These are the best bagels. Period. I have taken native New Yorkers (which I am) as well as people from out of state here and each time I get the same reaction: "Wow." Their bagel and egg sandwiches are a Goshen staple. I always get my bagel just egg and cheese so that I can fully taste the bagel, but adding bacon is a delicious choice. Each time I go to NY I make sure to stop here and get a dozen bagels to freeze at home (pro tip- cut them before freezing). I also love their deli sandwiches (which I always get on a bagel!). They use Boar's Head deli meats and stack that bagel up high. Sooo good. Their bakery section is delicious as well. Get either a black and white cookie or the double chocolate muffin. I don't know what these other yelpers consider bagels, but these are as authentic as they come. Go here! read more

Asked for a bacon egg and cheese on a toasted bagel. What I received was the smallest, untoasted bagel with what looked like one piece of chopped up bacon. They conveniently do not list the prices of some bagel sandwiches, and charge a ridiculous amount after they are made. $29.09 for two bagel sandwiches with cream cheese and smoked salmon. This price exceeds DC and NYC for the same item. Inflation has obviously hit this previously upstanding deli, and they are over charging customers for it. Ordered a simple item, a Bacon, egg & cheese. How could that be messed up? Well sadly it was. Cheese was cold, bagel had a very odd taste to it which did not taste fresh compared to the many other places I have gone to. The cheese? Was not even melted! I was completely disgusted because how can someone mess this up and make it taste gross at the same time. I'm overall disappointed completely and had higher expectations for this location. I will not be coming back here ever again, until it is either improved or something positive changes with the food itself and how it is made. Remember! Quality over quantity! read more

I have been going to NJB since I was in 4th grade (15 years)!! I am super picky about bagels and they have THE BEST bagels. If you don't like the soft bagels that you buy at the store, this is the place for you! They have a nice crunch/chew to them and they also have a variety of cream cheeses that you can choose from. The employees still remember me from when I was younger and sometimes we have nice convos about that. I love supporting this business and will continue to do so whenever I'm in the area :) read more

I'm not a bagel expert but these bagels are awful, if you even want to call them that. We were happy to know our new town had a bagel shop so we placed an order and gave it a try. We got three pretty simple things. Bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel it had one very sad looking egg and barely any bacon and the cheese had disintegrated not to mention I'm not sure what this so called bagel was lol. Second thing we got was a plain bagel with bacon and cheese. It had a good amount of bacon however cheese had disintegrated as well and the bagel well tasted weird and was oh so sad looking. Last was a plain bagel with light cream cheese (or so I requested) had tons of cream cheese. My kid had two bites and left it, she's usually a whole bagel eater. Giving it 1 star because the guy that rung us up was nice. Definitely not coming back. read more

There are pros and cons to this place. Omlettes are great and reasonably priced, but their bagels are small, tough and inferior to competitors. They accept credit cards, but require a minimum (a pet peeve of mine). Their coffee is just OK. The staff is friendly and nice. read more

I don't see what the big issue is here. This is a decent bagel store that serves good bagels and sandwiches as well as local coffee. Yes the bagel hole might be a little bigger than a more traditional NY bagel but they're made on site and taste just as good. They're sandwiches are better crafted than the newer bagel store that opened up down the road from not just bagels and they have a great friendly staff. I've never waited more than five minutes for what I ordered too which is great! I will continue to go where my sandwiches are made best and not just bagels is it. read more

Today, (10/10/14) I was in your Deli and ordered a Turkey Wrap from the Deli Clerk. She failed to wear two gloves. I was so in shock that she made my sandwich with 1 glove and touched all of the meat and wrap with her un-gloved hand, I paid for my sandwich, walked out and threw it in the dumpster. I don't mind much that they are small, although when bigger and fluffier and good tasting, it can't be beat. But because of the size, they are harder. It's worth driving about 10 miles away to Bagel World in Monroe for some of the best. If I don't feel like driving, the Chester Bagel store is WAY better than this. Don't waste your money.
