I went to try to get a slice of their Chocolate Truffle cake, but since they were sold out by Sunday afternoon, I opted for their version of a hostess cupcake, and their butter cookies with chocolate icing blossoms. ------ FOOD: Hostess Cupcake (3.5/5) I personally found the cupcake to be a bit dry and the whipped cream to be too airy. The chocolate ganache topping on the cupcake was fantastic though, but wasn't enough to save this dessert. Butter cookies with Chocolate Icing (3/5) It wasn't bad but the butter cookie wasn't as rich and melt-in-your mouth as I would have liked. The chocolate icing was a bit too sweet and didn't have a deep chocolate flavor. I'm sure there are some delicious treats here as well that I'll need to try eventually if I'm ever in the area. ------ SERVICE: I spoke with a lady on the phone who was very kind and helpful, but the gentleman at the counter unfortunately wasn't able to provide any recommendations and couldn't manage the line well. The lady on the phone also told me they had the chocolate cake available which is the only reason why we drove out of our way to come here. ------ ENVIRONMENT: There are a few tables inside, outside, and nearby if you'd like to enjoy your treats nearby. The bakery itself is relatively spacious inside.

I was asked by 2 different baristas if I had "really" asked for it iced. I understand the frustration of having to redo something but the way it was approached was disappointing. Once I received the coffee it was okay. I had come with others who did not like the hot mocha. Very little chocolate flavoring. The allergen friendly options were disappointing. They had several but they all had multiple allergens and were stored together. There was an almond cookie, walnut brownie and a sesame pastry all stored within the same container. As someone with allergies that cannot have cross contamination having all of the options in the same case was upsetting. I cannot have sesame and someone else I was with has a nut allergy while also being gluten free. The atmosphere was quiet. There were several regulars asking where people were traveling from and a nice back patio to enjoy the coffee. It was a beautiful town to walk around but for the future I will check out another one of the available coffee shops on the same block.

My sister was cold and really didn't want to have to sit outdoors so we almost opted for to go food, but ultimately chose to dine anyways, and I'm so glad we did. I'll start by saying EVERYTHING was incredible. From the food down to the service we received. All of the staff we interacted with during our time there were very kind and attentive. For starters, when we arrived, I told our waitress we had a dog and she directed us to a table on their "indoor patio ", so we we're basically sat indoors, which was really nice. We weren't cold at all, and had we been, it looked like they had overhead heaters! We ordered their bread service, the warm trout dip, truffle fries, steak & frites, the burger, mussels/clams, the chocolate tart and creme brûlée. It was all delicious. While eating our appetizers, our poor pup got sick and threw up under the table :( we tried to discreetly clean it and felt really embarrassed. Entrées came out a few minutes later, and while eating our entrées, it happened a second time. At that point, we were ready to ask for the food to go, because we were feeling so thoroughly embarrassed. As I started cleaning the vomit a second time, our kind waitress came over and told me she would take care of it. I apologized repeatedly, and we felt sooo bad. She was so kind, and gracious towards us, telling us it was okay. I never got her name, but I wanted to let her know just how much we really appreciated her assistance and for not making us feel worse about what had happened. The way she handled the situation, was the epitome of dog friendly service. I'm not sure why our pup was so sick at the restaurant. My guess is he may have swallowed some water while playing at the beach. I just really wanted to express my gratitude for you all allowing us to enjoy a nice meal and continuously treating us kindly and respectfully after our poor boy got sick in your restaurant. Thank you again! If you're looking for a restaurant with delicious food, great ambiance and even better service, THIS IS IT

We have tried all sorts of dishes and our selections rarely miss the mark. The choose-your-own adventure style of the menu is perfect for couples who like to sample multiple things. Favorites include the glazed oysters, branzini fish, filet of beef. Absolutely must try the chocolate soufflé. I am partial to the cheese cart but could skip this if you're not super hungry as the timing of this is right before the rest of desserts come, and you will definitely need to leave some room. The take-home treat for the morning is such a special and appreciated touch. This SF institution is one of the greats.

My favorite thing about this restaurant is how they do their tasting menu. 1) not everyone in your party has to order the same amount of dishes. They will time the dishes as best as they can so no one is sitting there awkwardly without food in front of them. 2) there's no real structure to the tasting menu. You can order all main courses or all desserts, it's up to you! I usually do 1 started, 1 seafood, and 1 meat dish and I'm stuffed. We usually have one person order one more course so we can all share a dessert. But if you don't have a strong sweet tooth, they do give small complementary dessert bites at the end. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and plated beautifully! The staff was attentive and the vibe of the restaurant felt elegant without trying too hard.

There were plenty of craft vendors and food vendors, organized space-wise by category: craft vendors were closer to the entrance, food vendors were farther in. My favorites from the craft side were the amount of curated clothes sellers!! Soooo many cute jackets, dresses, tops, skirts, shoes, and bags. There were also a couple music stages playing music -- I liked that they had enough space between them so the sound didn't overlap when you were trying to listen to the artist(s) at either stage. The stage in the back was more of a DJ set, playing house music, and the stage in front had live music -- they had a full band and even a group playing an Irish jig earlier in the day, which was very fun. There were plenty of alcohol stations all around -- in the back, in the front, lining the whole perimeter of the event. There was also a good variety of crafts and a solid selection of food vendors. My only wish is that there had been more sweet options because there were tons of savory options. But overall, everything was very diverse, looked great, and was interesting and unique -- you had Nepali food, Indonesian food, Indian food, Mexican food, etc. -- very ethnically diverse. Overall, I think this is a great event and opportunity to spend time with loved ones (fun for adults and families alike!), grab a bite, and support local businesses! The friend I came with said the market has grown so much since before the pandemic, so it's lovely to see the community show up and show out for this. I hope OTG and WCC continue to host this market! Capelo's Barbecue: My friend and I ordered from Capelo's Barbecue's food truck. We got the 3-meat plate with beef brisket, pork ribs, and BBQ smoked chicken. First -- that line was hella long. We waited about 30 minutes (not including the wait after for the food), but it was fun since I had my friend to talk to. The layout of the menu and pricing were quite clear, so it was easy to decide what we wanted while we waited in line. Also, no dedicated seating area for the truck (night market!). The meats: beef brisket and pork ribs were an extra $2 each on the meat plate. The beef brisket was my favorite -- super smoky and so tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth, but not mushy. Just the perfect texture. Honestly, I wish it had a little more salt to add another layer of flavor besides just meat and smoke, but I still enjoyed the heck out of that brisket. The pork ribs were solid -- not the most amazing ribs I've ever had, but good flavor and texture. They weren't fall-off-the-bone tender, but they had a satisfying chew. I had to put some effort into tearin' the flesh from the bone with my teeth (as you do with ribs), and I liked that. The BBQ smoked chicken? Honestly, nothing special. It was a good, neutral option compared to the brisket and ribs, but the main flavor I picked up was black pepper. Solid chicken breast, but nothing memorable. Even the skin was meh. For the sides, we chose the baked beans and mac and cheese. The baked beans were wonderfully sweet and savory -- they paired perfectly with the BBQ. The mac and cheese was good and worked well with everything, but it wasn't particularly special on its own. Altogether, I think we paid around $32 for the plate. If I hadn't been splitting it with another person, honestly, I don't know if it would've been worth it -- but it was good in the moment. Quite tasty overall.

It has a nice view of the bay with windows all around. We started with the clam chowder in a bread bowl which was on par as expected in this part of SF. I really don't like clam chowder but it was great! The shrimp cocktail, however, was very disappointing. It's served it an outdated container with a slew of lettuce as the cocktail sauce hides in the middle. The shrimp weren't bad but the whole thing felt dated and overpriced. The platter is great but it's not what you may think for a seafood spot. It's like eating a straightforward seafood boil lol. Gloves, butter, container for your shells included. Overall, would I come back? Yes, but to pig out not for a fancy seafood dinner. Would I recommend it to a friend? Sure!

If you are a tourist walking around, you don't want to take your leftovers. Meals are easily shareable. Shrimp and chips = probably the most disappointing of our dishes, the shrimp did not feel fresh and were on smaller side. Fries are good, but again, too much. This was my dish, and I also should have planned differently, a little green salad with it would probably have helped! Fish and chips = AMAZING - the fish was incredible, tasted like it was just caught that morning. I will say this one piece of fish could have fed two of us and again, the fries were plentiful. I think they serve a kids size and that would have been a better portion for my son. But this way we all got to enjoy it! It was tasty, this will be my go-to next time, so yummy. Softshell crab = AMAZING - again, really good, HUGE crabs, they were really large, and very delicious. The staff here are lovely, were very attentive to our needs. Of all the places, this was the best staffed and they were wonderful! The restaurant decor takes you back - it felt clean, windows were a bit tough to see out of where we sat, but its the ocean - it happens! Overall, we will back and look forward to our next meal.
