I called to get a prescription dog food refilled but only needed one more bag because my dog was going to be euthanized within the week. They told me I would have to bring her in for her yearly exam. I was horrified, why would they need to do an exam for maybe 7 days more life? She was 17 years old with existing conditions so they knew she was at the end of her life. I've taken 2 of my fur babies there and they have always been helpful and kind. I have 3 that are all from the same litter so they get along really well. Instead of having to make 3 more trips from Marysville I asked if I could bring them all together. I paid a $250 deposit that would be put towards all of the exams and shots which I was fine with. I ended up having to cancel and didn't reschedule. I just remembered about my credit and called them up to make an appointment. I was worried that since it had been a couple years they might have a hard time still finding it. Thankfully it took no time at all to find it and reschedule, so their bookkeeping is really good! We believe the older Veterinarian was drunk or high,he was wobbly on his feet and slurring his speech. I asked for liquid filled lumps to be checked,he said they were fine just by looking at the tiny bit of liquid he drew out with a needle. Never mind that he did not check it. I have nothing bad to say about this clinic , people who are giving bad reviews I'd say just had one bad experience , some just can't properly communicate , I'm not sure . Been taking my dog here for almost 3 years now and no complaints , he got neutered here , he gets all his care here . Sometimes it can be hard to get through to them , like to get an appointment fast , but again they aren't urgent care or emergency care so I don't know why you'd expect them to be able to take in you in fast , especially if you're having an emergency; like if you were having an emergency you wouldn't call your family doctor , you'd go to an emergency room , same here lmao. They usually tend to be very understanding and patient , my pup is not very good with men, so I asked if it's possible to have a female doctor and they made sure that happened , as well as made a note for the future appointmentssuper patient with the dogs too , my pup has a bit of an anxiety issue , since we got him during covid he didn't get to socialize too much , but every appointment the doctor is always patient with him , gets on the floor with him to make sure he can get comfortable and feel less scared , so so grateful for this clinic and their staff When it comes to prices you just have to communicate , like if you were just coming for a check up and they tell you that your dog has some kind of issue and need extra testing / medicine / lab work , you just ask them for an estimate and they always give it to you before moving further. We recently transitioned all of our animals to Affordable Pet Care. After having issues with Northwest Veterinary Clinic of Stanwood and losing our appointment on their schedule (see my review there, for additional details), i couldn't be happier with our decision to come here. Affordable Pet Care has an effective system for schedules and are flexible with appointments, including not needing to schedule a full appointment for something as simple as a blood lab (simply drop your animal off for the blood draw and go). This was an issue with Northwest Veterinary Clinic, and they would bill you full price for an appointment. Not the case at Affordable Pet Care. Affordable Pet Care is also considerably cheaper and the quality of care the pets receive is the same, if not better, than the competition. So far, I've found the personnel, Dr. Brands and Emily, to be great, personable and helpful. This is also true for the associates at the desk, who are always pleasant and nice. I am very thankful that I made the switch to Affordable Pet Care, and couldn't be happier with the service they provide. read more

What a caring group of people at Affordable Pet Care clinic. While I don't like the Covid restrictions that limits access inside the vet clinic, I still can appreciate their professionalism & compassionate care they provide for both of our (elderly) pets, Lena & Simon. They will call if a cancellation occurs to get in (both) my pets, at the same time, so they are seen in a timely manner. The clinic clearly provided me all pertinent info re: recommended care due for my pets. They always have informed me of the options & answered all my questions. My 10 yr old Yorkie-Poo ended up needing 8 extractions. I had been informed prior to his dental cleaning, it could be an issue. It turns out it's not so uncommon especially in his breed & explained his bad breath. I was provided the option of a call or allow them to do what was in his best healthcare needs. I was called with an update & recommended treatment options prior to having them performed. Our 15 year old cat was acting lethargic & had lost 25% of her body weight in 1 year. My pets have been going here for awhile now and let me tell you I wouldn't go anywhere else. My dog Hubert, my cat's Bella and Kevin and my Armadillo Tripod get the greatest care a pet owner can ask for. Not only is it affordable like it says in the name but they take very good care of my babies. Hubert just got the snip a few weeks ago and is recovering well and has no complaints about his care here. The staff are great and I always get my questions answered too. When Tripod was feeling under the weather they were more than eager to take a look at him and didn't even get weird about why I have a 3 legged armadillo as a pet. He was a rescue Armadillo. Anyway you can rest assured your pets are going to get the best care here and they don't gouge you on the price like is says in the name. Affordable and Awesome. Dr. Amy Gerrish is the best vet we have ever had. My dog has cushings and was acting really sluggish and wasn't eating or drinking, so I called really worried. Dr. Gerrish was off that day but came in on her day off to get him seen asap. Not only did she come in on her day off, but she also called us that evening to check in on him. I have never had a vet care so much! She is amazing and we drive all the way from Everett to see her and not to mention they really are affordable! Thank you to the whole staff and especially Dr. Gerrish for being so kind and loving to Nigel. Also my parents have been taking all our family cats and dogs there for years and love it! read more

This facility is not "Affordable". They give you an estimate, then it is doubled by the time you check out. They do not have a very professional customer service. Had to sit in the lobby and listen to allot of personal conversations between the staff. The vet was not respectful enough to take us into a private room and conducted all my personal business in the waiting room. Had to sit in the lobby thru the whole experience. My normal vet always conducts her exams and my business in a private room. When my normal vet assistant reads all recommendations for our visit she reviews the expense and confirms that the recommendations and price works for me. Not Affordable Pet Care, they blindsided me with my service price doubled and customer service looked at me like they do not know what to say. If I coukd give a 4.5 star review, I would, but yelp only has the whole star, and they are better than four stars, so I rounded up. The GOOD: I called in looking for a place to clean my fur baby's teeth and do a couple extractions, I was referred here by another vet that didn't do them. Our regular vet was quoting me $1'500 for just the cleaning and one extraction. I was floored at that cost. When I called in the lady I spoke to was wonderful and nice, and a bit hesitant to give me a quote, but I had set aside $500 for the procedure, and she assured me it wouldn't be that much. I set up an appointment three weeks in advance and after everything was said and done it was only $150 dollars. That included my fur baby's rabies shot, medication, and the whole procedure. Awesome! The wonderful gal, who is blonde (and who's name I didn't get :-( ), explained what they did and why and even showed me why they left the big tooth in. She said she petted my baby and cuddled her and took her jacket off, on her lunch. This woman was awesome! I couldn't be happier with her. The BAD: When we arrived it was pouring outside, so I put my dogs light pink waterproof fleece lined jacket on to keep her warm (as she doesn't have much hair), and I also brought her pink blanket with her (for familiar smells and less stress). We were the only people in there st 8:30, and my dog doesn't have a leash as she is a service animal. The lady (the darker haired one) looked up and said, "Is that one on a leash?", she didn't refer to my dog as a her or say hi to her, in any way. I understand aski ng about a leash, but my dog was calm and quiet, and we were the ONLY people in there. This same lady referred to my dog as ,"that one", again while reading the paperwork I filled out (to ask if she was fixed or not). My boyfriend picked her up and held her while I filled out the required paperwork. The lady took my fur baby, and told us when she would be ready, I kissed my pup good bye, and we left waving goodbye. This is my kid and service dog, I was nervous. One would think that they would take her jacket off in a heated space, BEFORE the kennel. She did not. This lady obviously couldn't be bothered to care about the animals that are admitted. Even if you tell her. Even my boyfriend said the lady obviously hates her job. And he is incredibly laid back. SUMMARY: In any case, amazing for the most part and super helpful and friendly. And the prices for a teeth bc leaning and extraction are phenomenal, they obviously care about what they do. read more

We waited 12 days for an appointment, frustrating yet understandable during COVID times. They suspected an ear infection for our dog, so they took a sample swab and sent it off to the lab. Again, frustrating we couldn't get an immediate answer, however grateful that they took the problem seriously. It then took another 5 days before getting a call from the vet saying they finally had determined the issue. In the meantime, our dog is miserable and in pain. Once they finally determined treatment, they said the medication needed (standard ear infection ointment) was not carried by their practice, and needed to be purchased from their online pharmacy. While the DR's were great here, their practice is severely lacking and clearly focused on money making, not their animals well-being. We will not be returning or recommending this vet to others. read more

I'm currently dealing with a pug who's had a respiratory infection for a month. Poor little guy has been to this vet clinic several times, and everyone there has been so good with him. He lost his mind getting his toenails trimmed and anal glands expressed, and the techs were total pros and got it done without any bloodshed. Dr Amy is amazing! She has called daily checking on our pug, and has been super thorough about talking with radiologists, the lab, and with us about his test results. To their great credit, Dr Amy has acknowledged that our pugs situation exceeds what they can do at the clinic, and that he needs a specialist that deals with respiratory issues. Dr Amy has been great with helping with a referral, and making a scary issue much less stressful. We've been going here for years with both our Pug (Frankie) and yellow lab (Banjo) and they are great with routine checkups and immunizations too. I am so happy with our service at Affordable Pet Care. I took my dog in there for a dental cleaning for a base price of $150. After six extractions, some antibiotics and pain meds to take home it came to $246. This was about 1/3 of the price I was quoted from other vets with just one extraction. They were friendly and so gently with my little man. He was a little woozy when he got home but wasn't upset in the slightest. I would absolutely make the drive from Everett again. read more

Adding a new update if i could rate 0 stars now i would. My new vet confirmed my dog was completely misdiagnosed at APC. He doesn't have and enlarged heart or heart condition at all. APC must have mixed his tests and images up with someone else's or they were lying to me just trying to get me to buy food and meds through theor clinic I am disgusted. If you do take your pet here see Dr. Cook. Dr Amy and another female there need some continued education and classes in communication. So to add to this long story changed my review to 1 star. I would not recommend this vet. They had me drive to their clinic with my dog who has heart issues for what i thought was going to be an appointment. They refused to see him because the day prior i dropped the "s" word and f bomb on the phone after getting 3 calls asking me for my dog's records when he was only seen at that clinic. On the phone i apologized to the person i told them I was having a terrible day and i have already had major issues with mistreatment of a pet there. If they actually cared about pets they could have spoke to me on the phone so I could have made my dog an appointment somewhere else or seen my dog at least and had me wait in the car. My intial review of this place was 5 stars and went down to one. This place is fairly priced, but it seems really hit and miss. They have multiple vets and they will schedule pets from the same house with different vets and I feel the level of care and communication differs from each vet and day to day. I always arrive early to my appointments lately no matter if it's the morning or afternoon I'm seen late. I know the vet industry is short staffed right now but that does not excuse major communication issues. I have had 2 recent experiences (Feb./March 2022) where I'm told my pet is ready for pick up and I show up and it is not the case. Right now im traveling from N. Everett because I wanted to find a vet to get my Animals situated with before I move to Skagit County. I feel like after these 2 experiences I will be on the hunt for a different vet where I feel more comfortable with how my animals are being treated and that their treatment is not being rushed. I was told by the front desk to come back in 35 mins while I'm writing this review a vet assistant showed up at my car with my cat in her carrier... so if I would have left would they still have put my cat through the stress of walking around the parking lot looking for me? I did previously give this a 5 star but I've changed it to a 1 star because there is no such thing as a no star rating. First of all, Dr. Pat has sold this business and is now gone, he was the heart and soul of this clinic and he and his old staff, to which are all gone now, deserved all the stars they could get. The new owner has expanded, jacked up prices and changed their name to "Affordable Pet Care" for which I laugh because they are just as pricey as anyone else now. I've only visited the new vet (owner) once, and unfortunately it was to put my good ole boy down. He was horrible, muzzling my dog, bungling the anesthesia and making me wait in the car with him for several hours to get it done. I've had several animals put down in my many years but this is the only one that I cried like a baby for his horrid experience and swearing off this mans professionalism. He may be okay for some of you but you couldn't pay me to go back. I now go to Cedardale Neuter and Vaccination clinic that runs pretty much like the old clinic here. You'll also notice that the good reviews are before the business sold, or when Pat was still there. Not anymore. The prices are good but my experience there was not a good one. I went in knowing what test my dog needed but I felt super pressured by the vet to add another test on that didn't need to be done. He kept coming in and asking me over and over again until I finally gave in. I feel like the money I paid for the test should be returned to me due to how he pressured me into it. Our experience was great. We have 6 dogs and 3 cats.The staff was super with us. Now the practice is by appointment only. Versus just drop in as was previous. We live in Everett and worth the 40 minute drive. The staff is friendly, considerate, and thorough. I've learned to call between 10 a.m. and 230. Dr. Knigge is wonderful! He and his staff are honest and genuinely care about the well-being of the pets that are brought in to see them. They are REAL people who aren't going to make you feel bad or inadequate (financially, as a pet owner, or as a human being). Not one animal freaked out when they walked in. I've never seen that before and I think that says a lot about a vet. Animals can sense things and they know they will be in good hands. I saw some negative feedback about his staff and was a little hesitant in going there. My experience was quite the opposite. And while there was a 2 hour wait - it was worth it! And during that time I did not see anyone have a bad experience. In fact there was nothing but praise coming from all the patrons. (If you're used to being sucked up to in a fake manner in order to fork up the cash, I guess you could decide to go somewhere else and pay for that type of experience.) When it was our turn the focus was not on time or money but on the well-being of my pet and reassurance that my choices were OK and not detrimental to my pet. (Another place said pay thousands or euthanize. Dr. Knigge's first words - euthanasia was NOT EVEN AN OPTION with my pet's condition!) I can't thank them enough for being REAL HONEST and shooting it straight! I wish I could shout it on the mountain tops how great they are so folks who have bad experiences elsewhere know where to go. Down falls (but can be planned around and didn't impact my 5 star rating because all of the info shared above out weighs them): They are closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Only take appointments for surgery. Walk-ins start at 1:00. Expect to wait (but they're honest with their estimates on how long you will wait.) Dr.Pat has treated all of our family pets for many years. He helped us ease our bull mastiff dog named Scout when the time was getting near the end for her. He saved my parents tiny little Yorkie named Molly when she had breast cancer and he is the only one I will take my little yorkie named Chloe too. He takes his time to chat and you never feel rushed. He provides the best care around, with that being his solid focus. While having the lowest prices around. That says a lot to me. Since the new doctor, the prices have steady increased, which is understandable. I'll pay more for quality care. But when my dog had a "wellness exam" in May of this year, where they said he's current on shots, healthy, and needs nothing but his allergy shot, then 7 months later they tell me they have no record of his vaccinations.... Then he would need another wellness exam, vaccinations, everything they could think of BEFORE he could receive his allergy shot. That's when I get upset. She's had a complete dental (at half the price of other local vets), and twice for tooth extractions (she's a compulsive chewer to the point she breaks teeth). Me and my family have been to this clinic many times. Every time we were ignored upon check-in and often times spoken to rudely and in a condescending manner. The Vet says on his cards that he takes walk-ins until 5pm (on his cards and on the front of his business door). I got there one day at about ten till 5pm. I checked in and sat down and then the receptionist ran over to me and yelled at me that if I wanted to see Dr. Knigge, I had better be there no later than 4:45 pm. I was shocked that I was getting scolded, and angry that I had to get yelled at over being 5 minutes late, when the door clearly states walk-ins are welcome until 5:00pm. Ridiculous! The two receptionist act as if they are really doing you a favor by allowing you to set foot in the office. They try and act like the Dr. when you are booking a service. They seem to question you as a dog or cat owner at every turn. The office is really out of date as well. They don't have a computer system to work with their clients. They only take cash or checks. But when you actually have a question regarding clerical issues, they couldn't be ruder or more dismissive. I had to start asking the doctor during my OV appts., to print off my receipts, b/c the receptionist refused to do it. At each office visit I tried to kill them with kindness, but they never seemed to notice or care, they just seemed annoyed that another person walked thru the door. The Doctor is nice, but he needs continuing education. First, I brought my dog in for her regular vaccinations, I told Dr. K. that I really didn't want to give them, as she was an indoor dog, but he convinced me otherwise. She got the shots, and later that night her whole face swelled up and her right eye started watering. Her face was hot to the touch, and her ears and nose were pink/red. She was obviously having an allergic reaction or something. She has never had this reaction before. Dr. K. was not concerned at all..didn't even ask me to bring her in. Next, I requested that my dog have blood work done---it was off the charts!! He told me that it was "just her" and nothing to worry about. About 6+ months later, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and cancer and I had to put her down. If Dr. K. would take more time with his patients and use a more proactive approach, his patients would fare a lot better, IMO. I no longer trust his judgment on my new dog and neither does my family. The following is what I found out after taking my new dog to a regular clinic to be neutered: ALL spay/neuter clinics operate a cetain way in order to offer you low prices. During the spay's and neuter's, the animals are NOT put under anesthesia. They don't do pre-op blood work, which is often reccomended for puppies. But if your not using anesthesia I guess you wouldn't need it. Most veterinarians give your pet a sedative injection to calm the pet prior to the anesthesia. Once the anesthesia is given, there is someone monitoring them the whole time and fluids are given. I have been taking my pets here for many years and never had a complaint. Unfortunately Dr. Pat is not here anymore. The new vet is horrible. I brought my puppy in to be spayed and the scar was horribly ugly and got infected, then I took her in for an eye problem and the vet didn't even look in her eyes before telling me everything was normal. How can you know everything is ok if you don't bother to look? Also their prices are way higher than before. If you love your pet, take them to a better more professional clinic.
