This was the building with the Electronic Visualization Lab. The check in procedure was fine, and they walked us to the lab. The play involved virtual reality and questionnaires. It was an immersive and interesting experience (we were observers so we didn't wear the VR headgear). We were only in one building but it was a pretty nice one.

My daughter is graduating from college on Monday and she will be the 3rd generation in my family. My auntie-mom, me, and my daughter will take a picture with flags from our respective schools. The student center is 100% different but they have the same old lecture halls lol. There was also waaaay more cement (walkways, etc) when I was here. A lot of it has been torn down for green space. The university is constantly growing and I've watched it from afar as I've driven past over the years (I don't live far away, actually, and possibly drive past several times a week). Looks like they are building shiny new dorms. I'm happy to see their growth because that means they're doing it right. Thanks UIC for the great education. I'm not doing bad at all, if I do say so myself!

Finally after so many years our beautiful El Centro campus is complete. Architecturally it is…read moreinnovative and green friendly with its solar panels on the roof. The classes are ample for so many students but if course Northeastern has small classes which tends to give the student a wonderful education that is tailored for them. We still are in need of furniture so as the days go by, this will happen. Industrial cement is all around us and the parking lot bots ample space for over 200 cars. This was well worth it and I am in awe in the structure itself. If you see the building from the I90 you will see out school colors represented on the panels of yellow and blue. NEIU has this satellite and others but of course this is the newest and most innovative structure yet. Chicago is on the map with a new school and we are very proud of what has been accomplished. Visit the school and ask questions, you never know- you may just take classes in this hidden gem! And on te third floor we have an outside terrace overlooking the I90 through glass window panes like in downtown high rises!

My rating is solely because I've been on a bunch of campuses for book signings, and it's ALWAYS super complicated to figure out how to get from Point A to Point B (including my own alma maters). I went to this location solely for a Red Cross blood donation drive. I love how their campus is set up. Not only did they have signs on the doors and a cone out front to figure out which building to get into, but as soon as I opened my mouth to ask a student where the building was, I turned and saw a clear map to find it on my own. (I was super close so she pointed me the rest of the way. Friendly young lady.) Since I can no longer find this location in upcoming blood drives, I'm assuming that Red Cross may not be there permanently. But the campus is clean. The front desk people (for the school) were professional. The two students (workers?) who were on the Red Cross side were organized and professional. And the attendees behind the tent were great too. I hope Loyola Rogers Park makes this a permanent thing. Although I walked, it's very convenient that it's accessible by the el. And it was nothing at all like all the complications I experienced at another facility trying to donate plasma. It took me longer to walk to the school than it did for the actual six-minute donation. Kudos to them for allowing Red Cross onto their campus.

This review is specifically for the M.S. Marketing Analytics (MAX) program. I cannot speak…read morepersonally to their Sustainability, MBA or (internationally-ranked) finance programs. I am writing this as a part-time, domestic graduate student who works full time and is partially employer-reimbursed but also paying out of pocket. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the M.S. MAX program as the curriculum stands today. The first few courses that are supposed to give a good introduction into modern business (BUS 510) the quantitative world of business analysis (BUS 550) did not have the depth or content to prepare students for the more rigorous courses ahead, leaving the professor and student limited time and resources to fill the gap. Overall, these courses fell well short of the nearly $5,000 worth of tuition assessed for each one. Some of the courses did provide more rigor and direction including a course on customer value, database and marketing engineering. The biggest concern I have from this school is the lack of career resources. If the main goal of the program is to prepare students for impactful careers, then the networks and informational opportunities leave a large gap that does not justify the time and cost that the program demands. The school will use in their informational flyers that the M.S. MAX program is the first of it's kind in the country. But just because it is the first, doesn't make it the best. Before making the multiyear and significant financial commitment to this marketing program, I suggest doing research on other programs to make sure you get the best return and result for your time and money.

The Environmental Science course is great too.Good part is that it's located in the Downtown which makes it easier for working professionals to study part time and the Faculty here is also comprised majorly of people who are working professionals and have the right idea of the market. The only thing that I didn't like was the lack of recorded online lectures which made it necessary to attend all lectures and remember every word spoken by the professors in those two-and a half hour classes. Otherwise.. its a great to school to be in if you really wanna stay ahead in the financial world. I would also mention that the Finance course is a little trading oriented too. More courses can be found related to trading then any other specialisation.

They are converted from apartments, a century old, but clean, well maintained, convenient to the campus, relatively safe and quite comfortable. This was the first time that we went to the Chicago Center for Arts and Technology (CHICAT) to…read moreattend their opening reception of the exhibition "Where Our Voices Unite." This was not just an art exhibition; it was a wonderful celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month! The exhibition was professionally and tightly curated by Yidi Wang in their "Gallery 1701" that's on the second floor of CHICAT.  It was nicely lit with lots of natural light.  There was artwork with many different media. It was a beautiful space and show!  I also appreciated their mission!  The "Where Our Voices Unite" show runs from May 21st  to June 8th, 2026. All the staff including the curator Yidi Wang were very welcoming.  It was a nice surprise that we were served a delicious buffet with abundance of Asian dishes and fruits!  I have been to many art openings, but have never seen so much food in any of them before.  Wine and beverages were also served.  There were many large nicely table-clothed tables that we could seat ourselves.  It was literally a celebrative gathering for the AANHPI Heritage Month! It was nice that the 11th Ward Alderwoman Nicole Lee was a special guest and made a short speech.  The Executive Director Tina and two other directors also made a brief speech. CHICAT is a non-profit that is "building a community where creativity fuels enterprise", and is worth our support.

Northwestern is where the AMA was born. This is where Philip Kotler spent his storied career revolutionizing the maketing field. Their faculty are among the world's leaders in research. *The resources offered by Kellogg are amazing. If you're coming here for a doctorate, all the research resources you'll ever need will be given to you: computer, software, research funding, travel grants, IT support, and a very very generous stipend/fellowship to support your living expenses. If you come here for an MBA, then you should already have an idea about how heavily-recruited Kellogg is by corporations and the big consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, Booz&Co, and Bain&Co). *Aside from just Marketing, Kellogg is a Top 5 business school (as recognized by most MBA rankings), and Northwestern University is an elite private undergrad institution that turns heads. I really didn't look too much at these two rankings since the faculty and their respective department matters more for Ph.D. considerations, but it's nice to know I'm in good company all around. *Evanston is the type of college-town I fell in love with after spending a summer in Chapel Hill, NC (a nice change from my undergrad in La Jolla, CA). There is a small-town spirit, and the city is very very revolved around Northwestern (NCAA football season is underway, and all the businesses have their Purple on). *Unlike some other small college-towns, Evanston has a big bustling city in Chicago right in its backyard. The heart of downtown is located just 12 miles south of Evanston, which can conveniently be reached by the 'El' (Purple Line), Metra (UP-N to OTC), Northwestern Shuttle (Intercampus to Northwestern Memorial Hospital or the Chicago Express to The Loop), by car, or even by bike (Chicago is extremely flat compared to California, and I'm loving it). *The food scene is much better in Chicago and the surrounding area than it is in the other cities that house the programs I got into (Philadelphia, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Gainesville, Boulder, St. Louis, and Houston), and if you look at my reviews, then you know I LOVE my food. Chicago is one of the only three cities in the US that has a Michelin Guide; it's the home of famous epicurean destinations of 'Alinea' and 'Next' (chef: Grant Aschatz), 'L2O' (chef: Laurent Gras), and Charlie Trotter's namesake. Combine this with famous Chicago fare of Deep Dish Pizza (you can find Lou Malnati's in downtown Evanston, or go out into the city for Pequods), Chicago Dogs (Hot Dougs in Chicago and Portillo's everywhere), Italian Beef (Al's Beef and Portillo's), and everything else! Before applying, I thought I had no chance of getting into my dream school for my PhD, but here I am today. If Kellogg is a good fit for you, just apply and see what happens!

It's a great school where people really respect one another, with very few negative students. Although people here are accomplished and high-achieving, the culture is surprisingly noncompetitive. OK, back to work so I can go out and enjoy the sun too!
