    Turkey sandwich on multigrain, delicious!
    Athina H.

This tiny little shop packs a powerful punch! Amazing pastries and delicious sandwiches. On my first visit I purchased the turkey sandwich with the standard fixings and it was refreshing to see they used turkey that's not processed. Actually, they use carved thick slices you get on thanksgiving! I was informed that the best sandwich however is the thanksgiving turkey sandwich. I bought it today and it definitely didn't disappoint. It's delicious. Sad thing is, I forgot to take a pic, yikes! So the one I'm posting is of the first turkey sandwich purchased. I'll be back again for the thanksgiving turkey sandwich for sure.

Always high quality and consistent. I've never had a bad thing from here but the raspberry cheese croissant is to die for. Don't sleep on the croissant egg sandwiches either. My only wish is they were open on Sundays so I could enjoy them all weekend and take my out of town visitors here.

I work up the road and noticed it driving around the city so I figured it was worth a shot. I'm happy to say that I was very pleased with my experience. The parking is at a premium so approaching could be difficult. Walking in I was immersed with the smell of fresh baked goods. The guy behind the counter immediately greeted me as I was reviewing the menu. I ordered a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich on a in house baked croissant. I also ordered 2 peanut butter frosted brownies and a cream horn. The sandwich was of great size and I was pleasantly surprised with the price point. The croissant was warm and chewy which made the sandwich melt in my mouth. The brownies and cream horn had very light and creamy toppings and was delicious. I'll be back and I'll be sure to tell others!

Super service! No veg sandwiches on the menu, but they're happy to make one for you, and they remember your order. The kindest folks ever. Delish. AMAZING pastries, fresh vegetables in the sandos, super quick to come out. Try it!

YES this place knows how to do pastries. Their pain au chocolat and savory croissants are flakey buttery crafted with care. Huge with no deficit to quality. Cranberry scone was so tasty! Flavorful and beautifully made. Lovely crumb. Also huge! Thankful to find a place with a savory pastry even just the one! Would absolutely come back here. So rare to find a place like this. Also they are super affordable.

I absolutely adore this place. It is in the most unassuming little building, sandwiched between a busy throughway in Westbrook and apartment buildings, with very little glitz and glamour on the outside, but don't let that fool you. What's inside is SO MUCH BETTER. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and someone at the ready to take your order. They make homemade breakfast sandwiches, which come on an english muffin or one of their GIANT homemade croissants, and have a plethora of different types of pastries to choose from. From muffins, to cheesecake bombs, to lemon bars, to fancy brownies, to bismarks, there is so much to choose from. But the creme de la creme in my eyes is their cinnamon roll. Ho-Lee-Mo-Lee, you guys. I have never had a better cinnamon roll in all my life. So buttery, so soft, so flaky, with the perfect amount of cinnamon, sugar, and glaze. It is like eating a pillow of cinnamon flavored goodness. I usually will heat it up just so slightly in the microwave, 15 seconds...*chef's kiss* Keep up the good work, Baker's Bench!

This review is for their baked goods. I have never been to the location, becauseI have the most amazing friends and coworkers that buy me treats from the Baker's bench :) Yes, I am very lucky to have them in my lives. LOL EVERYTHING I have tried has been sinfully delicious. I have posted a few pictures of some of my favorite things. The carrot cake cupcake muffin...If I could eat as much as I could I totally would eat one every. single. day. The cake is "moist" (I know a lot of people hate this word, but it really is moist cake). And the frosting is sweet and cream cheesy. SOOOOOO GOOOD!!! I could eat a bucket of this frosting. The cream puff, fluffy and the sweet, but light creamy filling, simply perfect. and cheesecake! Yummy yummy cheesecake made with Maine blueberries. The cinnamon in the crust was delicious and strangely, made it lighter - but who am I kidding, it was decadent cheesecake. My favorite - carrot cake muffins/cupcakes.

Slap your Mama good. OMG, Awesome, amazing, sensational. A gastronomic grand slam. I could only eat 1/2 of my Thanksgiving Turkey Sandwich on Prarie bread. The sandwiches are so big they really can feed two hungry people. Real thick cut fresh turkey to die for. Bringing home pastries & a turkey sandwich for my wife. I have found a hidden gem. See you in 2020. BTW, the girls working are awesome & friendly. I read the owner is grumpy. She's sweet & full of smiles. I guess it's because "who can resist my cuteness.

Ahh, the sign of a butchers cleaver. I am not sure what this provokes in most people, but as I've…read moresaid before, Stephen King gives me the heebie-jeebies. So for me, the butcher cleaver represents something tasty--except for when the shmuckabaloos haven't a clue what they are doing. Fortunately, this tasty little joint, Miller's Market up in Gorham, Maine, knows what they're doing! I'd been cruising the highways, riding the coast of Vacationland for some time now, and somehow, someway, ventured a bit further inland. Once I saw the burnt-orange cleaver in the window, I knew I'd have to give it a try and see if these hullabaloos knew what they were doing. I was greeted with a "Hey, how you'rrrr doin'?" The soft, rolling extension on the r made me feel right at home in Maine. Jeezum crow, you Mainers speak funny. But by golly, you are a lovable bunch of hillbilly farmers and fisherfolk. Anywho, I ordered myself a chicken Caesar wrap--wanting to feel nourished, but not to the point of comatose. Salad in a wrap--a genius way to feel healthy. Mind over matter. "Hand-cut fries or hand-cut chips?" the counter guy asked me. Now, I love a fry, but I'm feeling crunchy in these overcast late-April days. I hesitate, and somehow this mind reader behind the counter could sense it. "I can see you want the chips, but you gotta try these fries. Why don't I give you a little of both?" he says to me. Now I'm looking at him cockeyed--just another Mainer who seems to be able to read a man's soul. Well, I am here now--no turning back. And then my eyes widen when I spot a tasty crème soda in the fridge next to the register. My lucky day. Crème soda--the most underrated of all sodas. What's not to love? Creamy and poppy all in the same bottle. This guy seems nice, and I am in no rush, so I say, "Hey, throw it on my tab. I'm going to be a while. After I eat, I'm going to write something!" I pull up a spot without paying and know that there's no expectation to do so--at least not right away. Good ol' Maine courtesy, as good as this blueberry Jalapeño salsa from Pemberton partners, which I can apparently purchase at Millers Market, where it just ain't sangys it's home goodies too. I open up my futuristic-typewriter and get to work on my latest novel, but can't seem to find a single word. I glance at the menu--buffalo chicken pesto sandwich. Hard tellin', not knowin'. Mainers--brilliant folk when it comes to food. Pesto and buffalo sauce! Never had it, but I need it. That's bound to be tasty--as warm buttah' on lobstah. "Hi, I'll take my butter with lobster, please."--how it should be ordered. Dee-EEE --licious. You Mainers are shaking your heads right now, pesto and buffalo is probably a common thing round these parts, from ya? Nope I ain't and the rest of the country is far behind on the trend of the buffalo/pesto combo, I can promise you that. Then my food is brought out to me. It looks tasty--but the fries have me skeptical.... Find out how it all turned out at https://ryanccurtis.com/blog/timeless-fries-at-millers-market/n19c63

Indoor seating was lacking, and the menu wasn't huge...but trust me, the variety was just enough to satisfy just about anyone. I ordered the smash burger, which was messy, greasy and absolutely fantastic. I got the turkey club for my kids to split (and this thing was HUGE) they didn't finish it . My wife got the Cesar wrap, and she was beyond happy with it. She even brought half back home with us. I strangely suggest going on a nice day and sitting outside, it was wonderful. (Pro-tip; if going during peak lunch, expect a wait on the food. We went into Azul Tequila and got an appetizer to go so we could eat this while waiting for our sandwiches. Honestly, it's the best of both worlds)

Looking for a Saturday morning coffee and breakfast sandwich we decided to finally check it out. Parking lot has plenty of spaces. Once inside you will see it is quite small in size, but does have a small amount of seating for those looking to eat/drink there. The menu boards were overwhelming at first but a large majority of it is their lunch sandwich/wrap offerings. I did appreciate the options you can choose from bread wise and other customizations you can make. Drink wise my wife went with The Lavender iced latte and I got the iced Snickerdoodle. Both were extremely flavorful and were well made. Either one and I suspect any of their other drink would be a no brainer to get again. Breakfast wise we each got a sausage, egg, & cheese on a bagel. Which those came out steaming hot and were made well too. Will need to return to give their breakfast burritos a try! Service was friendly and both food an drinks arrived quickly. Also another note on service, when originally ordering they forgot to discount us for a BOGO deal they have going but when I went up to grab the drinks they said they removed one of the drinks to make it right and apologized. This will be a spot my wife and I will return to for both the drinks and food. We did end grabbing 2 of the 3 window seats and do wish it had no painting on the windows so we could watch outside better. I even caught a glimpse of a quick hug shared amongst the staff- letting me know that this establishment was serving just as much love as they were tasty treats. Now me? I tend to go for darker areas, low dim lighting. But this naturally lit space still declared a cozy aura- with the browns, reds, blacks, and subtle pops of color.
