Second, the…read moreGold Line is no more, and this station is now the eastern terminus of the E Line (it was formerly the the southeast terminus of the Gold Line and then the eastern terminus of the southern half of the severed Gold Line)--new experience and all. PARKING STRUCTURE It used to be free on weekends, but it no longer is. That's kind of annoying, but $3 for three hours is pretty good. There are plenty of parking spaces. You can use the Metro app to pay for parking, or you can use the machine on the first level. If you use the machine, you'll need your license-plate number, so either memorize it or take a photo of it before you go downstairs. There's only one pay station. I believe parking is free from four a.m. to eleven a.m., but I may just be misreading things. You would end up paying way more for parking (and gas) if you drove to your final destination, so don't complain about a dollar an hour. Unfortunately, there's only one entrance to the parking structure, and you have to be heading southbound on South Atlantic Boulevard to enter, so even though the address of the station itself and its platform are technically on Pomona Boulevard, you'll need to approach on Atlantic from the north to park. Trust your GPS in this one case. The elevator is Peesville, USA, so don't use it if you don't need to, and don't touch anything with your bare hands. E LINE If you want to go from East L.A. to Santa Monica for $1.75 (or $0.35 if you're a senior outside of rush hour), this is your stop! I've yet to make that entire trip, but I've now traveled to two Notre Dame-USC games from here. The first time, it was to Jefferson/USC Station to see the Notre Dame women dominate the No. 3 Women of Troy at the Galen Center. The second time, a week later, to Expo Park/USC Station to see the Notre Dame football team punch its College Football Playoff ticket against a defenseless Trojan defense. Atlantic was our starting and returning point on both occasions, and it still scores three stars as a station. They need more fare machines. At the eastern (parking-structure) end of the platform, there are only two. Because the machines are so complicated, this is nowhere near enough, especially at the beginning/end of a line. My other complaint is that the distance from the eastern end of the platform to the parking structure is ridiculously long. I never noticed this before, but then I had never ridden the train with someone who couldn't easily walk long distances before. When the E Line gets extended farther east (all the way to Whittier!), they're actually going to rebuild the platform southeast of where it now sits. I hope they take walking distance from parking to the new platform(s) into account.

Know your license plate number to punch into the kiosk. $3 for public parking (only after 11am) Can pay via credit card or cash at the kiosk. Transit riders can also pay via an app. I suppose it is a changing of the times. An extra $2 plus $1.75 in one way fare is still reasonable enough to avoid the headache of driving and parking in downtown.

It's a Metro Rapid line, so there are less stops for a somewhat quicker ride. The 780 would arrive on time and the driver was usually personable. Because this stop is a bus transit HUB, our group of passengers are the first on the bus - a definite advantage to strategically find a comfortable seat. The bus travels North up Fairfax Ave. and hooks a right on Hollywood blvd. Basically every morning and evening I'd get a little Hollywood / LA Tour. It passes the 10 Fwy, Canter's Deli, the Grove, TCL Chinese Theatre, Hollywood Highland Center, Pantages Theatre, The W., House Of Pies, Griffith Park, Los Feliz, Bigfoot's Lodge, Glendale Galleria, the Americana at Brand, The Oinkster (Eagle Rock), rides along the 210 Fwy, Paseo Pasadena.. To top it off it crosses the infamous Colorado 'Suicide' Street Bridge far East from Eagle rock going into Pasadena. It's a wonderful sight from the bus because its raised higher than other vehicles, so you can see a little beyond the railing giving you a beautiful view of what the San Gabriel Valley has to offer. Fair warning: there are moments where it gets ridiculously crowded on this bus. It's because it goes right through highly congested traffic arteries most LA natives know to avoid if they're going to drive themselves (Fairfax Ave, Hollywood Blvd, Vermont Blvd, Los Feliz Blvd and Colorado Blvd). It's a route a normal Angelino would NOT drive. But because you're not driving and you're the passenger, it truly is like a mini tour where you can take in the greater Los Angeles area without the hassle of being behind the wheel.

During high school I rode it allot although after that I stopped and got spoiled with driving so much all around LA, North side, east side and West Side, and really forgot about the Public Trans systems. The Buses are Clean and I felt Safe, not like back in the days... in the late 1990s.... Theirs plenty of space and connecting buses to get all around our Beautiful City we call home... I think we all Take For Granted the great things in front us, once in a while.

We parked there for a concert on October 25th, and when the event ended, two of the three exits were closed with zero staff on site. Traffic was completely gridlocked, and my family and I were stuck in the structure for over an hour with no direction, no communication, and no way out. It was chaotic and unsafe -- if there had been a medical emergency or fire, no one would have been able to exit. I contacted USC Transportation afterward to request a refund, explaining the lack of staff and the unsafe conditions, but they denied the refund without any accountability. For a university-managed operation charging premium event rates, this is unacceptable. USC Transportation clearly needs to rethink how they manage traffic and staffing during large events. At the very least, don't expect any support once they've collected your payment.

The USC Transportation office is bias in their delivery of service to Black customers compared to…read morethose who are non-Black. I had an appointment; no greeting, given misinformation about parking and inconvenienced on more than one occasion. There was no attempt to rectify their mishap. Meanwhile, a non-Black person walked in with no appointment and received the 'royal treatment'; warm and positive greeting, attention to detail, and all questions were answered professionally. Every customer should receive great service, irrespective of their ethnicity.
