This hospital saved my life, yes, you can say the same for many others but here the nurses and the doctors went above and beyond what they had to do and took extremely well care of me, always checking in and making sure i was ok/felt ok, though i didn't feel ok, they still checked and gave positive vibes(i felt bad for constantly having them check up on me especially because they were so busy, they deserve everything in the world for having so much care for their patients and being extremely intelligent as they would explain to me in comforting detail why i needed this or that medically - they put in so so much work please don't overlook how hard they work!). i was driven-in the emergency walk-in entrance by my mother and was in the fetal position because i was so sick from (in short) an abysmal experience in tijuana where i went into sepsis and other bad happenings and felt the worst i ever felt in my life, it became clear that the staff in Tijuana was not equipped with the great abilities nor extensive knowledge that these nurses and doctors have - when exiting the car i could not even move i managed to barely crawl into the wheel chair with the nice help of the security guards (again extremely nice staff because they didn't have to help) -this was from a visit 7 months ago i forgot to post but i left a similar review on google as well that goes more into depth. i hope this helps bump up the ratings because the quality of care was incredible, id recommend it to anyone ive never had a bad experience here. **i feel like a lot of the bad ratings need to take into account how busy the ER can get and put themselves in the nurses and doctors shoes. a little PSA to please remember be more kind and patient to healthcare workers!! x ‍ read more

That type of care of a patient was very nice and quality of the very nice nurses very helpful and always trying to be professional and always kind and very good quality and very nice and I appreciate this help. It was my first time coming to your hospital from the Behavioral Health unit, I got transferred by an ambulance. The ambulance people were very nice and they took good care of me. They put a catheter. It's OK. I suffer the pain for maybe a couple days and I was able to control it and I went back home and I still appreciate the job all the nurses do in this hospital thank you ER nurses and thank you Doctor from the ER. You did a great job. Thank you for helping me. I hope I can have you again when I go back for the next round and I appreciate it. This is a joke of a hospital. Truly. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and just drive to a different hospital. The quality of care is atrocious. My 97 year old grandma was admitted on 11/27/2025 for a wound on her foot and they did not change her bandage of dressing AT ALL and discharged her back to her nursing home on 11/03/2025 with the same dressing!! Please note the dressing she had on was put on by the nursing home RN. The nurse on shift refused to read the notes to let me know what caused my grandma's leg to bleed like that. If that was her own mother she would want answers. You can tell they are there for their paycheck. No compassion for the patients at all. My grandma had feces all up her back because they did not change her. The CNA had no help. I put on gloves, stepped in and helped him. The need to bulldoze this hospital down to the ground and revamp their whole management. As a hospital you demand the respect you get and Norwalk community hospital DOES NOT CARE. 0/10. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. The front desk ladies were nice, security is helpful and respectful. But the RNs and CNAs need to go. Cause who are y'all hiring. read more

Addendum to my previous review of Norwalk Community Hospital: After now four (4) days of being hospitalized at Norwalk Community, I just experienced disrespectful, condescending, admonishing 'motor-mouthed' behavior from a woman (nurse?) named "Deanna" (not sure of the correct spelling of her name." How rude she was! She came into my shared room and yelled at me, lying about my behavior behind a curtain while other nurses were assisting me. Absolutely NO ONE has spoken to me in such a derogatory, disparaging manner while I've been here undergoing treatment and diagnostic evaluation. Note: I saw her earlier when she came into the room earlier today and rolled her eyes toward another outside the room door. She, in my opinion, needs find another job; she sucks at this one. Thank you to the doctor that helped me today. This man was very patient and he was able to explain that I wasn't having a heart attack and it was just a panic attack. I would still be in full panic right now if it wasn't for his reassurance and willingness to help. Much respect to that gentleman. But I can't find one good thing to say about his staff and nurses. I literally overheard a few them mocking me when I asked how long it would take to be seen because I was feeling like I was going to pass out. They were laughing and cracking jokes while I was sitting in the waiting room by myself, reading these same terrible reviews, and thinking how im on the verge of a stroke and the people I should be trusting are behaving like little kids. I got to the emergency room on Thursday and they treat me really well, got admitted and the nurses there were amazing but I have to mention SAM my main nurse ong he is amazing very caring and took really well care of me. As someone who comes from a healthcare family and has worked in healthcare before changing careers it pains me to even write a review on this hospital. Granted my fiancé says the service was good hence why the 2 star review and he gave me permission to post my review because he doesn't have any experience in the healthcare industry. The reason why it's a low review in my end is as followed. My fiancé was recently sent here due to a low blood sugar. He has Kaiser insurance but since they were full In the Kaiser hospital he had to stay in Norwalk. I didn't mind because it was an emergency. I gave verbal consent for them to work on him, but I am starting to regret it. Besides the awesome social worker I talked to, it started with one of the nurses that talked to me. I provided the emts his backpack filled with all his meds, but the nurse told me she counted them but never gave them to him. I questioned this but because it was an emergency followed by they probably have their own rules that Kaiser doesn't have I brushed it off. He ended up signing an AMA and when I came to pick him up I witnessed security being on the phone all the time and only made me go through the machine but didn't even bother looking through my bag! Do you have any idea how dangerous that could be for staff and patients!? what if someone brought a weapon in!? They didn't even give him discharge papers when we left! They literally walked in saw me helping him out with his clothes and left. No word or anything! When we got home he had a high blood sugar which told me his blood sugars weren't being monitored at all. From what he told me they didn't give him insulin even when his levels started to be in a good spot and when he was eating there. What if he got into DKA!? Honestly if you have an emergency go somewhere else tell them not to come to the Norwalk hospitals for your safety and for your health. read more

I wish I could say something good about this place, as I got the feeling that some of the staff, especially the younger staff, really wanted to be of assistance to their patients. However, the way things are run here, there is almost no chance for the nursing staff to truly be of support to the patients. Some of them are, clearly, as overwhelmed as those of us who tried to advocate for our loved ones while in the dubious care of this facility. After their discharge, which was pretty botched, I have specifically requested of the rest of my loved one's care team that they never be brought here again. I much prefer to give positive reviews, but I just cannot, in good conscience, do so in this case. My wishes for any staff here who really want to help patients: you will never be able to fulfill your hopes here. You will do better to take your talents and energy elsewhere. This place should probably be razed and be started anew. I do not say this easily, and it makes me so sad to say so, but I must be honest. Because this place is right down the road from Metro State and a State Correctional Facility, I truly think that the staff is used to not having to be accountable to family members. They barely talk to the patients, and the doctors (did not meet one here whom I'd trust for a minute) talk over the patients, talk over the nurses, and completely disregard anyone else's input, even as an older family member who has the accurate medical information for the patient. Both doctors we encountered would ask questions, answer them themselves, then sweep away. In one case, a doctor who was supposed to "be right back," apparently left the building without notice and turned his phone off. Even as the person who arrived soon after the ambulance carrying my loved one, I had to remind staff, again and again, that I was the nearest relative, and that I was carrying valuable medical and legal information about my loved one, who was often incoherent, due to multiple illnesses. My relative had included my name on the intake paperwork, but, every single day that I visited them there, I had to prove again and again that I was eligible to get updates. It literally was adding insult to injuries (those of my loved one). One day, I would get (I thought) all of the intake information, my access information, etc. corrected, but then I would arrive the next day and face the same complete confusion with staff. It was exhausting. And, here's a tip for the Sheriff's Department who dispatches the deputies who are "security" (?) here: your squadron of "LA's finest," spend most of their time on their phones in the hallway between the wards. Boy, how I wish I had THAT job, sit on my phone all day and get paid that much for it!!! Overall, this entire facility needs a serious shake up. I am sorry for those who have no choice but to come here, and I hope that my own loved ones will never again have to do so. read more

I went to this hospital because it is very close to my house. The reason why I am giving this a 3-star review is because of Jose in triage and the security guards, they are great. I have mental illness, especially OCD, major depressive disorder, GAD, PTSD, and the funny part is that I get panic attacks. The pharmacy had shorted me the month before, and I don't know how many times they have shorted me before. Yes, the pharmacy I am talking about is Walgreens on Greenleaf in Whittier. They said my medicine was going to be ready, next they said it wasn't, it was back and forth, back and forth. And not until you have mental illness, do you realize it is important to have your medication. I had been suffering from multiple panic attacks and was soaked in a cold sweat, and very shaky, triggered by Walgreen's shenanigans, and a very rude pharmacist. My OWN DOCTOR called me that same day, on his day off, no less! I've never had it happen before. I am proud to say, at age 63, I have a very clean record, I don't drink, don't smoke, nor do any painkillers. Jose in triage and the security people were the only bright spots in this hospital on that day. The doctor wouldn't even give me anything, not even one pill, for my panic attacks, and he saw me in a cold sweat and shaking. All I know is that the doctor was a big guy white hair. I will never go to this hospital again. If any of you go, please hope that Jose is the one who will triage you, and you don't get the white-haired doctor. read more

I don't know who's worse. Here or LA County hospital. I had a relative come in to the ER for an assessment for behavioral needs and they sat in hard plastic chair for over 14+ hours. Didn't even have the decency to give them a bed to relax or rest. This was very degrading for this person who needed special help. No one should be subjected to that. By far the worst hospital experience i have had. Dr. Ali was my doctor this visit and spoke to me in a very rude tone. She did not try and see what was wrong with me instead she questioned me for why i would go to the ER and what i was expecting her to do for me. She stated that i should know what is wrong with me she was trying to correct me in everything i told her i felt. The situation escalated to me telling her in a very respectful way that she was very rude and i did not appreciate her tone of voice. She stated that she was not threatening me so why did i have an issue. At that moment i got up and left without even being seen. I Had hernia surgery here. Lourdes and Bobby along with the whole OR team made me very comfortable. My experience was safe , and calming because of the people working there. Honestly just despicable, the doctors name which is dr Braydon skeoch is a piss poor miserable excuse for a doctor, I went there a couple months ago because I had weakness and pain which led up to be pneumonia when I went to another ER, to make a clear statement he drug tested me without my knowledge was extremely rude and condescending to me cursing at me and yelling at me calling me a nasty druggie then proceeded to show me a false drug test and told me I had fentanyl in my system, not only was I livid but my rights were violated because I never had fentanyl in my system at all. The other ER I went to informed me that I have a potential lawsuit due to my hipaa rights being violated so if I were doctor Brayden Skeoch I would be aware you will have a trial and possibly have your medical license revoked, medical malpractice right here everyone. read more

This hospital is only good because of Giovanni (Gio) Eduarte and Lourdes Francisca. They were my mom's pre-op nurses. They were very professional, welcoming, kind, sweet and humble. My mother was schedule for a surgery here with Dr. Morales, who also was a great Dr. as well. They all made sure she was comfortable and relaxed and calm. They were very communicative, caring and made sure she was thoroughly prepped for her surgery. They were even welcoming to me as well as her visitor. They answered all our questions and even made us laugh. They were top tier when it comes to comforting their patients. They really took the time to know us and care for us in the short amount of time we were there. As far as for post-op nurses. WOW is all I can say to described them. They gave very poor service. They didn't acknowledge my mom or ask how she was feeling or how her pain levels were. They ignored her multiple times. Even when requesting a simple extra blanket for her because she was extremely cold after surgery. They were rude and had a lot of attitude. They felt bothered for anything she and the patient next her asked for. My mom's has high blood pressure. She was complaining of a headache, so the nurse assistant checked her blood pressure and it was sky high! They had to check it twice because of how high it was. The nurse assistant informed my mom's nurse (Glace) that her blood pressure was high in which she was suppose to come in and check on her and give her her blood pressure medication, did she rush to come check on her? NO. She took her time!!! It took her a total of 50 minutes to come give my mom her medication!!!! The nurse assistant had to go look for her twice!!! My mom could have had a damn heart attack!!! It doesn't stop there, my mom had a catheter and it was removed by the post-op nurse can't remember her name. But she took out the catheter but left gauze inside which she was supposed to completely removed!!! After my mom was discharged and home she felt the gauze hanging and immediately called Dr. Morales who then called the hospital and complained of how negligent they were for not removing it. Her incision could have gotten infected. The nurse then called my mom and told her it was a "misunderstanding" really?! She couldn't even own up to her mistake!!! This hospitals after care nurses showed poor service and negligent care!! They showed ZERO compassion for the patients. How is it that you can work in a field where you are supposed to be nurturing and caring and attentive to patients in need and recovering. How can you treat people like complete sh*t. Especially helpless people. You went into that field knowing what the job consisted of!!! At least act like you give a damn. Post-op nurses there need to DO BETTER, need be BETTER!! Thank you again Gio and Lourdes!!! We love you!! You are the BEST keep on with the good work!!!! At least the hospital has you guys!!!!! read more

I'm currently a patient at Norwalk Community Hospital I would like to thank Sam my nurse in particular for his quality of care his compassion not just to myself but to other patients. He's made my stay at this Hospital better he loves what he does and he's always in such a good mood and very attentive to his patients all of them. I would ask for Sam as a nurse if you have a loved one here or are ever admitted. He's truly one of the best nurses to take care of you. You'll be in good hands with him, I would also like to thank the CNA's Lupita day shift , Sam at the night shift and Manuel day shift they are attentive and treat everyone with respect and make you feel better meanwhile you are at your worst. I'm still admitted here I make sure to take a look around me and see who is doing their best I wanted to take the time out of the day in my bed and say this. Sam is my nurse today and I'm actually really glad he's my nurse today because I was feeling down and have been ill weak and in pain but every time he's my nurse I know I'll be in good hands. It is with a heavy heart that I feel compelled to share the devastating experience my family endured at Norwalk Community Hospital. Writing this is painful, but I cannot remain silent, knowing others might unknowingly subject their loved ones to the same nightmare. When my mother arrived at Norwalk Community Hospital, she was a relatively healthy woman--strong, vibrant, and full of life. Yet, under their care, she suffered in ways I could never have imagined. What began as hope for her recovery turned into a series of events that left her clinging to life in a wound care hospital, broken in both body and spirit. One of the most horrifying moments was discovering a severe bedsore--a wound so shocking and advanced that it required her immediate transfer to Long Beach Memorial Hospital. This was not something she arrived with. It developed entirely due to the neglect she endured during her stay. My family and I were left grappling with decisions we should never have had to face, in an environment that felt callous and indifferent. My mother was left alone in her room, suffering, while staff laughed and joked outside her door. This lack of compassion was gut-wrenching. It is unbearable to admit that my mother, a woman who gave so much of herself to others throughout her life, was treated with less care and dignity than many would afford a stranger. Her condition deteriorated rapidly. She went blind. Her lips cracked and bled from dehydration. Her food tray sat at the foot of her bed, untouched, as she lacked the ability to see or even move to reach it. She lay there, helpless and forgotten, as if her life no longer held value. It was beyond cruel--it was inhumane. That same night, out of sheer desperation, we made the decision to transfer her elsewhere. The receiving hospital Long Beach Memorial Hospital was horrified by the state she was in. The bedsore, untreated and festering, required immediate intervention. She endured five surgeries, and the 5 th surgery , that was her last she was put on life support and after 30 days she passed away June 14 th 2023. I am haunted by the memories of her suffering and by the knowledge that so much of it could have been prevented. What pains me most is that this was supposed to be a place of healing and support. Instead, it became a place of neglect and unimaginable anguish. Two days after my mother's transfer, to Long Beach Memorial Hospital the director of care resigned. While this may offer a glimmer of hope for change, it does little to erase the trauma my family has endured or the irreversible damage done to my mother. I urge anyone reading this to think twice before placing their loved ones in the care of Norwalk Community Hospital. The suffering my mother endured must not be repeated. No one deserves the treatment she received. Please, for the sake of your loved ones, seek a facility that prioritizes compassion, dignity, and true care. I just spent 5 days in this hospital starting from the emergency room then being admitted. I'm 63 and the 1st time I've been hospitalized. It was very busy but I cannot say enough about how well the staff treated me and my family. Even the security guard was so helpful to all of us at the emergency. I would like to really highlight one of the RN's after I was admitted. His name is Sam. Sam treated me like I was his family member. Always friendly and talkative. Answered all my questions and never gave me an attitude. We talked about some business subjects as well as my medical condition. My wife and kids were so impressed and mentioned that I really got lucky picking this hospital with workers like Sam. I cannot say enough about Sam and the whole staff. Thank you Sam from my family and myself for your dedication to making my stay so much easier. read more

The hospital is not the biggest or probably the most high tech but it makes up for it with its amazing team. If you are looking for a snazzy hospital...this isn't it. However, you will be met with competent health specialists who's main goal is to care for your loved one...which is ultimately what you want coming to a hospital anyway! Emergency Room check in was easy and the security/nurses on staff for responsive to any questions I had during my moms arrival. Waiting room is small in the emergency room but I waited in the parking lot and the nurses were nice enough to come to me and give me updates until my mom got admitted to a room. Once admitted to a room, the nurses are constantly on rotation so you get to meet most of the team. My mom has had great nurses who have been diligent with her food restrictions and making her feel comfortable. However, the standout was definitely Nurse Sam B. He was incredibly nice and hands on, called me with updates repeatedly, and we appreciated his passion towards providing the best care for his patients. My mom also has had several doctors throughout her visit-one being Dr. Pascual. He was very nice and kept me informed of my moms condition and care plans. Visitation protocols are great. They check for temp, vaccination, and do regular sign ins and outs to make sure no exposure comes in or out of the hospital-which is incredibly appreciated during these times! While rooms might be small and limited, nights might be kinda noisy since the hospital in general is small, it's the medical staff like Nurse Sam B that proves this hospital works hard for their patients! BEST HOSPITAL IN CALIFORNIA I've been jumping hospital to hospital this past week and a half ( I have ulcers and gastritis ) and all the hospitals I went to didn't do jack, I live in the San Fernando valley I went to northridge and holy cross hospital but both just prescribed me medication I was already taking that clearly didn't work and just sent me on my way I waited hours in the ER and it just felt like a waste of time. Finally I came to Norwalk Community Hospital because a friend referred it and they weren't wrong at all. If you want a personal and a at home experience at a hospital which is very rare , come to Norwalk community hospital. It may not be big nor as fancy as the others but it surely makes you feel at home and welcomed and they treat you like family .the staff at those type of big hospitals are just there for the pay and have crappy attitudes and always treat you like crap. Norwalk truly changed my experience with hospitals and even tho I came because I wasn't feeling well they always know how to cheer you up or tend to you. Big thanks to all the staff I can't remember all the names but for the ones I do thank you so much to Sam B - RN ,, Maricela - RN ,, Genevieve- RN ,, George from X- RAY AND Doctors Arene and Chadha again I can't remember all the names but everyone is just amazing n it's like one big family . If I ever get the choice to choose any hospital to go to in the future I'd choose Norwalk community hospital every time. This is a hospital the city should invest in. Don't pay attention to the bad reviews because I can't tell you how many rude crazy people these staff have to put up with on the every day bases . My stay was 6 days long but they made it feel short and at home . I wish this hospital was out in the valley for I'd feel better knowing if anything went wrong I can just come here in a jiffy even if I can't I surely will make the effort because nothing beats this hospital, truly . Well I must say I'm extremely impressed with this little hospital :) Prior to my sister being hospitalized there a week ago I NEVER HEARD OF NCH !! From the ER room nurse Terri " SHE IS GREAT" to the cleaning lady and everyone in between this is a HIDDEN GEM give them a chance .... I read the reviews prior to posting my own and I get it, when you are in pain or stressed out sometimes you may jump the gun but I say give them a chance and treat the folks there the way you want to be treated AND you just might see a group of compassionate individuals doing what they do best. I will say there is a slight difference between ER late nite/early morning 2am security-not terribly professional ( wearing slides, drinking 2liter soda and eating junk food at the front desk. This place is HORRIBLE, it shouldn't even be considered a hospital. My father has been in that place for 2 weeks, and all the "doctors" would tell us is he have to wait until he is stable, which he has been for over a week and still they won't sign the transfer papers to get him to his rehab center and his dialysis center. Myself and my family have been trying to talk to anyone that has some knowledge of what the situation is, but nobody is around or will return messages.. TERRIBLE MEDICAL CARE. read more

Chimere M review is very accurate for this place. Also for safety reasons after hours security guard closes off entrance and no cars are allowed in, two guards are on duty. My mom's stay here went good. She said they "babied" her. (She enjoyed that). With place like this you have to be involved, ask questions. Remember nurses are not mind readers and if you began with politeness you most of time will get it in return. read more

I will like to take the time to say how Grateful I I'm for going to this hospital.On Thursday night I had an emergency and I went to a near by hospital in Downey the wait was going to be long plus the system were down I left because I was in pain I google near by hospital Thank God I saw Norwalk Community Hospital .They took me in right away and treated me with respect I was admitted and stood there for evaluation and test I met a phenomenal human being Name SAM !!! He is the best Nurse I have ever met treated me with Respect and care .I wish I had the words to describe the care and the love for his profession. As a professional Instructor with individuals with Disabilities I always say How beautiful it feels when you meet someone that cares As I do for my Clients .Today I felt Blessed that no matter my medical condition that I was in I knew I was in good hands .This is why I'm taking the time to share this review about this Hospital and specifically about Mr.SAM !!
