I just got the stuffed eggplant with rice and it was absolutely delicious! It melted in my mouth, soft and easy to chew, cooked to perfection. Seated on a very generous bed of rice, I enjoyed every bite, (and will enjoy the bit I have left over, too). Like I said, the portions are generous. The sauce is flavorful, but not too overpowering. Combined with the chopped beef and pine nut stuffing, the blending of flavors is perfection. I know I'll be ordering the stuffed eggplant again. I recommend it highly. Speaking of generous portions, Not Just Thaboule is the only place I get my Greek salad from - at least once a week. The homemade dressing is out of this world! (You can buy it by the bottle...it's THAT good!) They don't skimp on anything, including the amazing amount of Feta cheese and Greek olives adorning the top. Served with plenty of complimentary pita bread, I get several meals from just one of their fresh, crisp salads. If you like Greek salad, do yourself a favor and try theirs. Incredible portions, I got the mezze platter and it was huge! As well as delicious. The gentleman who took my order was very kind and accommodating. I wanted to order something a la carte and while it's not on the menu, he was able to charge me for a la carte falafel which were very good as well. We will be back soon read more

I wanted to like this place; I really did. The owner seems nice enough. The problem is the food - it is not authentic; it is not seasoned; and it is not cooked properly. Have had the falafel wrap before and it's not bad. This review is of the "Stuffed eggplant", which was not even close to stuffed eggplant. (Disclosure: I have lived/travelled all over the Balkans and have had every variation of stuffed eggplant imaginable, even the Turkish imam bayildi, and prepare it myself.) Stuffed eggplant is served in the skin; the eggplant diced and cooked with garlic; salt; tomatoes; diced meat; parsley; etc. and put back into the eggplant to roast. It's a time-consuming endeavor which is bursting with flavor, and therefore worth the $14. What I was served at Not Just Thaboule was an embarrassment - it was NOT stuffed eggplant. It was a few slices of peeled eggplant over a miniscule amount of ground meat with 4 pine nuts (yes I counted); NO seasoning of any kind whatsoever - no garlic, or even salt or pepper - over the blandest rice I have ever had. ZERO spices/seasonings of ANY KIND. I had to add salt and pepper just to make it edible. Rice was floating in oil (see picture). The menu description promises a "special sauce". The "special sauce" was CANNED TOMATOES. That's it - they didn't even bother to season the canned tomato sauce!! Most tasteless, pathetic dish I have ever purchased from a "Middle Eastern" restaurant. Reading the other reviews saying the same, I will not be back. My intent is not to be mean-spirited, but to let the owners know if they're running a restaurant they should at least know how to cook the cuisine they're offering. Stuffed eggplant may be a lot of things, but one thing it is never supposed to be is BLAND (or peeled). read more

The restaraunt is on a main residential street, Center Street in fact, located on the ground floor of a historic house in N Easton. Definately has a mom and pop look and feel. I drive by it when I cut through going from Roche Brothers to Shaws at 5 corners. Driven by it many times and never stopped for some unknown reason? I guess I'm not hungry and in a hurry. How dumb of me. Well today I was hungry, had time and stopped in. More than adequate parking in front or on the side especially at 2.30. Debbie waited on me and was so friendly that we chatted the whole time she was preparing my falafel wrap. It's the perfect lunch, substantial enough to be happy with half and very tasty with all the standard fixings. The tahini sauce is delish. Its a healthy and hearty wrap for sure. And with tax still under $10. Only a few miles from home I could do this more often as I loved the wrap. Not sure on the other menu items but I wouldn't hesitate and took the take out menu. The stuffed eggplant sounds good to me. Take out is pretty much it. She said they have been there 9 years now. Wow time fly's! We joked about being close to the police station and she said yes the police and fire department were big fans. I guess if there was ever a problem she's covered! Nasty, just nasty. NEVER AGAIN! I tried to give this place a second chance. The first time, I got a salad (inedible). However, any place could have a bad day. So a year later, I thought I should give it another shot. I bought the chicken fingers with fries. The chicken was not the best but I was eating it. However, I took a bite of one French fry and nearly vomited. I would not even feed this to my dog. Not Just Taboule in Easton is amazing! The greek salad has huge chunks of feta cheese, the salad dressing and marinade is home made (full of flavor even a hint of mint). The homemade hummus and fresh pita bread is delicious. After eating their food you feel like you did something great for your body. The stuffed peppers, shish, falafel wrap are all better than anything else around. Great couple (used to own the Pub in Brockton) Follow real recipes, reliable, fresh and GREAT prices, esp. for what you get. I highly recommend Not Just Taboule! It's not a restaurant, it's prepared Lebanese/Syrian type food. The food here is very good, about as good as it gets. I'm 1/2 Lebanese, I'm 66 years old and eaten a lot of it. My Sitoo and Jidoo came here from Lebanon. My mother cooked it, too. It's true the spelling of things is a bit weird, But you see that a lot. We took out grape leaves, Koosa, Kibbee, eggplant and tabouli. It's the only place I know of that has pine nuts in the baked Kibbee. Forget the Kibbee balls, baked is the only way to go. Like most places now, lamb s not used for a lot of the dishes. They also have pizza and do catering. I don't understand what the bad reviews here are about, this food is like light years better than Byblos. And...no service is better than the service at Byblos! Here's my tip for the day. You can never trust bad reviews from people with only a few reviews. Highly recommended! read more

Be forwarned. I happened on this place driving back from work and figured I would give it a try. Friendly enough wife and husband in a small shop, so I ordered the $19.99 Chef's Combo which was a generous portion. That was the good part. It has to be the worst food I have ever ordered for take out. It was so bad I didn't return it that night (they close at 7pm and now I think I know why) so I had to wait until the following day to take it back. When I said to them that the food was "just awful" the husband replied "there's nothing wrong with that meat....I make it fresh every day." Funny, as I waited for it to cook that day before I heard no grill sounds and smelled NOTHING even though the place is very small. Given the size of the place, I thought that strange at the time. Anyways, on returning the food today he said that my assessment of his food was "personal opinion" and for that reason "I'm not taking it back" (those are direct quotes). He had NO interest in looking at the food or discussing it further, which tells me all I needed to know - sell it and hope they don't come back. . Also interesting was the fact that I didn't say the food was old (trust me, it was). I said it HAD NO TASTE. My "opinion" was no salt, no spice, and certainly nothing close to Lebanese seasonings. I find it incredible that his reason for being upset with wanting a refund was because it "my personal opinion" about his food. Yes, the customer has a right to their opinion - they are CUSTOMERS. Judging by the one star reviews on Yelp, it doesn't appear that they are listening to them. Don't believe me? Check the picture I have included with the "fresh" vegetables that aren't even cooked evenly. Does that look freshly cooked to you? Charred on one side and mushy on the other side. Fresh? Delicious? I've ordered here twice and had some of a friend's order. I wasn't impressed with the food that I had any time. The Baba Ganooze had little eggplant in it, lots of Tahini, not to my taste at all. (It was saved by roasting an eggplant and adding it) The Hommous (they spell it hoomis) was very bland, and the Falafel sandwich I ordered was promptly thrown away after the second bite. Also I was expecting it to be a rolled sandwich, and although there was lots of it, it was just put into a half pita loaf, and handed to me. That may be the way that they serve them, but it was incredibly messy to eat. In their defense, my first time there I was disappointed by no Fafafel on the menu, and there was another person in the store at the same time voicing his displeasure, and now they have it. So they did listen to their customers, but sorry to say I don't like what they made. I know that I'm being picky, but I'm weirded out by the way that they spell all their Mid East dishes differently from every other Mid East restaurant I've been to, and no, I don't think that they are different dishes. We take out weekly and enjoy just about everything. Our favorites are the sandwiches and burgers. I have tried the string beans and lamb twice and noticed both times that there are plenty of string beans and lots of tomato sauce but very little lamb. Too bad as this is a favorite dish. read more

Not Just Thaboule provides extremely generous, delicious portions - the kibbi was subtley spiced and beautifully textured, the rice pilaf fluffy, and the string beans with lamb yummy. The Customer is NOT always right. The food was good the first time - but the second time - our order was somehow taken wrong and we got the wrong item. We called (as you do with any other restaurant) to let them know and hopefully get a credit for next time. It was met with a less than friendly approach - and no refund. We live in town and we decided to stop for lunch. I ordered a tuna melt and my husband ordered the rolled cabbage. The tuna melt consisted on mostly mayo and maybe a little bit of tuna with no seasoning, not even pepper. There wasn't even cheese on it!!!! The rolled cabbage looked good but it was also bland. We ordered take out and didn't eat it until we got home otherwise I would have sent it back. I don't think this place will last long.
