Had high hopes for this but can say I was let down. Ambiance and vibe is good. Food is weird, but not in a good way in my opinion. The nachos with fruit, store bought tortilla chips, and sub par vegan queso were disappointing. The pho was pretty good though. Except it took the waiter 10 min to bring siracha. Bathroom needs a lot of TLC. Who thought it was a good idea to put the hand dryer above the toilet paper??? No one wants to use wet toilet paper. Gross. I debated about giving this review as this was one of my favorite places to eat in Banff, especially because my family has a range of gluten and vegan restrictions. In the past, we were amazed by their options and quality and size of dishes. The full nachos was a small mountain of deliciousness. What happened? While it is difficult to get solid staff in Banff's transient economy, this last time our food was mediocre, more expensive, and half the size as in the past. The service was indeed brutal, such as being informed at the END of the meal that they were out of an ingredient for a drink I ordered so would I like something else (little late don't you think). Slow in general for everything. Ironic how they configured their credit machine so tipping starts off with suggesting 18%. Maybe this was just a bad day, with afternoon staff who were under trained, unsupervised and unmotivated. However, I'm seeing increasingly uneven service and food in the rest of the recent reviews too. This place has become a gamble and the odds are not in our favour. Hope you get lucky. read more

I want to go back to banff just for some of their food! Short and sweet. amazing food. OK/chill service. Don't be in a hurry if you come here because it definately wasn't the fastest service, but the food made up for that! We got the jalapeno poppers (cashew cheese), vegan nachos (27 fresh ingredients) and the best Ravioli I have ever had. 3.5 stars - rounded up. The value is less than you'd like for the portions you get yet there seem to be some decent options. I had the poutine, green salad and crackers from the $6 menu. Their take on Poutine was the shining star, well developed flavor and it kept getting better as I ate. The green salad was well dressed but the portion and plate selection leave much to be desired. You'd expect more for the price for sure, the edible flower hardly bridges the gap for me. The crackers anchored the meal and while it may be healthy it reminded me more of something chalky and earthy than something I'd come back to. Maybe if you put olive oil on it you'd have a better time. I'm still picking it out of my teeth. I came in a service lull so only one server was around but she was trying her hardest so I won't fault them for that. I was honestly pretty 'hangry' so it took some effort not to be upset. Overpriced and very small portions, they don't have prices on any of their items and will probably not fill you up without sinking in at least $40 per person. The food was definitely not good enough to be worth that much. Checked it out because it said fully vegetarian restaurant, but you are probably better off getting anything else, like old spaghetti factory or masala Indian cuisine. As a tourist with limited time try to check out the best of what the city had to offer, I would say that I probably should have seen the red flags coming. read more

Trendy Atmosphere, Extremely high prices, small portions, ok food. We started with 2 juices ($10 each) and a half soup ($11). The juices were more than half ice. We asked to have the juices with no ice and they were strained. We ordered the nachos which were supposed to be amazing and 27 ingredients. The half order of nachos ($16) was a pile of chips with salsa, cheese, Strawberry's, pickles and zucchini. As far as I could tell, that was it (so maybe they count salt and pepper as 2 ingredients or something). They were decent, but about double the price I would expect to pay. We then had the half order of mushroom ravioli ($18) which was supposed to contain like 10 types of mushrooms (pretty exciting)! We received 8 or 9 raviolis with about 5 thin slices of mushroom on top. They tasted good, but nothing special. On the drive home, all we could talk about was how the atmosphere was cool, the menu was unique, but this must be a tourist trap as the prices were about double what they should have been. We went to the Saltlik the night before and it was tastier and a lower price (kind of strange considering it's a prime steak house) I would go back IF they lowered their prices, but at this point all I can imagine is that they are a burn and churn tourist trap. read more

I stopped in recently while I was in Banff for my birthday dinner and this was truly one of the most amazing meals my family and I had ever had. Even my sceptical omnivore daughter loved her meal! And I was really impressed by the bartender skills as they crafted my husband and I each a unique and delicious cocktail! Stay away from the nachos. I don't get why people rave about them. Most of the toppings are acidic, there is nothing gooey or smooth and the strawberries don't make it any better. Gnocchi were tasty, but a bit dense in texture, which leads me to believe they were not made onsite. We asked for bread to have with the rest of the flavorful cheese gnocchi sauce. A good 15 min later two dry pieces of toasted baguette appeared with the texture of loosely packed dirt. Sadness. The heart, soul, and only pair of eyes to make meaningful contact with guests was a tiny blond woman who was running circles around her unhelpful, utterly self absorbed colleague hiding behind the bar. She deserves a raise and profit sharing. I like good food. As a vegetarian that often leaves fewer options. This place is an unfortunate example for omnivores who want excuses. read more

New location is pretty nice. LOTS more space. The atmosphere is quite different from the old location. The new focus seems to be the bar and I know they bring DJs in some nights - I really wonder if they are focusing heavily on the night life and with a shrunken menu I'm wondering if they are moving a bit too far away from the nifty little gem they used to be. I HOPE not but time will tell. Nourish is one of 3 things I almost always do when I'm in Banff. I've NEVER had a bad dish.... I don't think I've ever even had a "meh" dish. There menu has paired down since the move, it seems to have gotten a bit more expensive too. The lunch menu seems to be a departure from the typical sharing family style model they were famous for. Although their menu is smaller, the big time favs are still there but you won't see them all day long as they seem to be split between lunch and dinner. I don't remember burgers or flatbreads but they seem to have appeared on the lunch menu. The drink menu has grown and has some yummy sounding new creations on it. We tried a couple and so far so good on that front. Last trip we went in starving and ordered 1/2 nachos and a meowtain burger with poutine to share but we finished fairly satisfied and pushed it a bit to make room for some apple pie and I ended up eating too much. With that is mind you don't need to order a lot unless you've been trekking all day and used up a lot of your reserves. I hadn't tried the nachos until this trip because I was scared of the 27 ingredients as good food is usually fairly simple. However, I did really love them. Something about pickles and strawberries baked with cheese shouldn't work.... but it was great. Now I'm craving them... ugh! The Meowtain burger is not for trying to eat with lady like bites. The patty is huge but well seasoned even though it's never the same day to day. The poutine is different than I remember - I wouldn't REALLY call it poutine (if you're seeking authentic Canadian poutine - check somewhere else) however this poutine is just a nice dish. I personally would reserve a different name... but still like it a lot. Although I haven't had them since the move other favs here include the mushroom ravioli (heavy but delicious), king kong noodles and beautiful burrito. Everything is fairly healthy. Brimming with fibre and protein. Maybe a bit fatty but even then, mostly good fats. The cocktail list is the only place you might have to set your health goals aside. Now that Nourish is street level, it night not be one of my little Banff secrets but it's still one of my highly recommened Banff favorites. read more

Such good reviews - I was dying to try it.... So we stopped so I could get a snack or try to.. I ordered coconut curry rice with Thai peanut sauce - both of which the bartender argued were "not on the menu" so I had to show him.....and the waitress... I agree with Dave and his review of the staff although my food was not good. Maybe they changed menus but didn't update anything - either way the rice that arrived was NOT coconut at all and had BIG (like the size of meatballs) balls of spice powder.... Gross. I tasted it - UNDERCOOKED TO THE EXTREME! I even asked if it was the right rice - he said yes so I took it anyways - I tried to eat around the spice grenades and with the peanut sauce (which was tasty) I was and to choke some down.... Amazing food, excellent service and warm ambience. Music wasn't too bad either :) We ordered a turmeric drink with vanilla icecream which sounds wired -I know, but tasted heavenly. We also ordered the nachos that they claim are best in the "Galaxy", I wouldn't go so far, but they were one of the best I had had. We also ordered their special burger that came "server recommended" and we were not disappointed. She also offered to get us some Siracha sauce-going by the looks I guess ;) The brownie was sub-par rest of the meal but it was fresh and that goes for all their food. I think they even grow their herbs (At least they use the planted herbs as a decor). A bit on the expensive side, but they are running a "vegetarian Bristo" in a meat country, so we didn't mind supporting them. Also, the server was placing the reservation cards out for the evening and their were quite a few, I would call and check for a table if I go their for dinner next time. read more

The food was fine but the prices were exorbitant considering the kind of ambience they maintained. The portions for the fresh squeezed juice was ridiculously small for the 8$ price tag it carried. The pizza was pretty good and I would say that it was relatively fair in terms of the size of the portion. We also had the burrito which I would say was average in terms of the taste. I wouldn't discourage anyone from checking this place out, especially if you are a vegetarian, since you will finally have an entire menu to choose from! Bon Apetit! read more

OK, before you go here you have to ask yourself a few questions: 1. Am I a millennial? 2. Do I know the difference between vinyasa and an ashram? 3. Then nourish is the spot for you! For $68 with tip, we got 2 drinks and two "half" (single) meals. Afterwards we proceed elsewhere to eat calories I could afford. I got the ravioli which was underdone and tasted about par with grocery store pastas. Kudos to the chef, the cream sauce was delicious though. The bartender brought me the wrong drink, but it was OK, so why waste food? Lucky for me my date's meal was too big for her (gnocchi) and I ravenously chowed that whilst contemplating getting more calories at subway... Walked into this place not knowing what it served but thought I would give it a shop. Truly fell in love with it and have recommended it since! I started with a wonderful sangria made with perfection in every ounce. The topping of blueberries, coconut was just heaven in a glass. For my main, I thought I would give the mac n cheese a shot. What a taste that was. Who knew something so basic could have such flavor. It was topped with tomatoes, black pepper and a side of cucumber. My sister had the nachos and my niece ordered the vegan burger. Both were raving about the flavor. I was at first hesitant with the cost of it all but I can honestly say I would go back. A good option in Banff for those with dietary restrictions. Vegan, gluten and wheat free options. I went to Nourish Bistro for dinner and then lunch the following day to try both menus. The lunch menu was much smaller than I expected, I ordered the panini with the daily soup (tomato basil with kidney beans). The panini was somewhat disappointing, it fell apart after two bites and got rather messy. For the panini they gave me a very thick slice of bread with a very thin, end piece with nothing to hold it together. Anyone who has eaten gluten-free bread knows that it can be very crumbly and falls apart easily which is exactly what happened. The thick piece of bread was also very hard around the edges...I was scared it was going to cut my lip open after the third bite :( The soup however was delicious and hearty, I was glad it was filling since I had to give up on the panini. I also tried the Beet-it juice, for $8 I was expecting a much larger glass... For dinner I tried the Mac-n-cheese (vegan and wheat/gluten free) and the cilantro caesar. No complaints about dinner, the mac-n-cheese was delicious and very filling. Service was also great, the staff are very friendly. My next trip to Banff I will definitely be back for dinner. read more

I'm giving this three stars only because I'm veg and I wanna be supportive of veg restaurants. That said this place was pretty much a massive disappointment. The food looked good the vibe seemed promising but the food was pretty lack luster at best. The poutine was made with sliced potatoes and not fries, not sure that's normal. Plus it had like salsa fresca or some crap on top and basically no or flavorless curry. I got the mushroom ravioli that now that I think of it tasted nothing like mushrooms and everything like pumpkin. The bread was borderline unappetizing. The service was very nice and friendly but we waited probably 45 minutes for our food...for ravioli...that takes maybe 5 minutes to cook. On a side note the beer was good. The prices were far from reasonable given the quality. All said I'd prob just hit another spot if give the choice again and go through the menu for something veg as usual. read more

We loved Nourish! The waitstaff was extremely friendly and accommodating for our group of 7 people, and they were always curious about what hikes and activities we did during the day. This restaurant caters to all preferences and types of cuisine, and the dishes are really unique. Especially the nachos - the 27 different toppings blend flavors together in an incredible way (who would've thought to put strawberries on nachos??). The drinks were delicious, the ambiance and music was relaxing, We went here 2 nights in a row because we couldn't get enough of it - if we ever get back to Banff, we will definitely return! read more

A perfect birthday dinner for my man! The owners are from Australia, and they're both friendly and helpful. One of them even offered my boyfriend a comped dessert for his birthday, which was much appreciated. The drinks are unique and tasty, and the food is great! We had burgers, poutine (it was the best vegan poutine we found in Canada!), dumplings, and wild mushroom ravioli. This was by far the most disappointing dinner we've spent money on in a long while. We have come here before and been happy with the food, however the service has always been slow. This time, we were sat, and did not see a server for 25 minutes. I ended up having to walk up to the bar, where there were two servers drying glasses, and interrupted their conversation to ask for service. What we ate- Nachos- always a favourite when we visit, they were just as expected Cauliflower- not super interesting Mac and squeeze- a go to dish King Kong noodles- when I read King Kong noodles, I think of a big bowl, filled with noodles and veggies with a delicious peanut dressing. It was basically a peanut sauce soup with a small handful of super skinny rice noodles and a **few** vegetables. Very disappointing Burrito- for some reason the burrito came out about 10 minutes after the rest of the food was delivered. The burrito was good according to my father in law, however we were all almost done eating by the time he had his first bite. All in all, this dinner took us about 2 hours. The restaurant wasn't even at capacity and the staff had enough time to carry on full conversations with each other by the bar and servers station. This place is amazing! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and super accommodating to vegans/ veggies etc! Also, great selection of dark beers. I had the king noodles, which were pretty darn good but the real kicker was the mushroom ravioli. Not a vegan item, but I had a bite of the dish, and it was probably the best pasta I have ever had. Our party agreed upon it, the only thing was the half portion of this (in comparison to other half portions) is wayyy too small. Definitely recommend going here!! read more

Nourish provides delectably delicious vegetarian meals. There are Vegan and/or Gluten-free options. Plus they are awesome avoiding any food-allergies of which you inform them. Great food, warm-want-to-stay-forever atmosphere, friendly huggable staff, large portions, cool music. I have eaten here every day of my visit to Banff. So far, I have had the Mac & Squeeze (choice of vegan or cow cheese), 420 Burger, Thai Vegetable Curry, Chai Hot Chocolate, and specialty teas. I am going back tomorrow before I leave.
