I have to say, this was the best donut I have ever had. Ever. I would drive back "upstate" just for these donuts! Not only are the donuts delicious, and fresh, the man that helped me was so nice. What a spot! I was able to visit after spending the night in Middletown, NY. Of course, when I entered Daddy's, we immediately started talking about Boston and NY. The owner was working and is a great guy. Very personable! I ordered 4 doughnuts. I wish I ordered a dozen! 1 Glazed, 2 chocolate covered, 1 jelly I was able to save them until I got to place I was visiting. I was able to take a picture of the chocolate covered, which I enjoyed! The doughuts are old-fashion! Like the 60's and 70's when so many doughnut shoppes made them in-house and you could smell them from miles away. Why haven't I known about this place in the over 20 years that I've lived in this area? Stopped in and spoke with the owner on a weekday later in the afternoon. He had the most incredible selection of decadent donuts. We went with a six pack and share all of them between the five of us. That is going to be my go to place from here forward for all donuts in the area. I do like glazed over over in Beacon but this place is just over the top awesome! I believe I met the owner while there... super nice guy, shook my hand and thanked me for my business as I checked out. Not only are the food and donuts amazing but Giulio welcomed us so warmly and is such a kind hearted person- making us feel so comfortable immediately upon stepping into the establishment. Daddy's donuts is a specialty donut and pastry business that just reopened to the public recently. I decided to check it out and here is what I experienced. I went around 9am on Saturday and there were 7 people in front of me. The selection was very limited, but there was a steady line of new trays of donuts coming out. I wanted to get a little bit of everything but only had $30 in cash on me. I didn't realize until I paid for my stuff that they accept credit/debit card also. I ended up getting a maple bacon, pb&j, cannoli, Nutella, apple fritter, raspberry rugelach, powdered jelly and sugar jelly. There were only a couple people up front working, but they were working as fast as they possible could while still being pleasant to every customer. For 6 donuts 1 pastry and a small pack of rugelach the total was $25. That is a little pricey I think for some people. But to be honest, I think most of the people that go there are familiar with their prices and know they are paying more for a quality product. My family and I tried all the items and we thoroughly enjoyed all of them. They could use some more help I think in both baking to keep up with demand and serving their customers, but finding good reliable help is hard to find and training kids who have this as their first job will take time to train properly. I rated them 4 stars because there selection was very limited. I would recommend stopping by to pick up 6 or 12 donuts if you are in the area. read more

My boyfriend and I came across the gem after hot air ballooning nearby. We were up since 5 AM and we needed, not lunch, but a second breakfast. ATMOSPHERE This is a no frills bakery. Food is stacked in their counters and industrial shelves. There are a few tables and chairs nearby. It is always busy. So if you're a large group, don't count on getting setting for all in your group. While its quite simple, everything here is clean. Even the bathroom is clean, clean enough for us ladies to use. :-) SERVICE The service is quite quick. Its mostly young adults behind the counter. They're perky and efficient, so expect to quickly receive your baked goods with a smile. FOOD The food is the best thing about this place. Their bread and pastries are super fresh and affordable. We bought a large super fresh lemon pie for $5. It tasted like it was made that same day. The donuts are the stars of this eatery. They have nutella fillet donuts and even donuts topped with our favorite childhood cereals like fruity pebbles. While they are pricey, they are quite large. My sister was nice enough to pick up a Cannoli donut and a Boston Cream on a recent visit to NY! -- Cannoli Adorable that it looks like a flattened cannoli instead of a round donut! Even after the ride to MA, this tasted super fresh and the dough was incredibly soft. I didn't love the powdered sugar on top, and the cream was a bit too sweet, but I loved that it had chocolate chips throughout. Overall, creative but a bit lacking flavor-wise. Dozen, 1/2 dozen so you purchase each individually ranging from $1 -$2. Being how indecisive I can be I walked in and simply said give me 1 of everything with the donuts. I walked away with 18 donuts, A elephant ear, a GIANT cookie, coffee cake and an iced tea. Came out to $32 worth of damage it was about what i guesstimated. First of all to need to start off with the turnover the length of my forearm filled with these beautiful slices of apple. My sweet god what a wonderful an flakey pastry crust. The donuts are of good quality, and you can't beat the price. Most of the donuts range between $1-$1.50 each. They also offer some pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, etc. Everything is reasonably priced. The inside of the store has tables and seating set up, but not all the time, which I found odd. The staff members are all friendly and helpful, however It would help if the donut flavors and fillings were labeled. Came here over the weekend while visiting a friend. This is a sold 3.5 stars but couldn't bring myself to rate them at 3 stars. I ordered two donuts...the cookies & cream and the long nutella one that had sugar sprinkled on top. They were good! I was so happy to see a spot like this visiting upstate. I can see I'm not the only one that has complained about this. We were on line for a little bit. I even saw a "friend" that came to the front and offered to help, and then started taking orders. Get it together people. Not only is it the holiday season but also the weekend. There needs system put in place. The workers were all over, we had to tell the girl we were paying cause she was doing something else.
