UPDATED: For me it wasn't my favorite bagel. My bagel although fresh didn't have that chew or crust you usually find in a bagel. That's my opinion. The store is immaculate though. Ordered breakfast for the family. I got a sesame bagel, a mini bagel with cc and lox, chicken wrap, turkey and cheese on a roll, chocolate chip waffle and cheeseburger. First I asked for the bagels to be toasted and they weren't. Second if you threw the bagel at the wall it will dent the wall. The bagels were so hard and didn't taste good. The wrap and cheeseburger sucked. The only good thing was the turkey and cheese roll and the chocolate chip waffle which my kid liked. Oh and the coffee was good too. read more

I used to love Not Just Bagels, but my recent experiences have been really disappointing. The bagels are still great, but the rest of the food has gone downhill. The bacon was soggy and greasy, the eggs didn't even taste real, and even the coffee tasted off -- like raspberry or something, probably from not cleaning the machines properly. I ended up throwing everything out and stopping at 7-Eleven just to get a coffee. I brought my concerns directly to the owner, but instead of really listening, he brushed it off with a quick "Thanks for bringing it up" and defended the food because he cooked it himself. As a business owner myself, I found that response really disappointing. It's a shame because this used to be one of my favorite spots, but $18 wasted and poor customer service says a lot. read more

This is a very good spot right off of Hylan Boulevard. They seem to have a good selection of sandwiches and their coffee is pretty good. I ate this Mediterranean sandwich when I went because I wasn't craving meat. It still turned out to be pretty damn good. I'll be back. read more

They never disappoint! We have ordered over the years catering from them for our office and they have always come through. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Even yesterday, we had to place a last minute catering order that was fairly large, and they were more than accommodating towards us and came through last minute. Corner spot, pretty busy during the day and for a good reason. "Not just bagels" indeed, pastries, coffee and sandwiches to order, quite a large selection of items. Take your time to figure out what you'd like as there are many options and you can mix and match pretty much everything. They also have a lot of seasonal items for most holidays. Highly recommend. I needed to cater a breakfast and was kindly assisted by Danielle who helped me go over the menu and placed my order. I was able to place my order in less than 24 hours and this was very helpful. The prices are budget friendly and the food is fresh. For some reason I assumed the bagel tray came with cinnamon or blueberry bagels but it's more on the savory side. Really disappointed in the service and conditions of the establishment. I was ordering for 5 people, but every time I ordered an item the woman assisting me would walk away. She messed up every part of my order and I had to repeat it three times. She seemed annoyed to have to help me. I checked my order at the end after a couple of mistakes to make sure everything was correct but still something was wrong AND she gave me an attitude for wanting to check. While waiting for my food I noticed that none of the dairy items were refrigerated and I had just ordered a latte. I threw it out when I got home. I'm not sure if it's the new management or just the woman that helped me, but it was a terrible experience. read more

I run a few businesses I deal w customers all day every day never have I ever caught an attitude w a customer or shrugged my shoulders when a question comes up... I'm not from around there but they were close to my customer So I placed a last minute decent size order about more than a dozen bagels, some muffins, fresh lox bagel and so on...A very nice girl took my order after placing me on hold 3-4x bc maybe she was new I don't know, not a big deal.. Although I usually don't specifically ask for cream cheese and butter when I place a huge bagel order bc most bagel places that I've dealt with in the past, about 2-3x/week I do this, include that when you place a large assortment of bagels, I felt the need to specify bc I got the gist on the phone that this would be a mess. I also didn't mind to pay ahead of time not a big deal... I get there they're like you didn't say you need cream cheese, I'm like I specifically told the girl on the phone I need cream cheese I'm not going to go anywhere w bagels w no cream cheese or butter am I out of my mind for assuming? Maybe...so then I'm like fine I need cream cheese they're like how much I'm like I don't know enough for 20 bagels they stare at me like I have 3 heads then I get charged $27 for 2 pints of cream cheese and butter...they're pretty expensive too.. Arrived about 630am and had a few people ahead of us. The two working behind the counter, though friendly were fixated on serving one person at a time. A line formed behind us and people actually walked out due to the slow progress. The food we ordered omelletes and bagel sandwiches were freshly made and very good. First off I ordered 5 bagels over the phone for a pick up. The girl tells me I need to give a credit card number in order for the order to be placed. So I gave my credit card number thinking that they put just a hold on the card! When I walked in there to get my food it had been paid for already and put on my credit card. The girl behind the counter was rude and told me that I had paid for it over the phone when I didn't know that I paid for it over the phone. I would give this place no star TBH. I walked in with my bf and we gave a very simple order. The young lady who took our order grabbed the wrong bagels and blamed us! In fact she didn't raise her voice, SHE SCREAMED OUT WE SAID EGG BAGLES!!! I assure you, this is false. If you can't hear the clients, then maybe turn down the music, write down the order, and repeat it clearly slowly and there wouldn't be people such as myself, leaving this place in the dust. Hands down the BEST BAGELS in Staten Island (awaiting for the rock throwing.............) But this family owned bagel shop is just what the soul calls for in the AM. My family and I are regulars and have nothing but great things to say about the service and the quality of the food. You know a place is good when there are tons of people coming in and out of the front door with tons of food. Speaking of food. This place has it all. Eggs, bagels of all kinds and even some you would never think of: Rainbow bagels, cannoli filled bagels, chocolate bagels, etc. There are seats and tables in the event you want to take a load off and also some seating outside for the brave or those in the summer months. I ordered a peanut butter and banana smoothie that was great, a nice authentic everything bagel with cream cheese and fresh lox, and french toast that was fluffy on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside, and not overloaded with sugar. Everything was delivered promptly and the employees were very kind and professional. I would say the average review (2.5/5 as of 9/7/18) is entirely unfounded and unfair, not to mention that the restaurant industry is very difficult to thrive in to begin with.
