Xfinity's Internet connection is very good, but everything else about Xfinity is horrible,…read moreparticularly and especially its customer service. If you (1) like a tinny robotic voice to answer your call and (2) to provide you no live human being or customer service for help, and (3) cuts you off the line if you do not comply and agree to only receive mechanical, automated responses, then Xfinity is the right place for you. It's shocking that the human touch is totally missing from any and all customer interaction with Xfinity, and that its basic mode of operation is to mechanically give the customer the finger at the mere suggestion he or she might need to speak with a live human being. Even the installation I received of my Internet connection in my home was lazy and parsimonious, where the installer refused to simply hang the cable on the wall as any AT&T or Sonic installer has dutifully and helpfully done in the past. Even the manager of the installation department goes on the offensive at the mere suggestion that cable installation involves some finesse. Every time I need to get information from Xfinity I encounter a robotic voice of a woman who lies about her helpfulness and her understanding and does nothing but serve as an automated middle-man between you and a link Xfinity wants to put on your phone where the odds of actually getting the information you seek is less than 50-50. It's just mind-boggling to me how ineffective, obtuse, indifferent, time-wasting and malignant is the management of this company and how if, by some miracle, you do get to speak to a live agent, the live agent speaks English poorly, does not understand your problem, and just refers you to another department and then to another department and then to another department -- until you hang up in disgust and go online to research the problem on your own. And for each inquiry you make to Xfinity, Xfinity plagues you with the question: "Would you recommend Xfinity to a relative, friend or neighbor?" -- each and every time and even when you weren't able to get through to anyone at all! The combination of greed and robotic indifference to the customer that makes up Xfinity is a nasty, disreputable and dystopian concoction and scam, and the owner and management of this company both deserve to lose their business where filing for bankruptcy is the only option. I pray that it happens soon.

Let's start with Xfinity internet reliability. In my service area (FiDi/Jackson Square) the…read moreinternet is down part of the day multiple days of the week. When you call you often can't talk to an agent, but even when you do the agents can only send signals and test your equipment. I've been told by an Xfinity service technician who came to my place is that Xfinity doesn't have the capacity to service all the customers in my area. There is no attempt, though, to adjust what they charge to account for the lack of internet connectivity. If at least the times it went down were consistent I could at least try to plan. But there's no consistency. They are perpetuating a fraud by selling service they know they can't provide to new customers , and by continuing to charge existing customers full price despite the frequent downtime. I'm investigating alternatives like Monkeybrains because Xfinity, or Comcast, or whatever they call themselves now just SUCKS!

However, I experienced a outage that I could not troubleshoot, and I called customer service for help. However, the agent had a not-so-good attitude, which said I did not appreciate. For which he apologized by blaming it on me. For example, he said the box should have 3 cables. Mine had two. He insisted there were 3 over and over, implying that I had a significant lack of knowledge or experience in troubleshooting. Two of my relatives were with me and also confirmed the two cables, yet he kept insisting there are 3 and that we were mistaken in an exasperated tone. I have always had pleasant experiences with customer service agents, so this was quite shocking. He also did not explain things well. Only after repeated clarification questions could follow his directions. We ultimately were not able to fix the outage due to the cable situation. Hopefully, other agents are more helpful than this one, and only I have had this unpleasant experience. Otherwise, the internet service and installation process is great, I have had no other issues.
