Night Market: Hosted as a monthly collab by Off the Grid and West Coast Craft -- this night market (7/18/25 specifically) was very well organized and super lively. There were plenty of craft vendors and food vendors, organized space-wise by category: craft vendors were closer to the entrance, food vendors were farther in. My favorites from the craft side were the amount of curated clothes sellers!! Soooo many cute jackets, dresses, tops, skirts, shoes, and bags. There were also a couple music stages playing music -- I liked that they had enough space between them so the sound didn't overlap when you were trying to listen to the artist(s) at either stage. The stage in the back was more of a DJ set, playing house music, and the stage in front had live music -- they had a full band and even a group playing an Irish jig earlier in the day, which was very fun. There were plenty of alcohol stations all around -- in the back, in the front, lining the whole perimeter of the event. There was also a good variety of crafts and a solid selection of food vendors. My only wish is that there had been more sweet options because there were tons of savory options. But overall, everything was very diverse, looked great, and was interesting and unique -- you had Nepali food, Indonesian food, Indian food, Mexican food, etc. -- very ethnically diverse. Overall, I think this is a great event and opportunity to spend time with loved ones (fun for adults and families alike!), grab a bite, and support local businesses! The friend I came with said the market has grown so much since before the pandemic, so it's lovely to see the community show up and show out for this. I hope OTG and WCC continue to host this market! Capelo's Barbecue: My friend and I ordered from Capelo's Barbecue's food truck. We got the 3-meat plate with beef brisket, pork ribs, and BBQ smoked chicken. First -- that line was hella long. We waited about 30 minutes (not including the wait after for the food), but it was fun since I had my friend to talk to. The layout of the menu and pricing were quite clear, so it was easy to decide what we wanted while we waited in line. Also, no dedicated seating area for the truck (night market!). The meats: beef brisket and pork ribs were an extra $2 each on the meat plate. The beef brisket was my favorite -- super smoky and so tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth, but not mushy. Just the perfect texture. Honestly, I wish it had a little more salt to add another layer of flavor besides just meat and smoke, but I still enjoyed the heck out of that brisket. The pork ribs were solid -- not the most amazing ribs I've ever had, but good flavor and texture. They weren't fall-off-the-bone tender, but they had a satisfying chew. I had to put some effort into tearin' the flesh from the bone with my teeth (as you do with ribs), and I liked that. The BBQ smoked chicken? Honestly, nothing special. It was a good, neutral option compared to the brisket and ribs, but the main flavor I picked up was black pepper. Solid chicken breast, but nothing memorable. Even the skin was meh. For the sides, we chose the baked beans and mac and cheese. The baked beans were wonderfully sweet and savory -- they paired perfectly with the BBQ. The mac and cheese was good and worked well with everything, but it wasn't particularly special on its own. Altogether, I think we paid around $32 for the plate. If I hadn't been splitting it with another person, honestly, I don't know if it would've been worth it -- but it was good in the moment. Quite tasty overall. read more

Attended the last OtG for the year and it was well organized and full of holiday spirit even with the rain. West Coast Craft coincided and it was moved indoors due to the weather which was nice. There were two full floors of vendors and a great dj spinning all the old school jams. Foodwise the trucks were organized in a square so you can quickly scan the options. There were also awnings to eat under and also seating areas inside Fort Mason and a nice snowflake projection. Had a great time, would come back. read more

Off the Grid at Fort Mason is a seasonal event, usually for a few months at a time (spring & fall) & last night was there last event until next year. The team last night was kimchi and K-pop. There was a DJ spinning K-pop music (BlackPink, BTS, Psy, etc.) & Korean themed food items from vendors. It was pretty fun. I've been to taco competitions & other themed events at OTG too. There's always live music or a DJ, a bar in the middle (my favorite drink is the hot cider with rum). Bathrooms are located in Building C. I'm looking forward to the next season of OTG at Fort Mason. I came during noodle fight night (9/15) with a friend to check out OTG for the first time ever and it was an unexpectedly scenic walk having never been at Fort Mason before. My friend got a couple pupusas and said they were solid - I would say the same about my garlic noodles from An The Go. As much as I've enjoyed Lilikoi Boba in the past, their prices at these food truck/remote events are outrageous and I can't justify spending as much on a boba as I would on a meal AKA pass on them. The seating to attendees ratio was super bad so be prepared to take your food elsewhere or eat while standing. Since OTG is on the water in the evening it was also very windy and chilly. Highly recommend bringing a hair tie if you have long hair and bringing a jacket if you are a human. There were a few heat lamps set up but not on when I was there between 5-6? Not sure if/when those go on but they were of no help. Most trucks had a small line but nothing too crazy. I think I waited max 20 minutes between getting in line for my garlic noods and receiving my food. I would like the trucks to sell smaller portions, or at least provide the option to, so that I had the opportunity to eat from more than one truck without blowing out both my wallet and my stomach. Maybe OTG would've been more fun with a larger group so we could do a family style meal, but then seating would've been a big issue. Overall, OTG: Fort Mason is a fun way to kill an hour or two but certainly not a foodie destination to go out of your way for. It's surrounded by scenic waterfront walks to help you work off all that food you just ate - just remember to bring a jacket! read more

OTG Fort Mason is always a good time. It's literally a whole thing - From the atmosphere to the food it's definitely a show stopper. Came for Filipino night to replenish my soul. Adobo tacos and ube cheesecake? Say whaaaa?!? First up was a drink because I need it. I mean who doesn't need a drink after a week of grinding at work. Pro tip: stick to the beer. The cocktails are premade and not shaken so they are super sweet. The adobo taco was ehhhh. Messy and dry. The lines do get pretty long so divide and conquer. The ube cheesecake was super thick and way too rich for my blood. If I didn't like the food then why a 4? Because OTG is a guaranteed good time. The food does rotate so try try again! Visited this past weekend to meet up with a friend who was in town. Even though I am a Bay Area native, I had never been to Fort Mason before until my move back up to the East Bay. I was able to secure a really good parking spot across the street (remember to read the street signs). It was a short walk to one of the entrances of the food truck court. The event in itself was bigger than I had imagined (though I didn't really know what to expect other than a few food trucks to be there). There were a good amount of people, dogs, food trucks, beverage stands, places to sit, heat lamps, bonfires, and a stage with live music. People can choose to hangout on the ground level where everything was at or grab their food and take it up the hill that overlooks the event space. The lines for some of the food trucks can look long, but everything is probably worth the wait. We chose a line that was shorter due to time as we were going to head out to another event by 9pm. I was pleasantly surprised to see a unique selection of food truck vendors - from Singaporean, Italian, Mexican, American, Desserts, Japanese, etc. I didn't get to do a full walk around, but would consider coming back here if I were going to be in the city. 3/31/23 Friday at 8:30 pm, I hung out in a group of 5. Parking inside the parking lot was easy. My favorite part was the live music. I walked around the different stalls and settled for junk mail musubi (chicken karaage), a beef & dates pie, and a senior sisig tosilog burrito. They ran out of sweet pork, so they replaced it with grilled pork. I recommend looking the vendors up in advance. The apparent part I'm finding out is that the closer to 10 pm when the food market closes, the higher likelihood that I will be out. I had a good time and will come back. read more

What a beautifully run event! I love the variety of food, music, and people. It's a straight up food party with fun beats and so much food to try, nestled in beautiful Fort Mason. They even got a projector and streamed the Warriors game on the side of a truck, it was brilliant and added to the atmosphere. You can pay for special reserved seating in a central area or just walk around and try to find an open seat. I'm amazed this happens every Friday and can't believe I haven't come out to it before! What a great way to celebrate the Block Party last Friday night at Fort Mason's Off the Grid!! But not too special though. All I see are over 26 different food truck companies, a music stage that plays 94.9 KISS FM, and a pair of female acrobats in high stilts. There were few outdoor games to play such as the big Connect 4. Would be special if the faces of the Yelp elites were in my sights. I'm here to choose 3 food trucks all to burn some time before I head back home. I started off with Polynesian P.O.G. (passion fruit, orange, and guava) from Kiss My Boba, Hella Vegan Rice Bowl from Curry Up Now, and the açaí bowl from Brazuca Grill. The plant-based rice bowl was so filling that it's a good time to jump down to some dessert. It's great to see everyone talking and laughing during those times. That kept me motivated. There're so many food trucks to choose from. If I had my way, I would choose a food truck company whose country had been heard the least. A good way to challenge your palate. read more

Came to this Off the Grid event on a Friday evening to grab some dinner. Parking was easy to find 1-2 blocks away in the marina neighborhood (free street parking), though they also have parking at the Fort Mason Center, I saw cars driving in.  The food trucks and stands were lined up in a square inside Fort Mason Center, with a stage at one end (dj/live music), and a bar, wine tent, and a couple smaller food tents in the middle. Also near the stage was a bit of seating, but not even close to being enough for the giant crowds. Luckily there weren't huge lines around 6pm, Unfortunately, some trucks were just slow with the service, ie. Respectable Bird (okay, service was slow, but the chicken tenders were juicy and delicious, and the waffle fries had great flavor as well). We also got some snacks from a couple other food tents. The quail eggs and lobster balls from Street Stix were just okay (probably wouldn't get the quail eggs again). And the savory hand pies from Edith's Pies were better than expected. They were like oversized empanadas. We tried the Greek Cauliflower and Chorizo, Potato, and Pepper, and both had a nice flaky crust, and were filled with delicious ingredients that hit the spot. I also didn't see the wine truck till later, so we ended up getting a couple drinks from the bar instead, the North Point Negroni and Bourbon Peach Tea (the latter was my fave, a nice balanced sweetness). Overall, I liked the options for food offered here, though the variety wasn't too extensive compared to similar events. The amount of seating or even tables to stand at was pitiful. The crowds were as expected, and the atmosphere was cool and casual, not too rowdy but lively enough to enjoy the entertainment while devouring some good eats. read more

Came here with a bunch of friends last Friday evening after work! This spot has a wide variety of food trucks to choose from! I ended up trying the spicy chicken noodles from Momo and they were amazing - perfect for a chilly evening! For dessert, we tried the churro sampler and a hot chocolate from Dessert Churreria and it was pretty good! A bunch of my friends got ice cream from Humphry Slocombe, which they really enjoyed! Since this place is near the water, it gets pretty windy/chilly in the evenings, so I'd definitely recommend bringing jackets! The only thing that was missing is seating - I wish there was a seating area that I could bring all of my food/drinks to. I felt like it was a bit hard to eat while standing if you have both food and drinks. Nevertheless, I will definitely be back here again to try more of the unique food offerings! read more

Really cool spot to spend a Friday evening! Lots of food truck options from various cuisines, although lines are long for most of them. The music and atmosphere was lively, and the view of the sunset made it even better! The place was packed so it was hard to find seats when eating. Also, the decorations for the Mid Autumn Moon festival were cute, including the lights and lanterns! Friday night entertainment for the whole family, friends, impress your new date. If they aren't enjoying this, Red Flag! Convinced a friend from New Mexico that this was a quintessential San Francisco experience. It was. First, a beeline to Cousin's Lobster Truck. Got the Connecticut roll with butter sauce. The New England roll uses mayo, which I despise. The menu also offers lobster tots, tacos, claw in shell. I'm a purist, give me the roll please. Now we need a drink. The only bar was a sad affair with canned wine & pre-poured beer. (Thus the 4 instead of 5 star review). Didn't see other bar tents, but there was a VIP section that seemed to be having a good time. Being full didn't stop us from moving on to bbq chicken at Capelos truck. Surprisingly large dinner, meat tender & juicy. Because of the wine perhaps, I put down the container & forgot it somewhere. Still don't know. Early on there was god awful recorded techno rap. As soon as the live band started up, things got lively & my friend was one of a handful brave enough to hit the dance floor. Dance away- something you'll learn when you get older and realize nobody cares what you do or how you do it, as long as nobody gets hurt. Oh, and the band gave away blinking tiaras & head wreaths, helping the party atmosphere. We left around 8, after watching an awesome performance by SF Cheer. Coming here is practically one of the favorite reasons why I love SF. There's so much culture in this area and there's so many amazing events that gravitates me to come. Off-the-Grid basically starts at 5:00pm and will end at 10:00pm every Friday from a certain time period so this would be a good opportunity to go! It's also great to go with friends and just chill out too. If you want to avoid long lines, make sure you come at 5:00pm! It can get really crowded at night, but it's so nice to see so many people again after a wait from COVID. And it's a fun culture as well in the Marina. Arriving around 5:30 with sunshine before the fog and cool air arrived later, we had some great eats at the Korean Bobcha and Cousin's Lobster trucks. It's been awhile since we've been back to Off the Grid at Fort Mason but they definitely have made some improvements. Being that it's in SF, having free parking that's easy to find is a huge plus. The event is free admission and easy to navigate. They have plenty of seating now so you can stay to listen to music, huddle around fire places, and buy as you eat instead of buying everything before going to find a seat. You can chill by the pier or go up the stairs to get a better view of the Bay and of the event too. In terms of food, they have a great variety even though it's a bit smaller than the 626 mini night market. Korean BOBCHA: We basically ordered the whole menu for the family. - 2 Protein Plate ($14): My dad got the beef and chicken for his 2 protein choices. Their beef reminds me of the Costco bulgogi beef. Everyone loved the chicken which was really soft. - Bobcha KFC ($17): I believe this came with 8 chicken wings, half soy garlic and half sweet & spicy. You can barely taste the soy garlic so you mostly taste the dry but crispy chicken. The sweet & spicy was much better since it has more flavor. This order came with salad and rice which was nice. - Bobcha Tots ($17): The tots were served in a unique way. They must have smashed the tots because they were thin crispy tot layers topped with bulgogi beef and kimchi. This was a family favorite for sure. - Bobcha Burrito ($14): So there's apparently a layer of tater tots in here which is probably the same thing they use for the tots. We got spicy pork and it went so well with the rest of the burrito ingredients. It was unique and such a successful Asian fusion item. This was my brother's favorite and probably mine too. Los Kuyas: - Two Tacos ($10): We chose the pork sisig & longanisa tacos. Each order came with 3 tacos so we got 6 in total which is a steal! Both were good but the longanisa was the favorite. Off the grid is a super fun Friday night event! It's one of my favorite things to do in San Francisco and I have been coming here for years. It's great to hang out with your friends or to meet up here for a date! I am so happy to see it back after it's 2 year hiatus!! During its first month of being back they had like 25 ish food trucks, which I think is less than during their hey day but still a ton. There is a good variety of types of food trucks, a cute bar, wine trucks, and a live DJ. I had a lobster roll from the lobster truck which was amazing! My boyfriend got tacos from the bbq truck and that was also amazing, better than many of the bbq restaurants in San Francisco! We also had the churros truck, boba truck, and beer from the bar. I wish I had more stomach space so we could eat more things!! It gets pretty crowded at around 7 PM but if you come right when it opens around 5 ish there isn't much of a line. I think it's worth it to come early, eat, walk around the water/watch the sunset when the weather is nice, and then maybe eat more LOL or just mingle with the crowd. I came here last night with my friend. Parking was pretty easy, there's a lot of spots reserved for the yacht club but we had about a 5-10 minute walk away from the venue. There was a wide range of food from Mexican, sea food, desserts, musubi, noodles, coffee and drinks. The energy was great, everyone was very nice from the vendors to the customers. There was a lot of dogs, a lot of people (not many places to sit) but we just walked around and ate/ate outside of the main event. The water is a short walk from the vendors. There was a live band around 7, 730. There's a bathroom near by too which was great. Highly recommend coming to check this out! It's in a safe clean part of the city. Wow!! Love this event. Locals only. Swarms of tech kids in their pufffer jackets and backpacks descend on Fort Mason on Friday night to feast on AWESOME food truck food. In a serious foodie town, this is the bomb!! We had Bao, nepalese dumplings, lumpia. Carnitas Tacos. Great wine and beer All told, dinner and drinks ran about $75 bucks for four people. I love Off the Grid! It's such a good way to try a bunch of different food. Usually i'll come with my boyfriend, and we'll get a lot of different dishes and share everything. My favorite truck is definitely The Chairman, with Senor Sisig trailing close behind! Of course these are the more popular ones, so get here earlier if you don't want to wait as long for your food. Of the lesser known popular trucks, I really like the crab fries from Southern Comfort Kitchen, the mac and cheese spring rolls from 3-sum eats food truck, cookies and cream cotton candy from sugar and spun, and any creme brulee from the creme brulee truck! Recently my bf and I tried the "VIP Tasing Pass" which is $25 and comes with 4 tastings of your choice from their special menu. There are quite a bit of options to choose from, so we thought it was pretty worth it! You also get to go straight to the pick up line and skip the ordering line! You can check which vendors will be at OTG on their website, which is nice. Be sure to check it if you have something specific in mind already. It's a weekly event on Fridays during the summer time apparently. Couple of food truck and various food vendors. It kind of reminds of SF's version of a smaller 626 night market. I love the vibes of OTG, eat good food and hang out with some good music. We tried a few spots. SENOR SISIG- can't go wrong with a Sisig burrito. It lived up to the hype. The atmosphere is great here with the music and interactive performances. There are random seating areas, and if you can't find a place in the truck area, there's tons of places to sit just outside the trucks. Updating my review with some different trucks that I had there, since it's been about a couple years since I've been back! *** Really Liked *** -Aburaya Japanese Fried Chicken - Ordered the 4 piece fried chicken, half with the Aburaya BBQ sauce, and other half with the Japenese Curry dry rub (costs $1 more to split flavors). The BBQ flavor was amazing, the Curry one, not so much, but still so juice and tender. I believe they use chicken thighs and that's how they get their chicken to be so moist and flavorful. You can also ask for rice and greens for extra, but well worth it! It's a lot of food! -Revenge Pies - Ordered the Apple Pie and it was solid. Cinnamony flavored and the apples were cooked perfectly. The crust was bomb as well! A perfectly executed apple pie, and they also put some whipped cream on top as well! *** Did Not Really Enjoy *** -El Porteño Empanadas - Was expecting a juicy beefy taco pocket style empanada but did not get that. Doing a "review" of OTG Fort Mason is essentially like doing 4-5 mini-reviews depending on what you ate. I'll attempt to give a flavor of what OTG is like based on going a few times, most recently on August 4th. First, like all things in SF on a Friday, it is always a little unpredictable as to how long it will take you to get to your destination. On this particular night we had to drop the kids off at AT&T park for a Giants game at 7:00pm but we still made it to Fort Mason at 7:15pm(?). Thank you Waze driving app! Parking/Weather: Every time that we've been to OTG Fort Mason, we've been able to park in one of the lots. This time, we drove into the main area (next to the area where the food trucks are) and found parking there. There is a fee ($5 for two hours) which you pay at a machine (credit cards allowed). We also generally bring some kind of sweater/windbreaker every time we go into the City but it's generally not as windy as I would have thought it would be (we only stay until about 9:00pm so perhaps that's part of the reason). Johnny Doughnuts - We came here first because . . . doughnuts. And as usual with Johnny Doughnuts we were not disappointed. We ordered a caramel apple fritter (which we devoured even before getting our actual dinners), as well as a lime marscapone raised doughnut. One reason why we get Doughnuts first is that they sometimes run out midway through the night. Jeepney Guy - Chicken lumpia. They're smaller (I think some call it "cigar lumpia" and very crispy. 4 rolls for $5. I'd do this again. Pampa BBQ - I ordered the skirt steak sandwich which comes with greens, grilled red peppers, and an aioli. The steak wasedium rare (which I requested, but hey, they actually got it right) and think and tender. Good flavor throughout. ($15 + $2 for a drink) Tai Chi Jianbing - My wife ordered this and both of us were pleasantly surprised. Crispy and savory. Spoke to another customer who said he'd only had these before in NYC. ($9) Humphry Slocombe - Secret breakfast. Enough said. $5 but well worth it. All in all a good night! read more

This was my very first time attending a night time off the grid event. I was very surprised at the amount of different food trucks that were there. The food was delicious and the drinks were tasty! Off the Grid is Off the Hook...Off the Hinges, even. OK, that made me sound like a dork...and old. A product of the Food Truck Revolution that has swept the nation culminated into a weekly gathering for all foodies here in Fort Mason. Here, in one spot, you get a cornucopia of specialty dishes from around the world right into your fingertips and smack down into your lips. You can figuratively travel the world by tasting different cuisines from far away places while staying in your backyard. From Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese, Filipino, Peruvian, Mexican, Thai, Japanese, Korean and good ole fashioned American. (Forgive me if I skipped a country but you pretty much get my drift.) Yes, you can gorge on anything you want and stuff yourself silly while having a blast going from venue to venue. The atmosphere is festive with a lively vibe and energy. There's music playing and spirits flowing and not even a typically cold, foggy, summer weather in San Francisco can dampen the mood. Fun in the Sun? Nah...us natives like it Bold in the Cold. But if you happen to be a weather wimp, just bundle up like your going to the Artic, but don't be b*itchin and complainin about the weather while you sip on your hot cup of Joe. Gimme some Chairman Bao Buns. Gimme some Cornflake Crusted Chicken Sammich from 3Sum Eats. Gimme some delicious desserts from Creme Brulee Cart. Gimme some Roast Duck Tacos from Kung Fu Truck. I'll give you my hard-earned cash just to feel warm and fuzzy inside. You might go broke at the end of the night, but you'll die happy and full for sure. read more

OFF THE GRID is OFF DA HOOK!! Okay, pardon the lameness! Off the Grid is basically a weekly event where local food vendors gather. They call themselves a "roaming mobile food extravaganza". I call them geniuses! Some of the highly desirable, almost unreachable vendors are now at one place! Don't believe me? Just to name a few vendors, how about...Curry Up Now, Kung Fu Tacos, Seoul on Wheels, Chairman Bao, El Huarache Loco, the Crème Brulee Cart, AdoboHobo?! Yup, it's killing multiple bookmarks with one trip! Vendor reviews to come later. The space is small and gets crowded quickly. I highly recommend going right at 5pm to scope out all the vendors. Last time, the place was jam packed before it hit 6pm. Rumor has it that Off the Grid will be expanding to other locations. But for now, every Friday 5-9pm at the Fort Mason Center parking lot. My first OTG event had to..of course..be here, Fort Mason! Whoop Whoop! The biggest OTG event out of all the OTG events. 30+ food trucks, argh! Can't decide on which truck to drop my Jackson(s) on. Came here around 9pm on a Friday(duh(Traffic was a B!))--Place was jam packed with people! The smell of food was in the cold, brisk air. Right when you walk in, there's an info booth and a map of which food truck is where. My friend and I went around the circle of trucks once(gosh, it was a BIT CHallenging getting around due to it being so crowded!) and made our decisions. I headed for the KoJa truck & my friend went to Sticks. Expect long lines, mmkay?! Chairman, KoJa & Senor Sisig? Get there early or order 15 mins before they close(I doubt there'll be anything good left.. maybe you'll get lucky and snatch something up) to avoid waiting 20+ minutes.. Tips: *Bring a jacket(& fingerless gloves)-- my hands were going numb as I dug into Kamikaze fries from KoJa. The venue is near the water, it was HERRA cold! *Be hands free--There's a limited amt of chairs/tables. I suggest wearing a cross body, messenger bag or fanny pack(if you still rock those) bc the last thing you want to be doing is juggling your food, drink, money & phone(I lost 5 bucks there(MAN! I coulda bought a bag of kettle corn or 2 cupcakes T___T)). PLUS you'll be vulnerable to pick-pocketing peeps. Just sayin'... *Bring at least $10 cash--You're at an OTG function, you're mostly likely going to be spending more than $5. Some of these food trucks are a bit pricey...some accept cards but you don't wanna get hit with surcharge :p *Check FB for the food truck line up-- I'm guessing the food trucks rotate in and out each week. It's best to see which truck will be there and what they serve so when you get there, you already know what you want..saves a lotta time! Believe me...you don't want to be an indecisive friend... Optional: *Bring a small flashlight--walking to and from the parking lot it was dark! They need to install some more street lights over there :p Overall, my 1st OTG experience was good...should've came earlier but hey, can't predict the traffic and what not.
