Thai curry with flavoured rice was amazing but not so much on its own. Perhaps thats what chef intended so no complaints. The nourishment bowl is pretty big and bursting with variety of flavours. I really liked the pineapple dices in it. Although i wouldn't call it nourishment as it lacked greens and had 70% of rice/quinoa. I would like to have more greens in it for sure. Pros: Excellent quality of ingredients. Quirky interiors Good service Delicious food Cons: The full plates are really huge and pricey. Introduce an option of small plates for each dish? Whether you're vegan or vegetarian or not, just know the Service is slow, not so attentive or even informative. Tiny restaurant hole wth a bar with a indie alternative vibe. Food is quite delicious, hence the 2 star but forewarned it's high priced. Drinks sound fun but unless you're an alcoholic take head as they are straight alcohol and not so easy to drink even if you think it sounds delightful. We got the nourish bowl and 420 burger which were both excellent and the chocolate cheesecake was alright and great with hemp seeds. However we both ordered drinks and couldn't even get 1/4 through. We asked for some soda pop to mix as a possible solution to keep drinking but the waitress brought watered down club soda to pour into our drinks. It was awful. Not going to come here again as the menu of the drink are only a month new and she made it out like it was our fault on the drinks and still charged us full price. Get the Num Num Nachos! We were pleasantly surprised with the mix of ingredients that wonderfully worked together to create a delicious taste! A must-get here! This place is phenomenal. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. After trying a few not so great places with high prices, we were thrilled to find this place and ended up eating here three times in a short visit. The menu was very creative and everything looked great. I'd highly recommend the king kong noodles for dinner and the veggie panini (comes with a great salad) for lunch, but I'm sure you can't go wrong at this place. Every time I am in Banff I go to Nourish multiple times for vegetarian and gluten free food and it is always consistently good. Today's meal at Nourish was as delicious as ever, with healthy and creative food. What was NOT delicious was having to watch the aging skater boy waiter hiking his shorts up way too high multiple times to show his inner thigh and groin tattoos to various customers. He seemed more interested in telling people in excruciating detail the stories behind these tattoos and the ones he planned for the future rather than doing his job. After traveling all around Canada, we were feeling rather full and heavy from all the rich meals. I suggested this vegetarian place to cleanse my palate. Hubs ordered the beyond meat burger. He told me he cant even taste the difference between the burger and real burgers. I thought the carrot? or sweet potato? inside the burger was such a nice fresh touch. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, and was so satisfied. Usually I feel guilty after eating pasta dishes, but not this night. Knowing that the sauce was made from nuts, peppers, and mushroom, made me know I was not only feeding my mouth but my body. As we were feeling a little run down, we got the flu shot and beat juice. This little hidden gem in Banff is a vegan dream! Starting with the quirky plant theme and ambience! My party the ordered the nachos to start (had strawberries and mandarins which was different) so good and locally made vegan sour cream! The ravioli and mac and cheese were divine. My fiancé and I were really excited to try Nourish Bistro as we are both vegetarians & love when we find vegetarian & vegan restaurants. We sat at the bar when we arrived & were greeted promptly by the bartender. He gave us some recommendations of beer & then we ordered some food. We ordered the cauliflower & split the Mac-n-Squeeze. The food overall was not good. The cauliflower was cold & was over cooked. The Mac-n-Squeeze had too much going on with it. Mac & Cheese is supposed to be simple with a couple additions (breadcrumbs, broccoli for example) but this one had so much too it! Peppers, carrots, kale...there was too much & the cooking was very inconsistent. Some carrots were soft, others were crunchy. Overall, we did not enjoy our meal and were very disappointed. I'm sure the other food items are great but if I had to recommend not getting anything, it would be the Mac-n-Squeeze. read more

We dined here over a year ago at the old location. The food was so good that we have to come back again. I am not vegetarian, but I would be if I could eat food this good everyday. Packed with great flavour, rich taste palette and most importantly, the mix of ingredients are so creative. The dish I like the most was the portobello mushroom, sooooo good! The burrito was pretty awesome as well. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is they don't serve the mushroom at lunch. :( This place is definitely a good place to have a light lunch. read more

Lunch started off on the wrong foot as beer on the menu was "sold out" and our first choice of the chef's curry was not available either ....grrrrrr. However, excellent service and tasty vegan dishes made up for the false start. Large portions, indoor and outdoor seating options plus great service helped Nourish Bistro to its 4th star! This place is awesome! My husband and I have made annual tradition of coming to Banff and THANK GOD for Nourish - we can eat while we're here. All of their food is amazing but a special shout out for their breakfast which they offer on the weekend. We come here for breakfast and dinner each day when we're in Banff and will continue to do so. The people who work here are super nice and there's just an overall really positive and friendly vibe. We've had the skillet for breakfast and there's basically a little bit of all the breakfast stuff in it - it's delicious! Coffee and OJ are also top-notch. Highly recommend the breakfast here. We're from NYC and have had a lot of vegan brunches and breakfasts and this is at the top of the list. 5+ stars! read more

This is a small trendy little restaurant. Mostly geared towards your 20 and 30 somethings, judging by the interior design and music. The prices are expensive and the food is moderately tasty. They say they dont take visa but they did end up taking ours. They are shameless enough to automatically include 18% to your bill for tip. This place will only bring out one order at a time. I don't know why. They said it is to encourage sharing. I don't get with the difference is. It's not like once you are full with the first dish that you share, you can cancel your next order. Its a little pretentious. We ordered the ravioli full order, which means a bigger serving for two to four people that you pay for, and it was like having an order for one person, which was upsetting. We also had the King Kong noodles and I didn't find it very tasty at all. It was super liquidy making it a little bit sloppy to eat. However it did feel good to have a vegan meal. read more

such a cool joint!!!! first off, Andy Loops, the live musician i was surprised to see, was absolutely killer.! the menu is pretty varied: beyond burger, chana masala, nachos, ravioli, salads, tacos, pizza, hummus, etc. so whatever you want, be it lunch dessert drinks or dinner, i think they offer plenty of choices. the restaurant is vegetarian, too! so although i'm vegan, my dad is not & he was able to decide b/w dairy or nondairy cheese! which i think is cool. he, a true carnivore, ordered the 27-ingredient nachos which sounded a bit too bizarre for me. He got it with the vegan, cashew-based cheese& he loved it; didnt leave a crumb behind the half ordered which was plenty. We shared the spicy chick'n fingers which I thought were okay but my dad enjoyed them a lot. I thought they were sort of dry but definitely reminiscent texturally of chicken. The sauce it came w was heavenly. Seriously. (tasted like that white Japanese sauce) For my entree I had the tempeh skillet which was really light on the tempeh, way way way too heavy on the sauce but plenty of rice. I was little disappointed in the skillet just because I couldn't taste the vegetables through the sauce & there wasnt enough vegetables or tempeh. Finally, Chris served us & he was incredible. Yum! We had almost every meal there while in Banff and liked every single thing. I don't know what the other reviews are talking about, but the buffalo cauliflower is awesome! It's interesting to order the same dish and have it come with slightly different sauce or sides when you come at different times - I guess, it just depends on who's in the kitchen! As the only vegan in the family, it felt like a 'win' for me that we chose this place for lunch. My mom, daughter and I all had the mushroom ravioli which was creamy, tasty and very filling! They gave us the option of dairy or non-dairy versions of most everything which was really helpful. They even did a half-and half dairy/non-dairy version of the amazing nachos. So delicious! I ate at nourish for every meal of the day as Nourish is the only full vegan/Vegetarian restaurant in Banff, so I tried majority of the items on the menu and every single one of them was mind blowingly flavourful. The King Kong Noodle bowl is my number 1 favourite dish I've ever tried, intense flavour I couldn't get enough. The Tempura Broccoli was super crunchy and flavourful by it self but the cashew cream and tomato sauce really made it over the top. It went way over my expectations I had for a broccoli dish. The Wild Mushroom Ravioli sauce was so good, I found myself scraping the plate to get all of it! read more

We went for my daughter's 13th birthday and the service was great, very attentive and she made great recommendations. The kids all had the bear street burger, I had the King Kong noodles, and the husband had French onion soup and the pasta special. It was all delicious. The restaurant is vegetarian, but everything can be made vegan and most items can be made gluten friendly. The wine list labels vegan, old world, and organic wines so you know what you're getting. Good local kombucha and craft Sosa's too. They have live music some nights, it wasn't too loud and the musician was very talented. The kids really enjoyed it. This is going to sound harsh, but I feel I owe it to the vegan community to give an honest review. I have been a plant based eater and cook for years and do know about vegan food. This is honestly the worst experience I've ever had at a veg restaurant. The food was shocking. It was as if the chef was a child cooking for people with the palette of a 12 year old. Even the presentation looked like it was done by a child. The food was absolutely horrible, and just gross really. But perhaps the biggest insult was the prices! I literally paid $35 to leave feeling sick to my stomach and completey upset by the experience. I have actually never been more disappointed like this by a dining experience. Being vegan, I was so excited to try this restaurant! They have a ton of vegan options available and a lot of dishes that sound great. I was disappointed to hear that they didn't have the lasagna anymore so we ordered the cauliflower, nachos and King Kong noodles. The cauliflower was bland and room temperature. We ate it because we were hungry, but I was tempted to cancel our dinners after that because it was just not good. Figured the dinners could be better though and when they came it wasn't much better. Both dishes honestly just looked sloppy. :( The nachos, like the cauliflower, were not warm and the toppings were like they were just throwing everything but the kitchen sink into it. My bf and I are all for trying new flavors and combinations but this just really does not work. The King Kong noodles was the only dish we had that actually had really good flavor. I was a little confused because I thought it would be more like a stir fry type dish but they give you so much of the coconut peanut sauce that it is like a soup. This dish actually could be amazing if they made a few tweaks, like making the veggie cuts smaller so the the textures in the dish are more consistent, and less sauce. I read several reviews where people said that the portions are too small. I feel like they actually do give a pretty good amount. We ordered the half size nachos and it was A LOT lol. Our waitress was very professional and pleasant about the situation and handled it very well which we appreciated. The barbecue and mushroom-gravy variation was a discordant confusion of flavors. There probably should have been more barbecue flavor and more dried fruit.
