On a recommendation of my cousin, I went here recently. I ordered a double meat shawarma with French fries. The shawarma was excellent. The beef quality was superior and there was plenty of meat. The place is very small from inside. There are literally only 2-3 bar stools. It's really meant for take out. I ordered at counter and since a stool was empty, decided to just eat there. I did end up taking a chicken shawarma for later. This place is a small mom n pop family owned business and I felt like some good ole family recipe and love was put into the ingredients. I've heard very good things about this place so Wanted to check it out. I was pretty disappointed. We had double combos (so a total of 4 shawarmas); 2 chicken and 2 beef. The meats were pretty dry. Was disappointed that the wraps themself were soggy. They put 2 shawarmas in each tray and didn't wrap them Ms. instead they cut them in 4s and out them on top of each other which caused them to leak over each other and get very sloppy! I went there to place an order and waited for the lady to get off the phone so she could take my order, but she didn't acknowledge me at all. 5 min. Later, another customer walks in, and she greets him in arabic and asks him if he wants to order when I am standing right in front of her. Then, after the customer tells her that he wanted to see the menu . Next, she asked me if I placed an order, and I told her I wanted to place one, and immediately, she told me we don't have it. Flawless in execution for authentic shawarma. They have a small standing bench inside to eat and three tables outside. Seems like they are big time shawarma specialists to say the least. Ask for their hot sauce. It's not really hot but it's a perfect complement to the perfect shawarma. They give u an extra garlic white sauce but you don't even need it .. they're initial formula is so perfect, no extra white sauce is needed. Came today which is one of the busiest weekends before Ramadan. Although they were extremely busy, the place was clean, staff was very welcoming, and the shawarma was delicious. This is my first time trying Nour al Sham, I've always gone to Shami instead . But after today, I think just based off of cleanliness and the staff I will be sure to come back again. The food here is really good. My friend and I got the chicken schwarma wrap, chicken schwarma platter with rice, and babaganoush. Everything was awesome. We are both American but very picky when it comes to middle eastern food. We usually eat at Al Basha but wanted to try this place since it's new and saw that the owners are recent refugees from Syria. The rice was incredible. So much flavor. A lot of cardamom which made it taste really good. I guess that's normal for Syrian rice, the chicken schwarma was moist and tender. And the wrap tasted great and the pita is thin and light. Easy to eat. Garlic sauce on side is fantastic too. And the babaganoush was good. Gonna try the schwarma meat next time and hummus. Great addition to Paterson! read more

I've given this place numerous chances. They have no regard for peoples time. Be prepared to wait an hour or more for a sandwich or two. The last time, I called to place my order. 6 sandwiches. They said it would be ready in 20 mins. I came 30 mins later and it wasn't ready. I sat there waiting for another 45 mins! And when tell them how frustrating it is, they act like your unreasonable for having to wait 1.5 hours for a sandwich. People came in and placed orders, they were told 5 mins. They were in for an hour wait. Half the "staff" (more like family kids) just stand around not knowing what to do. The food is good but not the frustrations and waste of time. read more

This is definitely one of the better tasting Shawarma's in Paterson. If you ever enjoyed Al-Safa that closed down a couple of years ago then you're definitely in for a treat. I received two giant chicken shawarma's and fries for just $12! The only thing is they put most of the vegetables on the side rather than inside the shawarma, but I'm sure you can tell them you want it inside.
