The tour wasn't as long as I remembered it being, and the marsupials weren't quite as snuggly. However, the variety was amazing. There were tiny baby lemurs on display, a mama wallaby with a baby in her pouch, burros, kissing alpacas, emus you could pet... it's a pretty unique experience. I only removed one star because I felt rushed through. In the past I don't recall feeling like I was being held to a tight time limit, and that was a little disappointing. Overall, it's a cool experience, and I highly recommend it-- especially for those with children.

They also have some other exotic animals at the end that are housed/ in isolated living quarters to see but you can't feed them.

A short drive from my boyfriend's Aunt's house we got here when it opened which gave us ample time to check out the zoo before we flew out that day. One of the wonderful characteristics of this zoo that we loved was how easy it was to walk through the different areas. We certainly used the maps, the directional posts, and checked out our surroundings when we felt like we might be a little lost but it is certainly a lovely walkable zoo. Each pathway takes you though different exhibits and areas. We happened to be here on a field trip day so there were a bunch of groups out and about and several mom groups it seemed like as well. Some of the bigger exhibits had Zoo docents or staff near by to answer questions and help us to get closer to see some of the beautiful animals. We happened to get lucky on this visit because we got to see the Tiger, which apparently, doesn't come out much and we got to see baby lion cubs too! It got pretty loud in the area to see the cub but luckily one of the zoo staff kept the area from being too rowdy. Another great thing about this zoo was how sustainable and eco-friendly it is. We stepped into the cafeteria/concession area and we saw that there were no plastic bottles in sight. All drinks were in a can, even water! Love that!! We managed to make it through the whole zoo and left feeling as though it was one of the most integrative and interactive zoos we had been too. We loved walking through the different aviary exhibits where you're enclosed in it and walking through different birds. The Over head tunnels for the Tree Kangaroo and the red panda nearby. It was fun to walk through and be surrounded by part of the animal's exhibit rather than the exhibit be just a square space. Before we left we stopped at the giftshop to get something I could remember this visit by and I settled on the orange red panda tee. Ended up being the exact same shirt my sister got herself from this zoo several years ago!! Definitely check this zoo out when you're in Seattle! It's a gem!

They have otter experience where you can buy fish, feed them, cuddle them etc for 1 hour. It's $65 per person and booked out till July. The reptiles - snake room was the creepiest. So loud! Because the rattlers were rattling. Crazy loud. Once you walk out, dead silent. They have snapping turtle- massive one! And several crocodiles too. Massive Nile crocodiles. Overall, it's fun. Creepy and all at once. A must visit for once or thrice. Feeding the animals was the best part.

Although it's just two rooms, we spent more than an hour here looking at the animals and then seeing the animal feeding time. The guy who was feeding the animals was super knowledgeable and informative. It sounded like he has spent a lot of time taking care of each animal. He knew so much about it was cool to see full on alligators sitting in the corner in an enclosed area. They had all the different kinds of poisonous snakes. My favorite was seeing the king cobra and reticulated python. So many cool animals. If you can make it out here in the next month or so, you should do it. So worthwhile to come and see.

Located less than an hour outside of downtown, it is home to 140 different animal species featured throughout its meandering 120 acres. Children under the age of 3 are admitted free of charge and a visit typically takes 2-3 hours. While your little ones will probably enjoy roaming the grounds on foot, you can also rent a Safari Cycle or Critter Cruiser and unlike every zoo that I've ever visited, you are also welcome to use your bicycle, scooter, rollerblades, skateboard, or wagon while exploring their nearly 2 miles of paved walkways. These are some of the largest animal enclosures that I've ever seen at a zoo and they provide you closer access to the animals than you might expect. If you anticipate that your little ones will be WAY into this adventure, and ask you animal related questions above the standard parental pay grade, well then you're in luck because guided walking and mini-bus tours are available. In addition, if the herd you are traveling with is in need of a short break from all of these animal encounters you can enjoy the picnic area, playground, and restaurant. The zoo also has a train that takes you around the entire zoo, however, it is very hard to spot animals while in the train. We paid $8/pp for the train. I would saying best way to spot the animals is walking. Since we went on a hot day, it got very tiring to walk the entire zoo and gave us half way. I wish they had water fountains in the zoo because it is so big and there is only one water fountain by the entrance which makes it hard to come back all the time to fill it up. They did have porta potties around the zoo though. They also had a light bites and souvenirs at the entrance. Would probably visit again during a colder day so that I'm able to go around better. :)

She loves bugs and so I thought she was a little biased on the place but NOPE! The place is GREAT!!! I spent about an hour and a half in there watching the bugs, googling them, they have a cool audio tour but there were two guides speaking to the interested kids and so there was no need I could overhear plenty of crazy cool facts about the bugs! I have a new appreciation for these little creatures
