A real Staten Island institution. No putting your name down for a table. You lineup by the door and wait your turn behind the others. Order by number (I'll have the #3 and the #4 with a side of bacon etc). Endless refillable coffee, plants abound by the windows, the servers have worked here for decades, a real sweet family scene with grandparents parents teenagers grandkids enjoying brunch together. Stick to the classic eggs bacon oatmeal (skip the egg salad) and the boundless coffees and you'll be very very and completely endeared. 5 stars!!!!

3 1/2 stars. This place has been around forever and is a regular haunt for the older folks (retirees) and the people who live in the neighborhood. The coffee is hot and strong and the food is consistently ok. It was, in the past, bargain eats but, like anything else, an omelette breakfast with home fries, bacon and toast will set you back $15.00. I stopped in early last Sunday morning on my way home from Staten Island. It's open seating and you can pick a table or the counter. The wait staff is friendly but, the owner is not! Never has been, lol!!! Anyway, like I said, the food is consistently ok. Eggs, potatoes and toast. You really can't jazz it up or screw it up. They do have a decent breakfast, lunch and early dinner menu. Parking in that neighborhood can be a bitch! Always has been!! Escaped without a parking ticket, lol.

This is more than just a coffee shop. It's a diner that serves awesome food, and breakfast all day! Once you walk in you are greeted by the hostess and the owner, George. Very pleasant and friendly staff to go along with this establishment. Greek Gyro (or cheeseburger) is my usual go-to meal when I hit up any diner. It's sort of a tradition for me, and this place did not mess up the Gyro I had. It was a nice sized meal, but what made it even more tantalizing was the side of homemade tzaziki sauce. I could not get enough, and they were not cheap with the amount they gave either. All the ingredients looked fresh and colorful. I was very surprised and pleased with my experience here. It looks smaller than it is from the outside, but there is enough seating. One thing is that there is no parking lot, street parking only. It is worth the visit, and I'm sure I'll be back for more than just the tzaziki sauce!

Affordable, delicious, and bustling diner! Perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Service is quick and attentive. Great neighborhood vibes and locals who always frequent! I've only gotten breakfast items here and many entrees come with a side of potatoes and buttered toasts! Will come back for a burger or dinner next time! You get your check and pay at the counter up front. Card and cash accepted.

    Not what I ordered

My husband and I needed a quick bite to eat so in the area he remembered about this place . We walked in the staff invited us to sit wherever we wanted . Small place with outdated style seating we choose a booth in the back. My husband ordered a coffee with creamer the Waitress in a rush came back with coffee and milk. We ordered our food he ordered a an omelette with spinach cheese and mushrooms, I ordered a chicken gyro wrap. The food comes the waitress brings the picture I posted . I asked this is a wrap? She said no I like this better than. A wrap cause you can use a fork. I stated this is not what O ordered she said again this is what she likes better. I would of honestly returned my food but with the cost of food these days and the hit it has been on small business I just kept the meal that I did not want. Food was tasteless, my husband eggs were terrible he said as well as the coffee was not fresh. Certainly not a place will we return to.

Great coffee, french fries and sandwiches! The turkey- bacon BLT on rye is a personal favorite, but they also have great corned beef & pastrami as well as the expected 'egg-pertise' to be a great place for breakfast! Expect a bit of a wait around breakfast time & lunch on weekends. After dozens of meals here we have never left disappointed!

    #2 special .

It's plain just ok. Old school atmosphere, small place. Old people seem to frequent it. Plain food. CASH only (tax evasion?).

I was surprised at the amount of space there was considering it's in a strip mall. Scouring the menu, I noticed they had tons of healthy options. I debated between the shrimp and chicken, but ultimately decided on #28, blackened chicken breast with brown rice and veggies. I asked if I could substitute the veggies for peppers and they were happy to accommodate. We went to Walgreens so she could pick something up and our order was ready by the time we came back. When I opened my bag, I was shocked at how big the platter was. If portioned correctly, you could easily get 3-4 meals. Kudos to them for not skimping on the protein because there was plenty abound. Before I left, they asked if I wanted any sauces. I told them I'd like teriyaki and they gave it to me in this large container. I took two bites (before I put it on) just to see if it was seasoned. The chicken was but the rice was plain, so I decided to go ahead and add it. I noticed the consistency was more of a liquid and it tasted like soy sauce. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my meal and the generous portions. I'll for sure be back next time I'm on the island.

It has a casual vibe, but still feels like a proper restaurant, which makes it perfect for anything from a quick bite to a relaxed sit down meal. It's a small spot, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine in. I've tried their signature coal oven pizza, chicken parmigiana, penne vodka, and the flatbread. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can also order drinks, not just soda or juice, which adds to the overall experience. Street parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it. I was so caught up with enjoying the food that I barely took any photos, and that just says it all. I'll definitely be back and add more pictures next time.

There's of course falafel to the east, garantita in Algeria, and panisse in France (or socca in a similar vein). Sicilian panelle is Italy's counterpart, and the version at Ungaro is an excellent example of it. The panelle comes served with a healthy serving of ricotta on a seeded bun. It has a relatively mild, filling flavor that lets you fully enjoy the chickpea fritters themselves. They also have a potato croquette sandwich on the menu - a distant cousin of the Vada pav I plan to try next time. The half vodka pizza we tried was good, with high-quality mozzarella and a decadent sauce. The pie itself had a nice chewiness to it - if I had any suggestions, perhaps next time they could go a bit easier on the quantity of the sauce.
