Super Beef Shawarma Sandwich with fries! Also came with a drink.
    Sara F.

Food was excellent as usual, brought my brother along and he also agrees they have some of the best shawarma here! The service is great and efficient; the people working behind the counter are so kind and helpful. The inside is very clean and well taken care of.

    Double Combo Meat Shawarma

On a recommendation of my cousin, I went here recently. I ordered a double meat shawarma with French fries. The shawarma was excellent. The beef quality was superior and there was plenty of meat. The place is very small from inside. There are literally only 2-3 bar stools. It's really meant for take out. I ordered at counter and since a stool was empty, decided to just eat there. I did end up taking a chicken shawarma for later. This place is a small mom n pop family owned business and I felt like some good ole family recipe and love was put into the ingredients. I'll be back soon again.

I've heard very good things about this place so Wanted to check it out. I was pretty disappointed. We had double combos (so a total of 4 shawarmas); 2 chicken and 2 beef. The meats were pretty dry. Was disappointed that the wraps themself were soggy. They put 2 shawarmas in each tray and didn't wrap them Ms. instead they cut them in 4s and out them on top of each other which caused them to leak over each other and get very sloppy! I personally will not be visiting this location again. The others that ate the sandwiches as well didn't like them either.

Best place to get an authentic Shawarma in NJ. Always fresh and tastes amazing. Always hits the spot. If you are in Paterson, grab yourself one or 2, you won't regret.

Authentic Syrian style shawarma, prices are fair service was fast. My only complaint this time around is the amount of fries they gave me, I've been here in the past and usually get double the amount but besides that the sandwich was tasty and fresh as usual this is one of the better shawarma places in Paterson and trust me it's very competitive out here

My new spot! Look, I know shawarma. I mean I could write a book on shawarma. This place has done it right. The authentic Syrian way. The garlic (toum) and chicken skewered and cooked so perfectly. Just perfection. Not to mention the cleanliness of the location and the kind nature of the staff. Reasonably priced. Five full stars for this restaurant. Coming back for sure.

We ordered a whole range of things including chicken kebab, chicken gyro, tahini cauliflower,…read morelabneh, and hummus. Everything was delicious, but I'll leave the food writing to the Yelpers with more sophisticated palates than I. (Actually, I take that back--the fresh-baked pita was amazing and I would eat it with/for every meal if I could.) The real reason I wanted to leave a review the service, which went above and beyond. Let me start by saying that Al Basha takeout has a wonderfully efficient order-number-based system for managing the hundreds of orders they get on a daily basis. But if, say, the person who placed the order sent you to pick up the food with the wrong order number, you're going to struggle, and that's not the restaurant's fault. With that prelude and without getting into the details, we'll just say there was a user error issue with my order that led to a mix-up and a very late pick-up. Everyone from the Al Basha staff with whom I interacted could not have handled it any better. They were very apologetic, not because they did anything wrong (to be clear, they didn't), but because they were disappointed our meal hadn't gone well and wanted to fix that. The top priority of the manager with whom I dealt was making sure that my wife--it was Mothers' Day--got the best meal possible, and made sure to send me home with fresh bread and a treat for the moms. It was true hospitality, and greatly appreciated. TLDR version: great food, excellent service, out-of-this-world pita, and make darned sure you have the right order number.

Disappointed w the mix mashawi, considering it's their signature char grilled meats. It comes with…read morefilet mignon, chicken kebab, kofta kebab, and shawarma. The chicken kebab was dry and the shawarma was a bit too sour for my liking (not sure if they squeezed lemon on it or something). The kofta was okay but nothing spectacular. The filet mignon, was a major let down. My server didn't ask how we'd like it cooked, which is medium rare for my family. It came back well done. He said everyone usually prefers it to be well done, but I think that's a mistake that shouldn't be made and preference should always be asked, especially with steak. We asked for it to be swapped, and it still came back well done. When we let them know again, they brought it back a little on the rare side, which is fine for my family, but had it been another family, not so sure. I'm sure they have hundreds of orders for the char grilled meets, so I'm a little confused on why the technique has not already been established My favorite dish had to be the makanik - which is pan seared lamb sausages finished with sweet and tangy pomegranate molasses. I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey flavor but these sausages didn't have that. I didn't taste much of the pomegranate molasses. The arugula & beet salad would've been good if the pomegranate molasses vinaigrette was less sweet. The stuffed grape leaves were also a bit too sour. The lemon was just taking over the entire flavor profile. I didn't really taste the tomato or parsley. The falafel platter was good but nothing different than other falafels that I've had. The mint lemonade was so refreshing. Almost everyone in the restaurant had one and I understand why. The mint is not overpowering I had high expectations because I've seen this place on instagram but I'm afraid they were not met. Service was good, but the food definitely needs some work. There's valet parking, which i recommend because it's hard to find street parking

They were very soft and good but could be better in terms of flavor. The chicken tikka was too salty. The bread is delicious and fresh. The fries were delicious and comes with a interesting turmeric/mustard type sauce. The pickled vegetables are an acquired taste; very salty. The quzi is lamb shank with rice and comes with either bean or okra soup. I liked the okra soup better since it had some acidity from the tomatoes. The lamb shank was very tender but I wish it came with some sauce or lemon. The rice is a bit sweet due to the rasins. The prices are a bit high but there are not many Iraqi restaurants in the region.

I went to Yasmeen with a friend as he said it's one of his favorite restaurants and it did not disappoint. We ordered the calamari to share & salmon. The calamari was good but I believe the portion could've been bigger. The salmon was also great & I loved the white sauce that accompanied albeit my friend wasn't a huge fan. Do note that the sauce is a bit on the sweeter side so it's not for everyone. In addition to the food, we also had the slush lemonade which was refreshing (despite it being 20 degrees outside haha) & the hookah (albeit the employee there didn't seem sure on how to use it for some reason) which was fine. All in all, I can see why Yasmeen is quite popular in that area.

The place had a decent amount of customers for a weekday. We sat in the front dining area where there was a large TV, good for watching the game (in our case, the world cup). The place was clean and server was friendly. We ordered 3 lunch specials that included the fattoush (house salad), mouhamarra, labneh, shish tawook (grilled chicken with rice pilaf), kufta kebab, and mint lemonade. Honestly for food, my average rating for everything would be closer to 3.5/5. The pita bread that came with the table was room temp and served in a plastic bag. I would have liked it to be at least warmed up a little before being brought out. The sides and dips were average. They lacked flavor and depth in my opinion- the labneh was simply plain, sour yogurt without any other flavor. The mouhamarrah was also average, it was a bit spicy and that was about it. Standouts from our table that were very well executed were the lentil soup, shish tawook, and yasmeen fries. The lentil soup came out steaming hot, and was very nicely seasoned. I liked that it came with crispy pieces to add texture. The shish tawook surprised me as it didnt look super special, but it was actually very good! The chicken was juicy, fell apart easily, and had that nice grill flavor. It went well with the rice and vegetables. The yasmeen fries were hot and crispy, the garlic seasoning was a very nice touch. I would've liked if my mint lemonade had more mint flavor in it but perhaps that was my bad for not ordering the slush version. The portions were pretty generous, 19.95 is a fair price for all the food we received. Overall, we had a nice experience and am glad we got to try the place out.
