Our meal at Nourish tonight may have been the single best dinner experience my girlfriend and I have ever had. I'm a meat eater, so coming to a vegetarian/vegan restaurant was our of my norm, but I was shocked by how great the food was! We shared the nachos to start, and they were amazing. Never thought quinoa on nachos would make sense! For our entrees I had the Kimchi Burger and the Mrs. had their Bear Street Burger, both were fantastic! Nourish has a full menu of specialty cocktails, so of course we had to try a few. I had their Canada Day tequila Caeser, Caleb's Cereal Thingy (photo included) and a special plum drink they recommended that wasn't on the menu yet! The finishing touch to our night was the service though, which greatly elevated our experience. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, and by the end of the meal we had shared stories, experiences and lots of laughs. We'll be going back for lunch tomorrow! read more

Trying to accommodate a vegan diet and a gluten free diet for two different people can make for some tough dining choices. But not if you go to Nourish Bistro in Banff! This funky spot is located in the downtown area of Banff, easily walkable from any of the shops you may have dropped some cash! We were immediately seated for dinner along the wall. We admired our neighbors' food and fresh everything looked. I got a local cider to start and my friend got a fresh pressed apple juice. Let me just say that her apple juice was the best I've ever had! Nourish has those commercial brands beat! The waiter (Evan-super friendly and from Australia) was great and explained the menu to us. There is various coding on the menu to explain vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. Anything can be made to accommodate your dietary need which is really awesome. Everything is made fresh and to order so you get to sit and enjoy the meal as it is prepared and ready. My friend and I decided to start with raw bread with vegan cashew cheese. I was pleasantly surprised with the vegan cheese and how yummy it was slathered on the bread. We also decided to share the beautiful burrito and the King Kong noodles. Both were delicious but I really loved the noodles. It had this savory coconut milk broth that had some kick to it. I wasn't sure how full I would be after eating here but I definitely was stuffed but in a good and non disgusting way! They made a good effort! I went into this meal thinking it would be great, but was very disappointed. - Spicy cauliflower had no real flavour beyond just being spicy. - nachos were okay. They were going for something very unique, and it is...however, the flavours combined are alright - wasn't blown away. - the Thai panaang soup and the macaroni were good. Probably my the best part of our meal. - the spinach, chickpea and tofu curry was terrible. It was also obviously forgotten about, as I received it when our meal was over.... Cold rice, warm-ish curry and super hot naan! Lol The naan was delicious. The rest of it, not great. When visiting Banff I wouldn't go back. With all the choices in Banff; I rank it in the top ten for simple, quaint ambience, excellent servers and food that is absolutely delicious. Some of my favourites are... MOUNTAIN BREAKFAST SKILLET Chickpea omelette, beyond meat sausage, roasted roma tomato, garlic butter mushroom, olive oil-lemon arugula, harissa hash browns and locally made sourdough, all served on a hot skillet w' a roasted tomato salsa. WORLD FAMOUS NACHOS Their nachos come fully loaded with over 27 ingredients. Everything from beans and quinoa to dill pickles and strawberries. Topped with vegan queso or cheddar and monterey jack cheese. You haven't had nachos till you've tried our nachos! HUMMUS TRIO Three flavours of house made hummus with local herbed focaccia. Both the kimchi burger and King Kong noodles caught his eye, but our enthusiastic server was able to help him make a choice. I got the raw vegetable pesto bowl expecting (moderate) blandness, given its rawness. However, it was so delicious and flavor packed even my dad wanted a second bite! The soup was served literally in a cup, but nothing too special. The kombucha, though, tasted super sweet knowing it's homemade! I went with a friend on August 22nd here on a whim and she doesn't eat meat or fish. I have to admit, at first I was a little concerned since I had read a few of the reviews and they are a healthy mix which I totally appreciate :-) The above said, we went through the menu and asked a lot of questions to get a better idea as to what our server recommended based on his palate. He was good enough to tell us to order the Super Food Salad (it serves 2) and the Halloumi Sliders (and not subsitute with what is offered as an option). We did this and were very happy with our flavourful meals that left us with enough room for dessert :-9 We ordered the Cheeseless Chocolate Cheesecake and the Truffles. The cheesecake was VERY good; creamy and a really deep cocoa flavour melting in your mouth. The truffles were also good, however, the lemon truffle was very bland and overwhelmed by the chocolate and coconut one that accompanied it. The cocktails were quite good as well...the Beets Prohibition was delicious and was very flavourful and I enjoyed the featured beer with a scoop of peach sorbetto -- on a warm evening was JUST what I needed :-) Will definitely go again when I am back in Banff....this winter to try the dishes for the winter season will be in order for sure :-) read more

You know, I want to like Nourish, but I can't. I love vegetarian and vegen food but Nourish doesn't really do vegetarians any favors. I had the burrito and my husband had the pho. My friends had the curry and we were all unimpressed. I'd give my burrito a 3.5/5 but the pho was just bad. It was sweet and had no flavor. It was basically sugar water with noodles that aren't traditional pho noodles. Instead of using pho noodles, they used vermicelli. Um.... Don't call it pho if you're not even using it's namesake noodles. Anyway, my burrito was dry and the salsa was generous and helped with the dryness. My friends thought their curry was only OK. Price wise, it was hella expensive with each dish nearing $20. There are so many wonderful eats in Banff but you can seriously skip Nourish. If you're vegetarian, just get Subway instead. read more

Disappointing :( Sadly this is the only word that comes to my mind when thinking about Nourish Bistro. In this beautiful city, on this eclectic road, with this diverse menu, we just found ourselves disappointed all around. Staff - Being a beautiful day in downtown Banff we wanted to sit outside, and they perfectly offer some tables with large umbrellas to keep the searing sun off. We politely asked for one of these tables and was ushered to a nice shaded table. A few minutes later another table asked the staff member if they could have an umbrella and the employee whisked away our comforting cover. We moved ourselves to a tiny little table where if we uncomfortably bent over we could shade a small portion of our bodies. Outside of that, the staff wasn't rude, but not exactly friendly. We appeared as random customers taking up tables that they would like to use for others. Food - We ordered their take on the famous Canadian dish Poutine and the so-called World Famous Nachos. The poutine is curry flavored, covered in cheese, and topped with a strawberry salsa. To be honest it felt just like ordering cheese fries at home with a fruit glaze that didn't quite work for us. The only difference was the $14 price of the medium sized dish. Next was the nachos. They boast to load this dish with over 27 different toppings. Unfortunately, we found ourselves saying that we wished they had used less toppings, and toppings that actually work together. Our taste buds were extremely confused, and not very happy with us. The crunchy chips are covered with beans and quinoa which is great, but then they added on pickles, strawberries, various nuts, seeds, oranges, and more. It felt like they just went through the kitchen throwing anything they could find and hoping that it would be good. For us, it just didn't come together and work out. Plus, for $25 it just went back to that word, disappointing. Maybe Nourish just isn't for us. We ended up finding many other places to nourish our stomachs. It's always great to find a dedicated vegetarian restaurant, especially when you're on vacation. We arrived just in time before the dinner rush and were able to get a nice seat indoors (it was too cold and windy to sit outside), though it's clearly a popular option in Banff and many tables were reserved. The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes from several cuisines and offers vegan options for many of the items. The friends I was with prefer to opt for vegan substitutions, so we chose the vegan versions for our order. Our waiter was so helpful in explaining the menu and letting us know about the vegan options, and he was very attentive throughout the meal to make sure we were happy with our selections. We were very excited to try the poutine, but a little hesitant about the strawberry salsa, so we asked for it on the side. The fries come covered in a flavorful curry sauce with creamy vegan cheese. The strawberry salsa was surprisingly not too sweet, and fit right into the dish. For the entrees, we chose to share the Wild Mushroom Ravioli and Mac n Squeeze between the three of us. The sauce for the ravioli was incredible, flavored with red pepper, garlic, and lavender! The hint of lavender that came through went really well with the red pepper and mushrooms in the dish. For the Mac n Squeeze, we asked for the vegan version that had gnocchi instead of quinoa noodles. The sauce had a curry undertone, similar to the poutine sauce, which tasted great with gnocchi, and the kale chips on top were an awesome texture for the dish. We just had the most fantastic breakfast at Nourish. Caleb, the chef and owner, welcomed us personally and shared great stories and conversation with us. The breakfast menu is creative and adventurous while still scratching the itch for a classic pancakes and eggs brunch. The tea selection was amazing compared to most cafés - we had a vanilla coconut white tea and the chili chai hot chocolate. Everything came with incredible presentation. Caleb has clearly injected a lot of his humor and personality in the space, which makes for an excellent ambiance. Lovely little place in town with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options for all! They also have an extensive drinks menu (alcoholic and nonalcoholic). We ordered the spicy lentil soup, the gyoza, the jalapeño poppers(with vegan cream cheese), and the hummus trio to share between three people and it was plenty. Beware the jalapeño poppers. Each pepper is different so if you take a bite and it is super spicy (like we did) don't write off the entire dish. We had one super hot pepper and the rest were normal-so delicious! All of the dishes were great and the presentation was beautiful. The hummus trio comes with delicious bread, beet hummus, a roasted red pepper hummus, and a carrot and turmeric hummus. The lentil soup was very tasty as well. We ordered a passionfruit juice which was very refreshing and was not watered down at all. It was really delicious! GREAT restaurant if you're vegan or vegetarian with a lot of really good options! It's more on the pricey side in terms of you pay more than the amount that you get, but my dad and I split the wild mushroom ravioli and a cup of soup and it was really yummy and pretty filling! All of their food tastes so fresh and flavorful, and I got their blackberry kombucha on tap which was delicious!! My beautiful wife and I came here on a recent trip to Banff, Canada. The place is very clean and easy to find. Banff is a very tiny touristy town so parking and walking is best. This is a Vegan restaurant. No meat of any kind here or even eggs. No Dairy also. We had the special of the day which was a large dish of rice, veggies, and a nice creamy sauce. It was very filling. Wow! If you're going to do a vegetarian restaurant this is the way to do it! My husband and I are not vegetarians but thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant from the drinks to the food! I got the summer drink special "kiss my spicy melons" which was ridiculously good! I've tried to recreate it at home but have not gotten it quite as good as the bartender did. Speaking of the bartender, he was very nice to talk to. We enjoyed visiting with him. I ordered the ravioli dish; it was so yummy and creamy! My husband ordered the beyond burger and really enjoyed it. My favorite part of the meal was the fries with the Cajun sauce. Thai curry with flavoured rice was amazing but not so much on its own. Perhaps thats what chef intended so no complaints. The nourishment bowl is pretty big and bursting with variety of flavours. I really liked the pineapple dices in it. Although i wouldn't call it nourishment as it lacked greens and had 70% of rice/quinoa. I would like to have more greens in it for sure. Whether you're vegan or vegetarian or not, just know the Service is slow, not so attentive or even informative. Tiny restaurant hole wth a bar with a indie alternative vibe. Food is quite delicious, hence the 2 star but forewarned it's high priced. Drinks sound fun but unless you're an alcoholic take head as they are straight alcohol and not so easy to drink even if you think it sounds delightful. We got the nourish bowl and 420 burger which were both excellent and the chocolate cheesecake was alright and great with hemp seeds. However we both ordered drinks and couldn't even get 1/4 through. We asked for some soda pop to mix as a possible solution to keep drinking but the waitress brought watered down club soda to pour into our drinks. It was awful. Not going to come here again as the menu of the drink are only a month new and she made it out like it was our fault on the drinks and still charged us full price.
