My company used Bell and Trunk to provide bud vases and a small arrangement for a cocktail hour type reception. Beautiful flowers and a good experience overall! Bell and Trunk were the most affordable of the local SF florists I inquired, and the photos on their website looked great! They have a convenient "a la carte" ordering section on their website that allows you to order for smaller events or elopements, unlike a lot of other event-focused florists that have a minimum order amount. It was a bit hard to find, but when I emailed the shop, they helpfully directed me there. I think this option would be great for smaller events like my own, or just people who want one-off small arrangements like prom corsages. Service was great. Despite only ordering "a la carte," 11 bud vases and a cocktail table arrangement, they were very accommodating of my ideas and allowed me some customization. (I asked for a specific color of vases, which they delivered on, and sent them our company colors, which they were able to capture pretty well through flower choice.) They were also very patient with me when my credit card did not go through and when I accidentally gave them the wrong delivery date at first. They also delivered promptly in a specific time window without charging extra for "special event" delivery. The flowers also looked wonderful! They were very colorful, and the arrangements were well-balanced and captured our company colors in a subtle way. read more

We went to Bell and Trunk for my bouquet for both my civil ceremony and backyard wedding, and I was absolutely blown away! I didn't have strong feelings about what I wanted it to look like so I gave pretty minimal direction - only including the location of the weddings, preferred colors and sent few descriptors like "whimsical"... and then for the backyard wedding, including a few of the flowers we were going to get wholesale and include in bud vases on tables... ultimately hoping they would do what they wanted and WOW they definitely delivered. Both bouquets were gorgeous - everything I didn't even know I wanted! I'm so glad I trusted them to create what they thought was best. What we ordered and what we received. We ordered from Bell and Trunk many times in the past and only had great experiences until today. I don't think they look similar. Roses seemed fresh and nice, but this is not what we expected. We also specifically asked the flowers to be put under the mailbox, but the delivery person simply left it in front of the door which made wind knocked down the vase and I found the entire thing fallen in front of our garage. * update: No, I did not 'select' the flowers. I just got whatever you handed me. If I had seen the pictures that my husband ordered from the website, there is no way I would have returned with the flowers you gave to me. I've had not 1, but 2 negative experiences in a row here now, so I think it's time to share those with people considering this shop for their florist needs. First the positive: Two summers ago, I had a fantastic experience there with Molly; even jotted her name down in my notes because she was so lovely to chat with. I arrived just as they were closing, with the last minute idea that I'd surprise a friend with a bouquet, and Molly came through, working within my budget and putting together a pretty arrangement I was proud to gift my friend. The flowers were in great shape despite it being late in the day. Now the negative: I returned again for my own birthday, hoping to treat myself to a bouquet. The person running the shop (NOT Molly) was on the phone. No problem, I browsed around at the flower selection outside as well as their cute gift selection indoors, waiting for them to be available to help me. After I ran out of things to browse, I still was not acknowledged. At all. (It is a tiny shop, they definitely were aware I was present and thinking of buying something.) A quick "sorry I'm on the phone but will try to be with you soon" would have been enough for me to stay but I didn't get that so I left. I returned earlier this week for another time-sensitive try (I live nearby, hence why it would've been great for this place to work out for me). Hours on Yelp were just updated 3 weeks ago for Bell and Truck and say they open at 11am. I arrived at about 11:30am to find the staff member unloading flowers from their car. Here's how the conversation went. Me: Oh, am I too early? Staff, with an unfriendly expression: Yes. Did you want something? I was confused at this point, as I thought it obvious that a person arriving at a flower shop during opening hours would be wanting to buy flowers. When I explained that was my intent, I was instructed to return at 12pm as the flowers still needed to be inventoried. Spoiler alert: I did not return. Look, I get that things come up. Some mornings can get off to a rough start. A simple "sorry I am running behind today" would have washed away this experience in my mind entirely. But I didn't get it and am left confused as to how a cute shop with pretty flowers that I would've loved to love could feel so cold and unwelcoming. read more

Consistently disappointed with this place. I live down the street and have gone in a few times for spontaneous bouquets and they have no concept of colorways. I asked for a gender neutral bouquet for a friend who had a girl baby and I arrived to find an arrangement of bright pink roses. So I asked them to redo it and they took ONE hour to add in other pinks and lilacs. So I resorted to pointing out the flowers I liked and it was better but still nowhere near gender neutral. My husband asked for light pastels for a surprise for me and the bouquet looks like a brightly colored rainbow. Pretty colors, but not my preference and not what he asked for. read more

Ordered flowers online for my friend's birthday. They called my friend and asked if anyone was going to be home for the flower delivery. A bit odd as it's supposed to be a surprise. However I guess they do that to make sure someone will be there to receive it instead of leaving it out in the open. When ordering online I would suggest to put your number versus the recipient's. Also online it shows the flower in a vase. It did not come with one, it just came in a box. A little clarity on the description when ordering would be nice! I recently (Dec 30th) received a bouquet as a thank you for hosting an event in my home. I am at the flower mart regularly, host many parties and events, and do arrangements often. The bouquet I received from this shop was AWFUL -- horrible color combination, half dead flowers (actually browned). It was so sad and pathetic that it was a source of great amusement for my guests at New Years. I was going to throw it out before anyone arrived, but it was so ugly it was comical. The sender has EXQUISITE taste so I was very surprised. I decided to call the florist to ask if the sender had chosen the color combination or had seen the bouquet. She had not... the florist had chosen. I let the owner know how brown the flowers were, the roses were at the end of their life and would not last more than a day. It looked like it had been made from a mish mash of the dregs of what was left of dying bouquets. Her response was that it was the best she could do, agreed it wasn't the best combo and the flowers were browned. She insisted the flowers were new (not true) and might look damaged due to being in the refrigerated trucks too long... actually saying they might have frostbite! She blamed it on the flower mart selection. I've been there 3x in the past 2 weeks and fresh flowers are in abundance! If her excuse is valid... I think she owed it to the customer to let her know she was having trouble sourcing healthy, decent flowers this week and maybe send an orchid, a plant instead ... or perhaps something else next week when things are better at the flower mart. Seems like the professional thing to do. She did not care that the flowers were half dead, admitted they looked damaged (frostbitten), or that the color combination was questionable (being generous here -- one guest said the colors looked like vomit). Her attitude was "oh well....too bad" Just letting folks know before sending from this shop -- I would hate to be a bride and hear these excuses and have zero customer service to make things right for a major event. If the owner could not handle this in a professional manner for a simple bouquet, I would be seriously worried about a major event. I look to Yelp for reviews often, and rely on the Yelp community to spot bad actors. I rarely write on the site, only when something is really bad and warrants a warning to persons looking to use a vendor or business. read more
