[[HIGHLIGHT]]The one star is for Angel and Daniel being courteous, if I could give zero stars otherwise, I would.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The noise levels here are ridiculous, walls are paper thin and the ceilings are so loud and squeaky, I hear the upstairs neighbors conversations, dogs, and music constantly. The teenager in the condo on the other side of the wall screams profanities at his video games all night long. There is a deep rumbling noise at around 75 dB every night that we brought up to management months ago but they can't address it. Our bathroom ceiling developed big water bubbles in the paint where there was a visible patch because upstairs had a leak in their toilet for so long that the subfloor almost rotted through. Maintenance had to tear apart our ceiling to fix everything...until there was another leak that flooded our bathroom floor as it was dripping not-clear liquid down the walls. I took a single bath in the tub and instead of draining, it started backing up black sewer water. We were told by the previous apartment manager we were next on the list to get a parking spot and we would get it at the start of June, but we never were given the spot and surprise, we're charged two months of parking and never even signed a contract for it. And now, "there is no waiting list." There is no street parking, we regularly have to walk 3 blocks to park. We have to keep our windows closed because even though the apartments might be smoke free, the people standing on the sidewalk for their daily 3 blunts compensate for that. Not to mention the burning smell from the electrical substation on Flora Vista. There are 2 dog-hair filled washers for 20 units that cost more than the local laundromat. The surrounding neighborhood would be a little bit nicer if the sidewalks weren't absolutely covered in dog poop. Management has asked if we want to move to a different unit but I can't imagine that changing units will resolve the millenia-old carpentry of the building. But hey, the paint is pretty and the refrigerator is new. read more

I lived there for a year, couldn't wait until lease ended. Aways had issues with the plumbing and roaches.... Yes, the maintenance worker was great but LAURA is a liar. She will smile in your face all the while she knows that she's lying. Make sure when you move out that you take everything that day otherwise, when you return things will be MISSING. I love how fast issues and problems can be solved here. First, Laura is amazing and always super helpful! She always goes out of her way to make sure everyone here is comfortable and she has gotten to know everyone in the building. She definitely looks out for everyone and it's rare you get that from landlords and leasing managers. She makes my stay here a lot more comfortable and it is appreciated. Been here almost a year now.. No complaints.. My apartment is nice; the grounds, laundry area, and courtyard are all clean and well-kept.. Other residents are friendly. The manager - Laura - is pleasant and, most important: available. She can be reached at all times and will work to take care of you... I have had very little need for the maintenance staff, but they responded QUICK the few times I did - including today: Came home to find a small plumbing issue and less than an hour after reporting it, Alex shows up at my door with his tools. I had issues installing a bidet on my toilet because the screws were very rusted and wouldn't come off so I put in a request for maintenance and Angel Tapia came and he had to do so much work to remove those screws, he had to saw them off and gave us a new toilet seat and also went beyond, he installed our bidet for us! he was so AWESOME & HELPFUL & INFORMATIVE! read more

Where do I begin. I moved into this apartment because I was pregnant and was looking for a bigger place and Northwind just seemed to be spacious enough for a family of 3. We get a 2 bedroom apartment and everything was great the first month. Slowly, living here became HELL. Let's start with the bathroom. My bathroom's roof begins leaking and slowly a bubble begins to build up. I ask maintenance to come in, but Rich says it's not an emergency therefore staff cannot come until they're back in for work (This was on a Friday afternoon.) I tell him there's water dripping from the roof and we can't even sit to use the toilet without getting wet. He tells us to put a bucket! (Genius!) Let's not forget the amount of times our bathtub filled up with the neighbors' shit. Northwind is pet-friendly!! They added artificial grass all over the complex for dogs to pee on. If you love the smell of dog pee and poop, make sure to come on a hot summer day. They're so pet-friendly that roaches come and visit your kitchen! I am such a clean freak and have never had any pests at any other home, so there is no way this was a matter of cleanliness on my behalf. Drunk staff, roaches, and dog piss is what you should expect when moving in. DON'T DO IT!! read more

Amazing property! New management goes above and beyond to make this residence a pleasure to live at. My wife and two children have lived here since 2017. We have seen the property go through some much needed changes. The street parking is non-existent, but the city provides a nearby parking structure the we have guests park at when visiting. We simply ride them there, and bring them back to their cars when they leave. The maintenance and groundskeeping is always extraordinary. This is important to us since it is a pet-friendly residence. We would, and HAVE recommended this property to friends and family, and those who have taken us up on our referrals are still residents and have had no major complaints. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE! This will be a lengthy review but trust me if your considering this place, please read in its entirety. So my husband and I will be moving out on the 31st after what has been the longest year ever. There has been multiple incidents at this apartment building and just yesterday there was another, MOLD, and I mean mold everywhere. Let's start from the beginning; Last January when we were looking for a place to rent we called this location multiple times due to what we saw in pictures, a really nice, newly upgraded 1 bedroom. Never received an answer. Voicemail is always full as well. We decided to just drive over to the leasing office to get a tour of the place, only to find 3 other families wanting to look at the same unit. The manager of the building told all of us to act fast and he means put in our application tonight. So we did just that and we got the place. 1st night: cops blocked off our entire street, I still to this day don't know what happened but it was bad enough to know that this is what it's like here. Oh we also got a parking ticket in the mail a couple weeks later for having our car pulled to the side while we unloaded and moved our things in. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO STREET PARKING. Oh and someone was parked in my spot. Our 1 bedroom came with 1 parking spot, so my husband has to park on the street and basically parked 5 blocks + away every night, we eventually were able to get a second parking spot for a extra $50 a month. Extremely noisy neighbors constantly had the cops called on them, there was a guy who got into an altercation with his girlfriend and walked down the street cussing and saying "fuck the police" etc. cops came and he was arguing with them and eventually there was helicopters flying over our building searching for him. There's another lady that lives upstairs and it's always loud, cussing, and just being plain obnoxious. Everyone seems to know her here. The apartment manager leaves notices on everyone's door at least twice a month reminding everyone of noise levels, not to park in other people's spots, and to not stand outside on the front steps smoking weed, and of course nobody listens. The walls are paper thin and I can literally hear my neighbor peeing, talking, taking a shower, anything. Sometimes it sounds like their actually in my unit. A few months in: our neighbors sink was leaking over the course of a weekend and did not notify maintenance so it got into my apartment and was coming through the floor in the kitchen and bathroom, we had to get all new floors in both and in the midst of them putting in our new floors they left all of our lights on with a huge fan to dry off the floor(and never paid for our electricity bill) and they also left my front door unlocked for hours after they were finished(all I got was an apology from the manager) I've also had 2 packages stolen from my front door right after they were delivered on separate occasions, contacted the manager and he said there is nothing he can do about it since there are no cameras. WHAT KIND OF APARTMENT BUILDING DOESNT HAVE CAMERAS OUTSIDE THE COMPLEX? I've also gotten my car towed from being parked in a fire lane(mind you, the fire lane is a huge painted off section in the parking lot right next to the building where everyone unloads their groceries, and when they move in. I was parked there for less than 15 minutes and my car was gone. That cost me $300 to get it out the same day. I understand this was my fault but why did it have to be me? People park here all the time and sometimes for hours and their car never gets towed. Now comes the worst part, there is mold in our bathroom and closet. We first noticed it last week and my husband just scrubbed it off the walls, this weekend it came back even worse, it's now all over our clothes and shoes and has a white lint look to it with green, on the walls it's black spots all over. We had to move our bed into the living room to sleep tonight to try and not inhale as much of it as possible. Our apartment manager is having maintenance scrub the walls with bleach tomorrow and I have contacted the local health department to have the mold inspected. The only thing I like about this place is the apartment manager does respond to you in a timely manner, goes by the book and tries to help when he can, I also like that your required to have renters insurance, thank god for that because we have a lot of damaged things now due to the mold especially my wedding dress. I think this complex needs to be throughly updated, inspected and have all the problems addressed and fixed instead of just covering up the problems. Tenants also need to be made accountable for their actions more, and they need a new maintenance team. People don't care about someone else's home and belongings like they would their own, but when you own and work for an apartment complex you need to have some care for other people. read more

If you love roach infest apartments with terrible rental staff, and loud partying neighbors? Northwind is the place for you. I've been here not even a month and I am already ready to break my lease. First of all let me talk about what a pain it was to get the actual apartment . I had emailed them originally six months or so ago asking if they had any one bedrooms available and was insistent that I wanted hardwood floors . Nothing was available at that time so I ended up renting month to month with Lakewood manor who is under the same bubble of AMC living . The apartment at Lakewood was carpet but due to a time constraint I said I would take it until a hardwood apartment became available . I reached out to Northwind at the end of May and was told a one bedroom WITH hardwood floors would become available June 20. I corresponded back and forth clarify multiple times it was hardwood. I placed the apartment on hold, had hired a moving team and bought a ticket for my mother to come into town since I am a college student living alone, I needed all the help I could get moving. Something felt weird so the day before I was suppose to get my mom from the airport and move in I called over to Northwind and asked if I could stop by and see the apartment. I get there and the lady lets me I to the unit and it's ALL carpet....ok.... And I'm suppose to move in tomortow . She unapologetically says "oh I though this one was hardwood, they are all suppose to have it". Obviously not. How hard would it have to been to simply walked over and checked the unit?! That is your job isn't it? This is false advertising since the pictures on the website and pamphlet show alllll the pictures having hardwood. Ok so I'm completely shocked n then she nonchalantly asks me if I still want it. After discussing it with my mother (aka co signer ) we decided we didn't want it because it defeated the whole purpose of moving in the first place. I was moving because I wanted hardwood floors!! A simple concept right? Well long story short, one was able July 3. I ended up moving in without any help . Whatever. When I get there to sign the lease the same lady asks me if I'm ready to "sign the papers". I'm like" uh no.... Can I at least inspect and see the place first ". She huffs at me and then reluctantly shows me the place . Okay when we get back I asked her if we need to do a walk through , and I am told I need to do that on my own time.... Are you lazy or what? Now to the other issues . I then try to turn my stove on.... No gas . How is there no gas when I just paid upwards of $2000. I am told I need to call the gas company, simple enough right? Wrong! The gas company is telling me I can't get gas for another TWO weeks . How the hell am I suppose to cook for two weeks without a stove ? If the gas needed to be turned on or transferred she should've told me that weeks ago knowing I was going to move in . You want your place moving in ready. Now In mid July I went to greece for a week. I come back to find two roaches , three spiders and some kind of huge mutant fly. I immediately email the same lady (yes I know her know I'm trying to spare her embarrassment) and she never replies . I call and leave a message telling her about the infestation and requesting fumigation. Haven't heard back. I even called another complex in AMC living with whom I've been working w due to this lady's lack of competence. Left multiple messages nothing.... It is now a WEEK later and I haven't heard back. I left again for a week to house sit and I come back and there's MORE ROACHES. I think we all know roaches multiply which is why you kill them QUICKLY. Not to mention someone completely messed up my sink. I cleaned thoroughly before I left so how they check do I have crap in my sink.... I suspect someone came in my unit ... Anyways. I can't even sleep in my own bed without feeling queemish since there's bugs everywhere. I even had my mother call from her number , because the lady/ landlord conveniently never picks up when she hears my number. So now I still have NO gas and am in a roach infested house and I've not even been here a month yet!!! If I don't hear back soon I am going to file for immediate departure and/or break my lease. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone . read more
