In the process…read moreof working with Sandra on my dress I found I had both a negative and a positive experience. To start on a positive note, I found the location and hours of operation worked well with my work schedule. The young woman/assistant who works in store was also pleasant to work with and helpful with coordinating time for me drop off the dress and have measurements done. My negative experience came from the seamstress who worked on my dress. When I first came in for my measurements I was a little thrown off by the cold attitude of the seamstress while taking my measurements. I brushed off my inital interaction with her as a possibility that she was having a bad day until I experienced this cold attitude from her again when picking up my dress. Both times I interacted with her she barely acknowledged my presence in the shop. Didn't say hello and didn't directly address me, just her assistant. When my dress was finally done a week later I went in for pick up and I tried on my altered dress. I noticed obvious and noticeable flaws in the stitching. I kindly asked to have the stitching fixed before I left. The seamstress again didn't acknowledge my presence or speak to me directly about the stitching just the young woman at the register. Eventually, she made the requested alterations on the spot and I took the dress home. I ended up finding more flaws in the stitching once I got home but these were minor and In my opinion not a reason to bring the dress back to the shop. To sum up my experience, for the price point of my service I would have appreciated more attention to detail and kinder customer service from the seamstress.

So I was looking for a very specific dress that several stores in the Bay Area said they stocked on their website, but did not have them in-store. WCB was the only store I found that was willing to order a 'loaner dress' from the manufacturer for a small fee so I could try it on. Additionally, Elizabeth was on top of communication and rescheduled my appointment as soon as they realized the dress got delayed in transit. I had a great experience during my appointment with Reagan. She was attentive and always made sure that the dresses I tried on were 1) within my budget and 2) could be ordered to arrive in time for alterations before my wedding date. She let our party deliberate dresses without giving input unless we asked her, which was refreshing compared to my experiences at other stores where I felt pressured by stylists who sold dresses as if they were cars. While I appreciated her dress suggestions based off the description of what I was looking for, I ultimately fell in love with the loaner dress they ordered for me (I was under no obligation to purchase it!) and because it was the perfect size already, I was able to take it home the same day too. Overall, I highly recommend Wine Country Bride. They are totally worth the drive up to Sonoma County.

Unfortunately, my experience here was really discouraging and left me feeling unheard, to the point that it took time before I was willing to try another bridal shop. I finally got the courage to go to another place and I went to Bliss Bridal & Black Tie, where I found my dress. The consultant there actually listened to me, understood what I was looking for, and made me feel supported throughout the entire appointment. The experience was completely different in the best way and showed me how meaningful dress shopping can be when you feel heard and respected. Because of this, I strongly recommend brides go elsewhere for their dress shopping experience. If you're deciding where to go, I encourage you to choose a shop that truly listens and makes you feel confident and excited -- every bride deserves that.
