self. I called back and they told me that he had to be restrained, keep in mind this is a dachshund and super sweet dog. After speaking to the receptionist she seemed likely to be cooperative and said bring him back in to examine him. Later she called back saying that the doctor would not see him. They took no responsibility for hurting my dog and were rude and impatient with me and my dog in the process. It has been 6 days and my dog is still not normal, something happened to him and they will not take any responsibility or care for me or my dog. Very disappointed in the reaction that I got from them. I would not recommend them to anyone especially if you are looking for someone to actually care. For someone who supposedly loves animals these people are terrible. Also they NEVER answer the phone, super annoying when trying to get hold of them. read more

Dr. Rosie is a knowledgeable, honest, compassionate vet - a rare jem who reminds me of the vets I knew growing up in the MIdwest. He actually takes the time to know your animal, is current on the best and latest treatments, and provides great referrals to specialists whenever needed. I drive a long distance just to make sure my dogs are in his warm and intelligent care. I can't emphasize how much the drive is worth it - I feel genuinely honored to have met this man. If you've ever read "All Creatures Great and Small," Dr. Rosie is that kind of vet. This is a very small shop, so the phone isn't always answered in person, but they always follow up when you leave a message. I have always been treated with kindness and respect by Dr. Rosie and his staff, which is much appreciated, especially in the sad and challenging times of a pet's life. (Bonus, Arlington is a super cute town.) read more

I absolutely love Dr. Rosie and his staff! He is honest and genuinely cares about his patients. I can't speak to his honesty enough - it is so hard to find a vet that is as honest about treatment options as Dr. Rosie is. Nobody answers the phone because they are a small clinic with a small staff, however they do call back and they are responsive. They are dedicated to their patients and when they aren't answering the phone that means they are with their patients. I even moved farther south away from Arlington and will continue to go out of my way and drive up there because he is that great! read more

Dr. Rosie seems like a caring doctor but his receptionist (older woman) is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I can no longer take my dog to Northwest after being continuously disrespected by her. She has no compassion for dogs in hospice and and she is so cold and uncaring it's sad. I have seen her disrespect other clients as well, as long hearing her being rude on phone calls while I am in the waiting room. I have no idea why Dr. Rosie would employ this woman. Dr. Rosie provides excellent care, Mrs. Rosie gets us in as soon as possible if we have an unusual situation. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Dr. Rosie is a great vet, but his office is difficult to deal with. When I call no one ever answers the phone. The answering machine is almost always on. I personally prefer to talk to a person when I call. I made an appointment to have my dogs get a health certificate. On the day of the appointment I get a call that they can't do a health certificate because Dr. Rosie has allowed his accreditation to lapse. I have to fly with my dogs this week and now I have to find a different vet to get my paperwork. Not exactly what I call reliable. I plan on finding a different veterinarian for my future business. read more

I just called here to ask about my pregnant cat and what I should do to prepare and the woman I spoke to was not nice at all, I could barely even hear her so I had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times. I've been looking for a new vet because I moved from Everett to Arlington and wanted to go somewhere close to home but she didn't even let me tell her that she just asked if I've taken any pet to a clinic in the last 1-3 years and told me to go there. She seemed to have no interest in talking to me so when I said thank you she said you're welcome and instantly hung up. I can honestly say that this is the first time I've ever had a receptionist make me not want to go somewhere. read more

I have never been treated so horrible by a veterinary staff. I worked at a vet clinic as well as an Animal shelter for several years and this "vet clinic" If you can even call it that was NOTHING but disrespectful and rude I was in a hysterical state due to my best friend Brutus my 10 week old rottweiler puppy to being hit by a car. I brought him in to seek help for my poor puppy and instead of helping me they told me there was nothing they could to to save him and proceeded to be put in a towel and carried back out to my car. So of course I am hysterically crying and weeping for my sweet puppy who passed far to soon. I had several family members with me and I didn't want them to see me in such a vulnerable heartbroken state. I tried to cry at the side of the building but instead of being compassionate the way a vet clinic should these people failed to realize how upset I was they continued to tell me that I couldn't go back there and told me if I did the cops would be called for TRESPASSING are you kidding!? Then as I hung my head in sadness and despair to losing my baby dog. They told us to leave the property due to the "Technicians having a long day and she was in desperate need of getting home" The lack of compassion was heart wrenching. WHAT?! I'm broken over my puppy and you just need to go home?? My Sweet innocent puppy is no longer able to go home. I do understand they couldn't do anything to save him but the way they went about it was ALL wrong! I will ensure no one else experiences this traumatic experience. I am floored this is acceptable behavior and how they run their establishment This was OVERALL the WORST experience I have EVER had! I will NEVER come to this vet clinic. I have since gotten Brutus' brother who I have named Bruno. I will NEVER bring him to this clinic. read more

Dr. Rosie and his wife, Raeleen, are wonderful. They are very professional, punctual and remember us and our dogs. Their enthusiasm and love for animals are very evident. We are proud to have all of our pets under their care. read more

We've taken our cats to Dr. Rosie for many years. He's a great vet. It is a small operation so occasionally we get the answering machine when we call, but it's never been a problem for us. They always call back and have been very responsive. I hope Dr. Rosie remains in active practice for many years. We wouldn't take our cats anywhere else. read more
