The daytime staff does the best they can within the parameters that are offered. This is HARD work, and unfortunately, the many of the staff are not mental health professionals. That being said, the Director of Social Services and the social worker assigned to my family member have handled them with as much dignity and understanding as they possibly can. My family member is a difficult patient, to say the least. The Directors of Nursing, Dietary and Activities have all been responsive and understanding when issues have arisen. All members of the patient care team meet with the family on a regular basis, review the patient care plan, listen to concerns & suggestions and are willing to adapt as necessary. This SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) is like so many, they are understaffed and underfunded. But in my opinion, again, they are doing the best they can with what and who they have to work with. Could the facility use a fresh coat of paint and some updating...of course. Again, what facility doesn't, but when I've visited, which is several times a week, the place is kept up as best they can. Their maintenance staff is always in sight and working. Their reception folks are always pleasant and friendly. This is HARD work. The mentally ill can be verbally and physically abusive, they can be unreasonable and/or have disruptive behaviors. This group of medical professionals do the best they can. Are they perfect? No. But then neither is my loved one. As with any long term placement, patience, grace and the understanding that the family has a responsibility to their loved one to remain involved in their care is paramount. This isn't the ideal placement for a mentally ill individual, but for now it seems to be working for my family member.

My brother contracted covid and went here because he was having difficulties breathing, they waited 3 hours to get in, the visit was for 15 minutes, no chest xray, $600 bill, just criticized for not being vaccinated and sent home. Dr. told him that the only thing that will help him is the vaccination. 3 days later( today) he's back at a different hospital and found out he has pneumonia. How does this doctor still have a job anywhere?? Be careful going here especially with this doctor as soon as I get his name I will post it!!!!

If I ever had a concern or issue, the front office staff (Denise Ortega) and Debra (social worker) were very responsive and helpful; I have so much appreciation for them! The nurses tended to him on a regular basis by changing his sheets and cleaning his room, giving him sponge baths, changing his diapers, and changing his clothes that I left hanging in his closet. The nurses who had a positive impact on my father were Molina, Monse, Cristina, and a male nurse from Jordan who trimmed my dad's beard. When my dad was discharged, he missed them all so much! The nursing staff gave him medicine on time and Dr. Sharma did a good job of monitoring his symptoms and labs. My dad loves food and not once did he complain about their food, so that was telling for me! The cafeteria staff were always friendly. The physical and occupational therapists were friendly, supportive, and positive with my father; thank you, Claire, Araceli, and Carlos! They were very helpful to him gaining some of his strength back. They had a kitchen, bathroom, and a car in their PT/OT space that allowed my father to practice doing certain things when he returned home.

My father suffers from dementia/confusion following surgery and is considered a high fall risk. Shortly after arrival, we became extremely concerned about the level of supervision, responsiveness, and overall safety precautions in place for vulnerable patients. We had to request additional safety measures ourselves, including bed rails and a floor mattress, because we did not feel comfortable leaving him unattended overnight. I ultimately stayed overnight at the facility myself to help monitor his condition and ensure his safety. What made the situation even more concerning was learning about the facility's recent survey deficiencies while simultaneously witnessing several troubling issues firsthand. The overnight staffing situation appeared overwhelmed, and the environment did not feel appropriate for someone recovering from surgery with cognitive impairment and complex medical needs. Our family has since begun requesting a transfer to another facility because we no longer feel confident this is a safe or appropriate environment for his recovery. I understand healthcare workers are often under difficult conditions, and I appreciate the individual staff members who tried to help, but overall this experience has been heartbreaking and extremely stressful for our family during an already vulnerable time.

I couldn't ask for better people. I had a situation that involved family members trying to commit fraud to get to my dad's assets by creating a fraudulent POA. The staff there was very protective of my dad and brought it to my attention. Police got involved and the nursing center supported my authority to take care of Dad. As the POA I banned their visitation there. And I was very happy to see how well the staff went above and beyond to keep the vultures away at my request. They pampered my dad in every way possible. This was a very good experience having my dad there. I highly recommend this place. I read a few of the negative reviews on this page and they don't even make sense. A lot of the things that are said are not even close to true. For example, the claim that nobody speaks English there is false. Some of the names of staff that are mentioned in bad reviews, are just not there. I know because I spent a lot of time there visiting with my dad and pretty much got to know all of the staff. I believe that some of the bad reviews are either fake or they are from people that mistake The Springs Post Acute for another place.

It's so bad, you forget what side of the border you're on. All the CNAs are cliquish and have an attitude problem. Private packs of cigarettes and special favors are only for male residents. Or at least the ones that can throw the biggest tantrum. Female residents must adhere to the rules at all times, if allowed to smoke at all. It's not a bad place. I think if you're a man, you'd do better. You wouldn't have to deal with the hassles and the double-standards. It was a little to Dark Ages for me. Also, they were rude to my guest. There's nowhere comfortable for guests to sit. Just these horrible metal chairs. They didn't see to her comfort when she wanted to sit down. She's disabled. They were just rude!
