Stonybrook Apartments - even our little guy is loving the Bark Park! - Apartments Near Me - Anaheim, California

The community looks beautiful and it ends there. After living (surviving) here for almost a year, we couldn't wait for our lease agreement to end so we could move to another place. I will list everything wrong with this apartment one by one. 1: The walls are thin: So thin that I could hear the next door neighbor snore at night. During half of my time at Stonybrook, I went and slept on the couch in the living room. When told the manager, and showed her the video of my neighbor snoring at night, she said there is nothing they could do but to ask the neighbor to move their bed in their bedroom (which didn't make any difference). Also when I was in the living room i was able to clearly hear what my neighbors were talking about. Sadly, the neighbor on the other side had an autistic child. He would start crying from early morning until at night before he went to bed. On my days off, I couldn't stay at home and just hear him cry the entire day, so I would leave home and come back at night just so I could sleep in the living room. If you love your privacy, this place is not for you. 2: The "Ladies of the Night" Outside: Almost every night, specially on the weekend nights there are many halfnaked ladies hanging right outside the apartment looking for customers. 3: Too Many Bills: When we first checked the apartment, it was beautiful and the rent seemed fair. However, once we moved in, we found out there are too many hidden bills, which other managements pay it themselves. However, here the resident pays for every single service associated with this apartment which adds up an extra $300 on top of the rent. They also increased the rent 9 months after moving in. 4: Parking issues: They dont have enough parking for the residents, or the guests. If you have friends over, good luck finding parking outside. There are also neighbors who park their second vehicle inside the apartment, and wouldn't move them for months. 5: Their Math doesn't Math: I moved in on 4th or 5th day of the month, but i was given credit for only 1 day. Also when I left, I left a few days before the month ended, but they never returned the money for the days remaining, untill i had to email them and call them a few times. They also kept almost all of my security deposit, even though I throughly cleaned the apartment before leaving. I took pictures and videos of the apartment 2 minutes before leaving. Overall, I would never recommend living here, even if the rent was at 50% discount, mostly because of lack of privacy. read more

They'll tow you on the weekend without knocking on your door. It'll run you 600 bucks, and there's nothing you can do about it. Treat your residents right, and maybe you'll retain them. Aside from that, things were okay, but parking has always sucked. The unit across from me has been vacant for 4+ months now for a reason. If you have a bicycle, then move here, they can't tow it. read more

I am a returning resident to Stonybrook and I am overjoyed to see all the gorgeous and updated renovations to this AMC property. The grounds keeper is proud of his position because the way he keeps the entire facility looking impeccable! The rental process, the ease of completing my paperwork online or in person is appreciated along with paying my rent, my utilities through the resident portal and requesting maintenance service. All the staff both at Beechwood and Stonybrook have been helpful and accommodating with processing my application and immediately contacting Tony from facilities to repair a cabinet which separated from the frame after one of the recent earthquake is truly amazing! Elizabeth, Seth, and the rest of the office team have been wonderful with all my inquiries and requests. The contemporary clean touches to the my cottage unit are very complimentary to my paintings, prints , and furnishings that I feel as comfortable as a homeowner instead of feeling like a renter. I am happy to be making my unit feel like it will be my peaceful sanctuary after long busy day at work. I am also pleased to see that management's decisions to gate the entrance, install all the security measures and updated community amenities has created a sense of security and tranquility from the hustle and bustle from highway 39/Beach Blvd. I look forward to finishing my unpacking and be done with my moving so that I can begin anew with in my home community. I showed up at the Leasing Office with no appointment and Lara treated me very well, so much so that even though this was the first apartment I was viewing for my daughter, we are now moving on with executing a lease with Stonybrook. The setup was very quaint, like a little village and only 56 units. The tour showed me all I needed to see to know that my daughter and her husband would be happy here. All of the apartments are single story, all come with garage space, the community is gated, there is a nice resort-styled pool with grills, new laundry facilities, patio space. I was very impressed with the customer service of the leasing office and the quality of the apartments. This community is a gem. read more

After months of searching and touring for an apartment for my daughter, fortunately, I came across Stonybrook Apartment. It is a well kept, pet friendly and quite neighborhood. They offer a spacious floor plans and a cottage-style dwelling; Close proximity to groceries, store, pharmacies and restaurants. The apartment has stainless-steel appliances and custom cabinetry. Lara, the Leasing Consultant is very accommodating and does an excellent job in helping us with our initial application. Miriam, the Community Director is also very professional and very prompt in answering all our queries with regards to the process until the completion of our application. This is my updated review after we lived there for 1 year and moved out. After Terry and Oliver left, things went down hill at this place. - the wall is super thin!!! Like you can hear EVERYTHING! Conversations, Music, and more than you want to hear! We had really bad neighbors who would party all night which was super hard. Leasing office can't really do anything other than trying to "talk" to them. I think they got louder after we told leasing office about them. - the parking is super limited. If you have 2 cars and you live in 1 bedroom - good luck finding a parking spot. It's no joke. - tiny laundry unit - there is like only 4 washer and like 4 driers for the entire apartment complex!! And... it's only open like 8am - 10pm which means it's extremely hard to get your laundry done during weekend. Literally there's a line to get your laundry. How bad is that? - leasing office - they are not open all day - only open half of a day and random weekends. It's hard to get hold of them sometimes since their office hour is weird. - the area is sketchy... wish we had known before we signed the lease. You'll know what I mean if you go there at night.. or even during the day time.. No good. We are extremely happy that our lease ended and we are finally out. So happy! If you like loud noises at night, don't mind parking few blocks away, and don't mind not getting your laundry once a month, then go ahead!! read more

The site manager changed about 6 months ago and the new management (Erica and team) are terrible. They: 1) raised rent prices immediately even though we had been guaranteed by the previous manager that our rent was not going to go up for at least a year after our initial 8-month lease ended (and this was done during covid). 2) took months to repair the gate locks so that the complex was wide open to anyone day/night despite advertised "security". 3) neglected to tell residents that their mailboxes were broken into REPEATEDLY. When asked for a police report number/postal inspection case number (to give the insurance company), they told us they would get the information to us soon and never got back to us with anything, despite multiple follow-ups. 4) told everyone they were going to enforce 2-car/apartment parking limit and yet continue to allow some residents to have 4+ vehicles on property. 5) have told us repeatedly that we would be next on the list to get a reserved parking spot, but have since allowed new tenants to come and have the unassigned reserved spaces. 6) CONTINUE day by day to destroy the beautiful trees/nature that made this property so appealing for us. They have never once consulted with the residents on these matters, but have now cut down all of significant trees and replaced the natural grass/plants with AstroTurf and rocks. 7) do not clean the poolside chairs/tables or fix the public-use grills. 8) allow trash to build up around the property instead of maintaining the grounds. 9) are rude to the residents any time we have questions or concerns. They also have never posted their accurate office hours and are therefore impossible to get ahold of. 10) absolutely only care about the bottom-line. Etc, etc. I could really go own forever. All of these issues are a HUGE change from a year ago when Terry and Oliver were in charge of the property. More than half of the long-term tenants have left in the past year and things are going down-hill fast. They may promise you the moon when you come to view the place, but once you're here, they will not care about you or your concerns one bit. Beware. read more

I recently moved in to Stonybrook Apartments. It has been only 2 months, and I am extremely happy with the service of both William Soliman (Bill) and Oliver Duarte. Both have been extremely professional and have attended to all my queries and issues in a timely manner. I moved into one of the newly renovated apartments. The apartment is nice and have only had minor issues which Oliver has come over and fixed. Parking I can see for tenants is an issue if you have more than one car or guest parking is also tough. That's something that needs addressing. If you have one car then the assigned parking that comes with the parking is enough for you. The community is really nice, quiet and small. Everyone I have encountered has been really nice. That's my short review of the place, again I would like to thank Bill and Oliver for going above and beyond to making sure that our stay is a pleasant one. We appreciate you guys! read more

Can't begin to express how happy I am to finally be out of this complex. I had lived there for five years with my fiancé. At first it was pleasant. Very friendly neighbors. An overall nice complex. Until my neighbors gave us roaches. One manager didn't do a single thing after asking for treatments multiple times. Even when new neighbors moved in and had the same issues asking the same for treatment. It wasn't until she moved that the current manager took action. After 3 treatments, spending 190$ to put my cats up to have the place sprayed, the roaches remained. Too top it alllll off- my fiancé and I were blamed for the roach problem and tho we had lived there so long and payed our rent on time we were forced out. Honestly I'm happy to go. No one deserves that kind of stress in their own home. It's a major health issue to my self and my animals. Maintenance is nice but never gets what you request done in a timely function. My fiancé and I now moved to the Rancho Vista Apartment Homes and couldn't be happier. If you want to find a great new complex Rancho Vista is where to go! Stonybrook Sucks! read more

I and my fiance had applied for residency at stonybrook apartments in Anaheim, ca we was issued a acceptance letter and welcomed as residents in the stonybrrook apartment family. We was given a move in date and was truly excited for this opportunity. That next day we went and purchased new furniture and appliances to be delivered on the date given to us by the complex manager TERRY TEEL. After all this we was told by Terry that we was not going to be moving in due to some background check issues, this was in fact a lie, in the past 2 weeks the company TERRY stated that did the background check in which he stated I did not pass had conducted 3 background checks on me and 2 was cleared and one still pending for a employment opportunity and never was requested to run a background check on me by the company that was stated by Terry himself. MR TEEL was caught in several lies and this was brought to his attention, beware in dealing with MR.TEEL and the company he works for, we are suing him and anyone with a similar experience as I and my fiance should do the same. read more

I've been living here for 3 years! They have said numerous times they will fix the parking situation but somehow not even adding 6 new parking spaces helped. I'm annoyed and frustrated to have to come home from a long day at work and either have to park 10 minuets away to get home because I have to park at residential houses in the area. Why? Because there is no parking! Or either park at a red crub just to get home as soon as possible because I am a young women and walking home at night doesn't seem such a good idea. Also they installed a gate in order to make it safer but the gate is always open! So what is the point?! I have came home numerous times at night to find homeless people inside the complex as well as inside the laundry room which is also always open throughout the night. However they are lovely apartments, which is why I give it 2 stars. read more

Five stars for Oliver, he truly holds Stonybrook together for us and we cant even count how many times we see him working hard all over the complex. He gives 200% everytime he helps us and we often stop him to ask questions or for assistance in our apartment and he never says no, always drops everything to help even at his busiest. Oliver always goes out of his way to make sure he can do everything in his power to make us happy. We appreciate him so much and definitely feel better living at Stonybrook knowing he's here. Honestly if it wasnt for him, I wouldnt give 5 stars as parking issues and some unruly neighbors have been awful to deal with to no end. But Oliver's commitment and dedication to keep the community clean and in working order always puts a smile on our face at the end of the day! read more

My husband and I came to see these apartments and Bill helped us out. I cannot say enough great things about Bill. He was very helpful and very thorough answering any questions we had. We ended up moving in to Stonybrook and so far we love it here. The only downside I can think of is the parking. When you have visitors there isn't much parking. And parking spaces are limited as well. What we loved about Stonybrook is how beautiful they looked on the outside and the inside. They are renovated. Big size patio. And I love that they are pet friendly. The pool area also has very nice new grills and tables and chairs. They look more like little cottages. The property is very well maintained the walkways are very clean it's one of the things I noticed right away when I came to look at the apartments. Most of the people here have dogs and even then it is very quiet and peaceful. read more

I'm giving this place a 5 star review ONLY because I've lived here for 7 years and been through plenty of managers but the newest manager Bill, doesn't fulfill his duties as a manager. He's only there once maybe twice a week if you're lucky. The hours are from 2:00 to 6:00 he's usually here by 3 and leaves 5:30. There have been many times I had to inform people waiting at the office or they question where he is at or if he's been there today. Some people say they came the day before and same thing. He just wasn't there. Stonybrook has been my home since childhood, I'm 18 now. The past year things have been getting renovated and that's great you know everyone loves an upgrade, but for Bill to refuse every tenant that asked to renew their leases is sad. Giving more than 6 families that live in an old apartment a 60 day notice to move out and when asked if they can renew be refused. Very disappointed in how Stonybrook turned out over the years, but all in all I made the best memories here! read more

Been here almost 6 yrs and I must say that I really enjoy living here the only problem that we have here is the parking ! Parking is hectic ! And now you got people that have no concerns for people that are handicap and they are parking their vehicles on the handicap parking spaces ! Manager is aware of the problem but says that she's to busy running 2 apartment complex to walk or take care of the problem! Even if they do it in front of her face she will not adress the issue ! We moved here in December of 2014 and so far we love it here. The few maintenance issues we have had were taken care of within a timely manner and the maintenance team have always followed up to assure the issues were solved. The grounds are well taken care of and the pool area is always clean. The management has been friendly and polite to us and have shown genuine concern for needs/issues. Moved here in November of 2014 and I love it here. The staff is professional and courteous I don't have one complaint. The apartments are well maintained and clean. And the maintenance man is very helpful and nice. Plus the rent is not outrageous like some surrounding apartments. I will say they could work on parking.
