Dr. David Doan is such a caring and considerate dentist. I'm guessing, he treats his patients like how he would want to be treated. I had to have a root canal on my lower front tooth. The technique he used to distract me from feeling the novocaine injection is remarkable. One of a kind. Very successful in avoiding any painful discomforting issues. For a dentist to create his own technique in trying not to inflect painful injections, show to me how caring, considerate and pride in his work. My next appointment was for a new cap for my upper front tooth. Once again Dr. David did his unique distraction ritual and painlessly injected my upper front tooth area. Best Dentist I've ever had. He's really good at breaking down the risks and benefits for you so you can make a decision that's best for you. You never get that sales pressure. He's always just looking out for your best interest. One of the things I am most impressed with is his anesthetic injection technique. He does a very well timed and effective pinch/wiggling of your cheeks as he pokes you with the needle. They see me on time and I'm hardly left waiting. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is always plentiful (huge private lot). Many fear the dentist, but Dr. David Doan will soothe your worries. He's a BOSS. Professional, friendly, and thorough. He truly gives you his full attention during consultations/exams and explains treatments, processes, and options. First Consultation: When I came for my first consult, I had a full set of x-rays done and he gave me an overview of what he looks for when reviewing my x-rays. It was like a crash course of my teeth situation. Eg. He knew I'm a flosser because plaque didn't show up on the x-ray; showing worn out/old fillings that he recommends to get refilled; highlighting proper tooth roots (pointed vs blunt) and explaining the difference; pointing out "problem areas" where I should take extra TLC when brushing. Procedure: I had to come back the following week to get my old fillings redone. He didn't rush the procedure, was thorough/gentle, gave a step-by-step explanation, and made sure I was comfortable through everything. Hygienist: I get my bi-annual cleaning exams from Linda and highly recommend her! Like, Dr. David, Linda is thorough and friendly. update review! So I found that most of my cavity fillings were not properly sealed in and have new cavity underneath them. BEWARE. of cheap filling material they used on me. Didn't even last 2 years! My front tooth cavity filling came off so didn't look good at all and had to fix it at another dentist! BTW this was when Dr. Barme was the primary dentist. I'll start by saying this - I have always been afraid of the dentist and the only thing that pushed me to go back was a dental emergency when I could no longer avoid an extraction I needed. I was so freaked out about coming in because I knew I would have to get work done, especially since I hadn't been to the dentist since I lost my dental insurance at 26. As someone who just graduated, I was worried about being going in uninsured and on a tight budget. I could NOT be happier with my experience. From the front desk to seeing Dr. Doan, everything was beyond pleasant and really helped to dispel my anxiety about being there. The staff was friendly and fun - I think they could sense I was nervous and really made me feel at ease by inserting small jokes here and there as they checked me in. When Dr. Doan came in to go over my x-rays with me, he laid out step by step everything I would need done in order to maintain my oral health without any pressure and provided a very manageable timeline to get it done it. He seemed very receptive to not only how anxious I was to be there, but also to any financial concerns I may have had. He was so considerate and extremely helpful. I went in the next day to have my procedure done and it was even better than I expected. Dr. Doan made sure to stop and reassess any time I felt pain during my extraction and was super gentle, explaining every step of what was going on to ensure I felt at ease during the procedure. He truly is an incredible dentist. There was an EXCELLENT dental assistant with him as well during my whole procedure that really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable the entire time. I wish I could remember her name because she deserves all the recognition as well! As far as the financials, I felt like the price was actually very reasonable considering that I am not insured, and the office manager gave my plan with the procedures I have coming up next and the price for each. I never felt pressured or embarrassed about being uninsured or being on a student budget, which I know is a big source of reluctance for people seeking dental/medical care. I have literally been to this dental office once thus far, however they have a TRULY AMAZING and CARING staff. Both the hygienist, Tracey and Dr. Kim went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my 7 year old was comfortable during his visit. I have NEVER in my life seen an office that caters to kids the way that they do. I could go on and on but to make it short...my son can't wait to go back! I also have a HORRIBLE phobia of dentists after some REALLY awful experiences I have had. Poor experience with my mother she had to go to another dentist to fix the crowns she received they called her crazy. My niece had her wisdom teeth pulled and she looked like fat bastard after the procedure dentist is not gentle. I had a filling done and he refused to apply any pain medication before the procedure. The staff and services provided at this dental practice were definitely a great combination. The front office is great at communicating with their clients at every step of the process. They do cate about their practice, as well as every client that walks in their doors. One notable factor with this place is their clientele's length of time going here. Final Decision: Fast, Friend, Professional The dreaded fear that most people have about the dentist is the fear of the drilling sound. Or it could be the association of dental pain from seeing them. Or it could be just the news that the dentist would share with you during the exam. Well if you have any of these, you will not see them with the dentists here. It was my first visit to this place and I have seen several different dentists over the years, and the experience I got here was amazing. Immediately when I showed up, I was initially welcomed by the receptionist and started filling out forms and done within minutes. My dentist actually came out to greet me and introduced himself. I gave him the low down and my fears and Dr. Doan reassured that everything should be a-ok. They took the usual xrays, but what was cool was when I sat down in the examining chair. They used small fiberoptic technology to visually show you the insides of your teeth and engage you as a patient show you can actually see what inside your mouth instead of taking the dentist's word from his mouth. Definitely reinforces what you learn and see. After about 15 minutes of examining and the doctor proceeded with a new filling. Had a filling done years ago and the wear and tear led to an uncomfortable feeling recently. Dr Doan was efficient and professional and made the entire experience fast and virtually painless. I spent most of the time on the chair just chit chatting with the dentist and hygienist. It was a very friendly and pressure free environment. Afterwards, the doctor gave me a tour of his office which was immaculate and pretty cool. Who can say that they went to a dental office that is built like a bank vault or for that matter is made of an actually vault. At the end of the day had I had Dr. Doan as my dentist as a child, I don't think I would have had the fears I had years ago.
