We are very happy we found Novak and Sons Construction! Phil Novak and his team built our two story lake house on the Chain O'Lakes and did a fantastic job! I found this company on Yelp and picked them because of their experience with other waterfront properties. They tore down our old home and left a few walls to rebuild per new drawings from our architect. This included framing, siding, installation of windows/doors, front porch/back deck, stairs, interior flooring, installed cabinets, bathroom tile, trim/crown molding, closet organizers, remodeled garage, fence, etc... the list goes on. I just show Phil a picture of what we want and he builds it. The owner Phil Novak and his family have become great friend through this project. I've trust him with a key to our house because he treats it like it's his own. Many of my neighbors, friends and family now use this company. They did an awesome remodel of my neighbor's boat house on Petite Lake. Treat him and his team with respect and they will take good care of you. read more

I never understood why someone would leave a poor review for someone who had not provided them a service but now I get it. What - a - waste - of - time. I had Phil come out and give me a quote for some work around my house. Had lots of things I was interested in having fixed but primarily concerned about some work in the basement. He showed up on time as expected. Showed him around the house for the various things I wanted fix but let me him know I was primarily concerned about the basement. He left and the next day he sent me quote. He hasn't replied to any phone calls or emails since I received the quote. Don't waste your time with this guy. read more

Found our home improcement guy! We needed some random improvements to a home we were selling. Many quotes I received a contractor could only do one item or it was highly priced. Phil provided me with an accurate estimate, good price, even made a suggestion for a railing when he doubted the durability of our initial idea. He made sure the job would be the best, and never raised his price on me. Phil was early to the site on the day of work, explained it all thoroughly and produced a wonderful result. Phil did an incredible job on removing some dry rot from our home and recreating a door frame. We live in a neighborhood with a specific architectural code and he was able to match it immediately. He also built a new set of stairs from scratch. The price was already unbeatable. There came a point when his estimate did not match the work done and he deducted labor fees from the final cost. Could not be happier with what was done. Will definitely be calling Phil for all of our future construction/remodel needs. read more

Phil is amazing. He did great work (that I saw firsthand) on my boss' place of business and came highly recommended. We had termite damage - yes TERMITE DAMAGE - that basically destroyed our entire family room down to the sill plate and floor joists. Phil rebuilt inside from the crawlspace on up, including a new bay window, and siding, some roofing, etc. His craftsmanship is top quality, and he got the job done sooner than we expected (no one wants to live in a non-functional space with 2 small kids and a dog, which he totally got), which was a pleasant surprise. Phil is willing to go the extra mile for his clients, and his communication and pricing are refreshing in this day and age. Plus, I can't help myself, I judge people on their handshake. Awesome experience. I called this morning at 7:55am for an outdoor water leak and he was at the house by 930am. He made a recommendation and then made the repair immediately. He was honest about how to perform a short term repair and then made a suggestion for long term repair. Pending approval of the work he will be back out to the house in two weeks for final repair. I'm extremely disappointed. I had set up dates with Novak to work on remodeling by bathroom, two months in advance to start May 13th. On May 6th I get an e-mail that they are backed up, I replied stating that I took those days as vacations, I wish they would have told me earlier to change the days as it was too late to change. Anyhow, I was at their mercy since I didn't hire anyone else. I sent a second e-mail as into when they will be able to remodel so I have an idea, not one reply or at least a phone call. So now I'm back to square one. It's unfortunate, because I had more work to be done, but I can't work with people who would reject your project to get a bigger project with more pay at the last minute. It's not ethically right, and the fact that they didn't even bother to call me and at least apologize it's simply not right. I've wasted my time waiting for them to work on remodeling my bathroom. I've seen great reviews about them, but now I'm second guessing if those are even real. No business should do that to any client at all. I simply don't understand, Phil seems to be so nice, but I guess money & greed changes people. read more

Honestly, I can't even explain how amazing Phil's work and patience were yesterday with my garage door and opener!! My new garage door was supposed to be a 4 hour max job yesterday. Well anything that could have gone wrong, did. Torsion spring, tracking system, garage door opener all needed to be replaced, adjusted and Phil just kept going resilantly without complaining, and with a very positive attitude!! 8 hours later, all was done right, looking nice and my garage door and opener working better than ever!!
