    Smokehouse Smothered Tots-Yum!!

If you are looking for a great atmosphere, tasty food, and a wide variety of beer this is your place! We have visited a few times while in the area and each time we try something different on the menu. During our last visit our group tried the Smokehouse Smothered Tots, Stuffed Portabella and the BellyBuster! All were fantastic and flavorful!! The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable about their beer and the brewing process! We always enjoy taste testing and listening to them share their knowledge and stories. Thank you for the great visits! *We visit during lunchtime hours, during the week, and dine at the bar.

Big deck, cold beers and great service!

We stopped in our way through Wisconsin for gas and lunch, and found the Northwoods Brew Pub in Osseo. We ordered a couple of microbrews and a pizza. Beer was cold, the pizza was tasty and fresh and the service was great!

Wow! The food was amazing! We both got a Stout burger and everything about it was perfect, from the croissant bun to the hot and delicious BBQ sauce. They even nailed the medium rare. The fries were great but my date had the hand cut potato chips and they were fantastic. The buying at the bar service was a bit slow and I love beer, but I did not love their beer. Peanut butter Stout was weird, some were sour and it seemed that in their desperation to be different the beers were just a little too odd. After trying 8 different beers we settled on Red Cedar Red Ale. We'll come again even if only for the food.

    From parking lot.

Not the best service we've had here. They were busy but 45 minutes to get our food?? You have to order at the bar and the waitresses bring it to you. They look for your number but walk around aimlessly. The pulled chicken was good the baked fish not Not my favorite visit today. They were busy and not enough bartenders as usual. The manager noticed this AND WALKED AWAY! Will not returning anytime soon. Too bad. Nice place but their customer service is very lacking.

Awesome bar lots of tap beers!

Not muck offered for those who don't eat meat. The sides and the kids menu did the job. Great pub!!!

The food is served with to-go containers and plastic cutlery. This really detracts from the meal and prevents us from going there.

A few little yard arts, chairs, and plants...very welcoming! The B&B is on the left and the tap room is on the right, the garage, where the covered patio is. Co-owner Brenda was behind the bar. They had a good tap list, not overwhelming but enough to quench any palate. There was also a good list of guest taps, all Inbound. When Brenda mentioned she could pour me an "air" I responded... oh Lucid Air! That's one I hadn't heard in a minute! The tap room is very cozy and w Brenda also being a travel agent there is travel destination suggestions on the tap list. Mid visit the Brewer/co-owner, Ford came behind the bar. There was a decent selection of vinyl....not sure if they have a record player or it's just fun "decoration"? My friend gave me the explanation of the names on the shelving behind her. Again....fer cute!! I won't divulge it, go on & ask for yourself, I think it'd be funner hearing it in person from an owner! One friend opted for an Inbound beer. After having Brenda pour me a taste of Chubby Chipmonk Pale Wheat, which was good but better than a standard wheat beer since it's a Pale Wheat, so if you're looking for a muted beer, this isn't it, so go on and taste it. I asked my other friend f I could have a sip of his Bicycle Brown? There it is....that's what my palate is looking for! I opted for a pint of Bicycle Brown Ale... it hit the mark....as I still had a couple hour drive in front of me to the cities. Thanks Hoppy Girl for the delicious beer in such a comfortable & welcoming environment served up by a couple of pretty wonderful owners, cheers!

I love visiting breweries and trying out local offerings. Lazy Monk was on my list of places to visit based on just the name alone, but their current beer list was looking pretty good, too. Tim and I (Matt was coming up the next day) dropped in around early dinner time and it was fairly quiet in the brewery. There were a few people chatting with the bartender when we went up to order some drinks. First and foremost, I grabbed a sticker and magnet before I would inevitably forget. I grabbed a flight of beers since a lot of them sounded really good. Unfortunately, the one beer I was really hyped to try was out until the next day. That was the kolsch. I ended up getting the Bohemian Pilsner Lager, Raspberry Lemon Shandy, Kristall Weiss, Mad Monk IPA, and Bohemian Dark Lager. The Mad Monk was really good. It was my favorite. The Kristall and Bohemian Pilsner Lager were really good, too. The Raspberry Lemon was good but not really my cup of beer. I got it to sample since I was taking home a 4-pack for Emily. As for the Dark Lager... not a fan at all. Not that it was gross but it just isn't for me. The bartender was super cool and took the time to explain all the beers I ordered, made great small talk and really made us feel welcome. Lazy Monk really leans into the German/Bohemian aspect. The exterior of the building has some strong German vibes and once you walk inside, it really feels like you walked into a bar in the middle of a small German town. I believe there is also an outdoor seating area but we only saw it while we were out walking around. They have a Mug club for regulars. Always great service from personable bartenders. They really know the regulars. Occasionally you'll catch the owner slinging beer too. Service was fantastic the whole time. We were never left wanting for anything, and drinks and food came out at a perfect pace. We started off with drinks and the dill cheese curds appetizer. I was very happy that they had four ciders available, and I went with the pear choice, which turned out to be Magner's. The curds were fantastic, with loads of dill in the crisp breading. The curds had a perfect pull and squeak. My kid had the fettucine alfredo and rated it as "very good." (He also enjoyed the leftovers the next day). My husband had the smothered ribeye sandwich and requested no mushrooms. He had fries on the side. He said this is one of the best ribeye sandwiches he's ever had. I had the fish tacos, and wow, they were delicious. It included two tacos, and each one had two massive, very hot fish nuggets. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. I had my choice of side and went with coleslaw, which was good. Note that this is a brewery, but they had none of their beers available during our visit because they had just transferred to new ownership. Yelp only shows that it's open for dinner, but that is not the case. For lunch I had the pulled chicken sandwich with macaroni and cheese and grilled vegetables. The sandwich was delightful. The bread was excellent though I only ate half to cut down on carbs. The chicken was good, just be aware if you're super picky it is a mix of light and dark meat, but the accompanying barbecue sauces, regular, sweet, and spicy, are all really good. I had a hard time deciding which one to use so I just made a few different pools and alternated my dipping. The grilled vegetables were fine, but I thought the macaroni and cheese was really good. It was not gooey or super creamy. it was just macaroni with cheese. I don't know if that makes sense or does it justice because it was delicious, but it wasn't super heavy, thick, or greasy. I really liked it a lot. Now it appears the place is more famous for being a brewpub and I did not sample anything so I can't speak to that. However, the bar area was nice and the dining area was very clean. I did speak to the owner a little bit before I left and he was a really nice guy.
